    Ceasar salad w/ plantain chips
    Nikki J.

Almost a month ago, I had the absolute pleasure of getting away to visit the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, and while there Fish by Jose Andres was one of the restaurants on the property that we tried. I will first start with the service. Upon walking in, we were told there was only availability at the bar, so we decided to order "to go." I am so glad we were pointed in that direction because the gentleman working in the bar area provided A++ customer service. He not only was very honest on meal selections and with providing his experiences or opinions, but was very thorough in making suggestions on what we should try as well. The items we ended up choosing were very filling. I loved the different touch in the ceasar salad. Typical ceasar salad has croutons, but this one had plantain chips. The sauce for the jerk chicken was a bit different as it reminded me more of a BBQ based sauce, but I felt still had a great flavor and thickness for the chicken. And those cheddar bay rolls were delightful. They were warm and light. You definitely will find yourself eating more than just one and the butter I can't describe in words but paired well. Although we didn't get to enjoy the full ambiance of the restaurant (reason i gave 4 stars) because seating in the restaurant wasn't available at that time, the ambiance of the bar and the customer service received did our visit to the restaurant justice.

Getting upset over this place not having every species of fish is wild. lol Don't understand some of these reviews. If you like to fine dine and appreciate a good culinary experience, then this place is for you. Service is amazing!!!! They have a good system down from the team that makes sure your water is refilled to the server that makes sure you have everything you need. Food- The branzino was amazing but honestly loved the taste of the mahi mahi so much more. Overall you won't go wrong with either. Salted margarita was very nice. Bubbles had the salted flavor, perfect margarita. For sides carrots and broccolini were great tasting. For dessert I recommend the peanut and chocolate tart.

This is an extremely beautiful restaurant located on an even more beautiful resort however the food is extremely subpar. For the price point of each dish and given the reputation of the chef myself and my party was left extremely underwhelmed. The food needs to be seasoned a lot more across the board. Also the presentation on my fish entree was truly appalling. The only saving grace was that banana cream pie.

Lovely Fish by Jose Andres is an option for dining inside Atlantis @ (The Cove) on Paradise Island Rule 1 - Book: 2 weeks ahead menu offers innovative seafood and the BONUS + is they have a tasting menu (2 different kinds)! I, unfortunately, traveled with my child so i was not eligible for this experience. However, it was still, just as uniquely enjoyable in its own way. Staff is SUPER lovely and welcoming! Clean and spacious. Love the fact their Cheddar biscuits are complimentary-despite not being the best-my daughter and I enjoyed ours. I suggest handling them w/ care if you want a solid bite with +butter since they do break apart very easily. I only got to try a few items from their menu since i didn't want to have leftovers while visiting. I'll rate my items in order; For me to say José's Lobster Mini Roll was amazing, is an understatement! I absolutely loved and was taken by surprise after my first bite--"old bay butter poached lobster, pickled celery, mayo foam"--and fresh fried potato chips to accompany the roll. A bit salty for me, i'll ask for light or none NT. Definitely a (1 per p.) appetizer, but i HIGHLY recommend giving it a try!!!! OT but I overly heard a man sitting next to me say it was a delicious lobster roll to our server. Honestly, a MUST try!! Sautéed Shrimp Mojo Negro was just as mouthwatering (esp. rn haha) also being an appetizer, but full of flavor & meaty, fresh Bahamian shrimp!!! this dish was smoky, spicy, sweet and tangy; MY absolute fav! if you're into those key flavors ^ i definitely recommend trying this one as well. Twice Baked Potato came out last and i was NOT able to finish it (at all) but it was sooo good, i had to pack it TO-GO! My daughter also enjoyed her Buttered Elbow w/ fresh shredded cheese & last but not least, the Churros we shared for dessert were piping hot, perfectly fried & coated, but the sauce was just a tad bit oddly bitter (dark chocolate), but it had a stranger after taste. Anyway, to end this, i cannot forget to mention how absolutely beautiful this restaurant is. The aesthetics, traditional, yet modern details in this place will amaze you . Please give this place a try if you're ever visiting Atlantis! :)

This was the first "nice" dinner we had while in the Bahamas. We didn't stay on Paradise Island because most of the activities we did were on the main island. I found this place just googling nice-ish places on Paradise Island and they also had reservations available. The first thing you see when you walk into the restaurant itself is this really captivating art piece that looks like a school of fish. It was so beautiful I took a picture of it. The inside has the ocean vibe and alot of blue color. Our server was friendly and attentive. You can see the kitchen and where they grill the food. My back was towards it but walking to the bathroom is a good way to see what they're doing. We started with the Tuna Nikkei appetizer. The fish was very fresh and the jicama provider a nice crunch against the rest of the soft textured food. You can scoop the fish up with a plantain chip and together it makes a nice combo of salty, sweet, and fresh. Very nice way to start the meal. For our entrees, I got the octopus and my husband got the chicken. That chicken is amazing by the way. I highly recommend it. I was expecting one arm of the octopus..I didn't realize how large the portion was. I don't think I managed to finish it; it was really filling but the grill on it was perfect. I think the potatoes were a nice touch but potatoes always fill me up fast for some reason. I was so full at the end that I don't think we got dessert. This is an excellent restaurant and I do recommend trying it. We had an early reservations (like 5pm) so it was not busy as that's when it opens. It's much quieter and faster service when there's less people eating.

Cold Fish & Poor Service I don't recommend Fish. My entree was cold, service was incredibly slow, and the highlight was the cheddar biscuits (stolen from Red Lobster) Update: Staff has no clue what they are doing. Fish is a huge disappointment.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here while we were in Atlantis with my wife, sister and son. We did the tasting menu each round seemed to just be the right touch of what you wanted in a tasting menu. We tried the tasting menu, and each round was exactly what you'd hope for--just the right touch of flavor and finesse, perfectly hitting the tasting menu sweet spot. The service was fantastic, and they were incredibly accommodating to my 10-year-old son. We truly had a wonderful time here!

What a fabulous dining experience at this upscale seafood restaurant. We started with the bread service and it tasted like a cross between sweet cornbread and a biscuit..It was very unique and very delicious. For appetizers we had to conch fritters and they were phenomenal. When you bite into them, there was a creamy center that melted it in your mouth and the outside was perfectly fried and crisp. The macaroni and cheese with jumbo crab was also very good. The crab cakes were OK not the best I've had but they were passable. For dinner entree, my friend had the grouper and it was literally phenomenal. It was super flavorful and cooked to perfection and surrounded by a sauce that had a unique, sweet flavor that I have never had before. If I were to return, the grouper would be a must. We also had the shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy and well seasoned and the shrimp was fresh. They were also an excellent choice. We both had a glass of red wine and white wine and both were delicious. I also had a dirty martini that was good. The only thing I will say that is negative is that our waitress spent a lot of time talking to another table and not so much time speaking to us. I also thought it was odd that she brought me a box to box up my own food because usually at a restaurant at this price point you would expect the waitress to box up the food for you. This is one of the best dining restaurants in Atlantis and I will definitely return. When we come back, I think I want to try the whole fried fish because I seen someone get it and it looked absolutely delicious and beautifully plated like artwork.

My family and I came here for dinner with an 8:00 PM reservation on a Monday. We had to wait 45 minutes until being seated. The restaurant is very cold, plan to bring a sweater. The portions for the food is very small and super overpriced. The food is tasty and cooked to perfection but not worth the amount of money for the amount of food you're given. I'd rather eat at a fish fry over the bridge and get something more authentic for a cheaper price.

This was a great experience! The atmosphere was so amazing, the staff very accommodating and the food...OMG. The sauce with the grouper, i could have licked the plate. The key lime colada cocktail sounds better than it tasted but all else was fabulous. Well worth the money

Do you know how many Michelin stars chef José Andrés has?  He has both a two-star Michelin restaurant and four Bib Gourmands.  You can visit one of his restaurants at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. We had a fantastic night of good food and a fabulous atmosphere at Fish by José Andrés.  The interior decors are exquisite.  Overall, it was a pleasant experience.  The food presentation was lovely, and it caused a sense of excitement.  We have higher expectations when dining at a restaurant owned by a Michelin stars chef, so we think there is room to improve its service. Food: 4/5 Should Try! Service: ‍‍‍3/5 Kids: 3/5 A-OK for kids. Price: 150+ USD for two (dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Distance: short walk away from The Royal or The Coral Resort Tips: * serve small portion sizes, but the ingredients are fresh. * can make a table reservation through OpenTable but recommended to book it at least two weeks in advance. * can accommodate large party groups. Would I Return: Yes ‍

Snappers was packed at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. However, as it was late July, we were able to get a table outside right away. There are fans to help with the heat, and it's well ventilated so there was a nice breeze. Our server was prompt and friendly. The menu was seafood with an Asian flair. We started with the crab stuffed portobello (probably the weakest part of the meal) and delicious coconut shrimp. After that, our entrees came with salads, which were also great (tortilla chips and a zesty dressing made it more fun than your usual house salad, but it didn't feel too decadent). I got the snapper, which was served over coconut rice and with a delicious curry sauce and mango chutney. The curry reminded me more of thinner Japanese curry versus Indian or Thai, which I loved. The snapper itself was a nicely-sized piece and was cooked/seasoned perfectly with a hint of spice. The coconut sticky rice was so addictive!! The sweetness of the mango chutney just made each bite a wonderful flavor explosion. I would 100% recommend this dish. My husband got the coconut cashew crusted mahi, which was also excellent (and another huge portion of fish). It seems like you can't go wrong here with a fish dish!

My family and I had such a great experience, and I'd easily give it a 9/10 for the food, service, and ambiance. Even though it was a rainy day and only indoor seating was available, it didn't take away from the experience at all. The restaurant has windows throughout, so no matter where you're seated, you still get gorgeous views of the water. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure guests have a great experience. Another thing I appreciated was that the food is made fresh to order, and the seafood tasted exceptionally fresh. We started with the Kung Pao Calamari, and wow...I honestly could've eaten the entire plate myself! It was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and easily one of the best appetizers I've had in a while. For my entrée, I ordered the Maine Lobster Roll, and it was outstanding--fresh, buttery, and loaded with lobster. I paired it with the plantain mashed potatoes, which completely surprised me. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were absolutely delicious and something I'd order again without hesitation. My refreshing Peach Margarita was the perfect complement to the meal. Around the table, the Fish & Chips and the Grouper BLT were both big hits. The only small critique is that the hush puppies were a little overdone. Aside from that, everything was flavorful and thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, Buoys delivered an excellent dining experience with fresh food, warm hospitality, and beautiful waterfront views. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in St. Pete!

Perhaps we tried the wrong things, but we were hungry (which usually increases the appreciation for the food), and our choices ranged from not good to good. The dip appetizer- Not good. It was the crab dip with seasoned cheez-it shaped crackers. The crab did not have good flavor and the crackers were over salted. Wasn't a good balance for my taste buds. Didn't eat most of it. The oysters appetizer- Good. They were fresh which is ALWAYS appreciated. I didnt like that the shells weren't rinsed, which led to alot of shell in my slurps and the actual oyster sizes ranged from normal to small. One was almost tiny. My main meal- Good. I had the special...a Blackened Hogfish stuffed with crab and scallops. The fish on it's own was ok, but the bites with the stuffing as the whole were good. The rice and beans along with it were cooked perfectly. My friend had the Blackened Grouper and enjoyed it thoroughly. Desserts- Very Good- 50/50. The Coconut Cheesecake was absolutely DELICIOUS, definitely homemade. The Chocolate Cheesecake was just ok, but killed the sweet treat itch. Ambiance- Tranquil. If you're looking for beautiful scenery while eating pretty good food out on the patio area, this is it. The main dining area upstairs was a typical old seafood diner type vibe. The bathrooms are also located upstairs. Service was informative and attentive. It wasn't the best seafood I've had, but I'd definitely come back for the view. Pricing was fair. Check them out!

Just a heads-up: they use a nacho cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese, which some people may prefer to know ahead of time. Our friend from Massachusetts ordered the lobster sub (also market price) and said it was worth every penny. My husband and I split the grouper nuggets and the Philly cheesesteak. The bread is brought in from up north, and our server's recommendation did not disappoint. The sandwich was rich, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the onion rings. Parking is minimum $50 a day + fees. A cocktail? For an hour? Haha no. I'm being mildly disingenuous. The bar staff (and likely restaurant staff) will give you a QR code to validate all $58 of your parking. But it made me acutely miss a time when you could just park and patronize an establishment. Just don't forget to validate your parking, cuz they sure didn't ask preemptively. They were celebrating a 3-day grand reopening when we went on Saturday. There was *one* artisan in their market space. The music was pumping loud enough to not be able to converse. Although it drew a crowd of younger folks, there was not much to behold from the "grand" reopening. Not even s cost of paint. The beach bar may not have been part of the sprucing up idk, I didn't see anything worth celebrating. I meant to look at the size of the cocktail cup that we got (small), but $13-14 for a cocktail is highway robbery for the end result. And $18 for 6 wings ($3 a wing) was a little disappointing. I expected better of a Hilton adjoined restaurant. No one part was terrible. It was just the way they matched up - loud, expensive, small portions. If you're loud maybe you're cheap and tasty. If you're expensive, maybe you're fast and delicious. This was all the worst parts of a bar that doesn't care about its patrons' economics. A bar that wants to serve tourists with mediocrity and move on to the next crop of people who will never be there again. If you're a tourist it'll probably be fine, if overpriced. If you're a local, don't bother. To be fair, we should ask if there was anything good. hm ... no. We won't be returning. 3 stars is probably generous.

We were seated in the bar and the tables had nice leather arm chairs, but they sit so low my face was level with the table. I had to pull the back cushion to sit on and kept slipping off my seat. My husband is really tall and he had the same issue. So my evening did not get off to a fantastic start until my vesper martini arrived. And wow was it good! We ordered onion rings as an appetizer and they were perfection! My filet and my husbands ribeye were both really good and cooked perfectly with excellent cuts of meat. The quality was wonderful. We enjoyed the mashed potatoes, the jalapeno corn, and the Mac and cheese as our shared sides. We will definitely be back!

There were hardly any cars or people sitting outside. Then a server opened the door...and at around 7pm we found the spot kinda empty. Good or bad sign? They sat us down and looked at the menu. It looked good but didn't see much variety. It was much higher type of seafood dishes and beef options. We did come here bc of a reservation so we went further. We chose the mussels in a tomato sauce as appetizers to begin. We ordered the Pinot Grigio and unfortunately I had to send mine glass back bc it just wasn't a good wine. Had to ask for more bread bc you can't give me mussels with a great sauce and not use bread to finish it. They were good size mussels. We shared the entree which was the seafood pappardelle pasta in a cream sauce which had lobster, shrimp, and scallops. The sauce was good but they must have salted the pasta a bit too much which def made the dish richer. The service was good, but for the prices here you'd expect something more since the server did not know about the sauces and how things were prepared. Kinda of a bummer when she had to go back to the chef to ask. But it seemed everything was just higher in price. Overall it was ok. Just for the prices, you expect the food to be exceptional. Things just didn't align.
