Our dinner at Fish by José Andrés was nothing short of exceptional. This was our fourth visit, and somehow it just keeps getting better every time. We started the evening with the Martini of the Night, which was absolutely superb and the perfect way to kick off the meal. The conch appetizer was outstanding and featured the best chimichurri sauce we've ever had--fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. The crab cake was simply perfection. For our entrées, we enjoyed the red snapper and the grouper, and the sweet passionfruit sauce paired with the grouper was an unexpected delight that elevated the entire dish. We finished by sharing the peanut dessert, which was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. The service was just as memorable as the food. From the gentleman who welcomed us at the bar to our outstanding waiter, every interaction was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Chantell and her entire team made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed a delicious rosé, had the pleasure of meeting Luigi, the sommelier, whose recommendations were outstanding, and were also honored to meet the Chef de Cuisine, whose passion and talent were evident in every bite. Fish continues to set the standard for fine dining in the Bahamas. The combination of extraordinary cuisine, impeccable service, and genuine hospitality is what keeps bringing us back. Almost a month ago, I had the absolute pleasure of getting away to visit the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, and while there Fish by Jose Andres was one of the restaurants on the property that we tried. I will first start with the service. Upon walking in, we were told there was only availability at the bar, so we decided to order "to go." I am so glad we were pointed in that direction because the gentleman working in the bar area provided A++ customer service. He not only was very honest on meal selections and with providing his experiences or opinions, but was very thorough in making suggestions on what we should try as well. The items we ended up choosing were very filling. I loved the different touch in the ceasar salad. Typical ceasar salad has croutons, but this one had plantain chips. The sauce for the jerk chicken was a bit different as it reminded me more of a BBQ based sauce, but I felt still had a great flavor and thickness for the chicken. And those cheddar bay rolls were delightful. They were warm and light. You definitely will find yourself eating more than just one and the butter I can't describe in words but paired well. Although we didn't get to enjoy the full ambiance of the restaurant (reason i gave 4 stars) because seating in the restaurant wasn't available at that time, the ambiance of the bar and the customer service received did our visit to the restaurant justice. read more

Getting upset over this place not having every species of fish is wild. lol Don't understand some of these reviews. If you like to fine dine and appreciate a good culinary experience, then this place is for you. Service is amazing!!!! They have a good system down from the team that makes sure your water is refilled to the server that makes sure you have everything you need. Food- The branzino was amazing but honestly loved the taste of the mahi mahi so much more. Overall you won't go wrong with either. Salted margarita was very nice. Bubbles had the salted flavor, perfect margarita. For sides carrots and broccolini were great tasting. For dessert I recommend the peanut and chocolate tart. read more

For the price point of each dish and given the reputation of the chef myself and my party was left extremely underwhelmed. The food needs to be seasoned a lot more across the board. Lovely Fish by Jose Andres is an option for dining inside Atlantis @ (The Cove) on Paradise Island Rule 1 - Book: 2 weeks ahead menu offers innovative seafood and the BONUS + is they have a tasting menu (2 different kinds)! I, unfortunately, traveled with my child so i was not eligible for this experience. However, it was still, just as uniquely enjoyable in its own way. Staff is SUPER lovely and welcoming! Clean and spacious. Love the fact their Cheddar biscuits are complimentary-despite not being the best-my daughter and I enjoyed ours. I suggest handling them w/ care if you want a solid bite with +butter since they do break apart very easily. I only got to try a few items from their menu since i didn't want to have leftovers while visiting. I'll rate my items in order;For me to say José's Lobster Mini Roll was amazing, is an understatement! I absolutely loved and was taken by surprise after my first bite--"old bay butter poached lobster, pickled celery, mayo foam"--and fresh fried potato chips to accompany the roll. A bit salty for me, i'll ask for light or none NT. Definitely a (1 per p.) appetizer, but i HIGHLY recommend giving it a try!!!! OT but I overly heard a man sitting next to me say it was a delicious lobster roll to our server. Honestly, a MUST try!! Sautéed Shrimp Mojo Negro was just as mouthwatering (esp. rn haha) also being an appetizer, but full of flavor & meaty, fresh Bahamian shrimp!!! this dish was smoky, spicy, sweet and tangy; MY absolute fav! if you're into those key flavors ^ i definitely recommend trying this one as well. Twice Baked Potato came out last and i was NOT able to finish it (at all) but it was sooo good, i had to pack it TO-GO! This was the first "nice" dinner we had while in the Bahamas. We didn't stay on Paradise Island because most of the activities we did were on the main island. I found this place just googling nice-ish places on Paradise Island and they also had reservations available. The first thing you see when you walk into the restaurant itself is this really captivating art piece that looks like a school of fish. It was so beautiful I took a picture of it. The inside has the ocean vibe and alot of blue color. Our server was friendly and attentive. You can see the kitchen and where they grill the food. My back was towards it but walking to the bathroom is a good way to see what they're doing. We started with the Tuna Nikkei appetizer. The fish was very fresh and the jicama provider a nice crunch against the rest of the soft textured food. You can scoop the fish up with a plantain chip and together it makes a nice combo of salty, sweet, and fresh. Very nice way to start the meal. For our entrees, I got the octopus and my husband got the chicken. That chicken is amazing by the way. I highly recommend it. I was expecting one arm of the octopus..I didn't realize how large the portion was. I don't think I managed to finish it; it was really filling but the grill on it was perfect. I think the potatoes were a nice touch but potatoes always fill me up fast for some reason. I was so full at the end that I don't think we got dessert. This is an excellent restaurant and I do recommend trying it. We had an early reservations (like 5pm) so it was not busy as that's when it opens. This was our first time trying fish and we will be back! We had our 3 young children with us and they were more than accommodating. The service was great and we had Carmella and Michael they were top notch! The shrimp and grits was the best I've ever had and my husband had the coffee rubbed steak and it was delicious. Overall 10/10 and my son was thrilled that he was able to have a crab cake slider from the kids menu. We will be back! read more

Checked out Fish by Jose Andres while on a trip to Atlantis over the summer. We knew that it was going to be a "fancy dinner night" option and the food and ambiance was good; just not sure it was good enough to want to rush back and check it out again. The cheddar biscuits provided complementary were very good but the hush puppies appetizer we ordered sort of paled in comparison. I opted for the Shrimp and Grits which was a nice meal all around. For being such a seafood-centric restaurant I would have expected a bit larger and/or a bit more shrimp with the dish. My wife went for the Cobb Salad and added grilled shrimp and raved about her dish. The kids macaroni and cheese was small, cut spaghetti with a very rich, creamy cheese sauce that was then torched on the top. Not a big favorite amongst the kids and after sneaking a bite, I'd have to agree. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and was probably one of the nicer dining spots at Atlantis. The service was decent but given the price-point I would have expected a bit more attention as our server only checked in once and had a few missteps along the way. In terms of options at Atlantis, Fish by Jose Andres is a good option overall but prepare for a good, not great, meal. read more

What a fabulous dining experience at this upscale seafood restaurant. We started with the bread service and it tasted like a cross between sweet cornbread and a biscuit..It was very unique and very delicious. For appetizers we had to conch fritters and they were phenomenal. When you bite into them, there was a creamy center that melted it in your mouth and the outside was perfectly fried and crisp. The macaroni and cheese with jumbo crab was also very good. The crab cakes were OK not the best I've had but they were passable. For dinner entree, my friend had the grouper and it was literally phenomenal. It was super flavorful and cooked to perfection and surrounded by a sauce that had a unique, sweet flavor that I have never had before. If I were to return, the grouper would be a must. We also had the shrimp and grits. The grits were creamy and well seasoned and the shrimp was fresh. They were also an excellent choice. We both had a glass of red wine and white wine and both were delicious. I also had a dirty martini that was good. The only thing I will say that is negative is that our waitress spent a lot of time talking to another table and not so much time speaking to us. I also thought it was odd that she brought me a box to box up my own food because usually at a restaurant at this price point you would expect the waitress to box up the food for you. This is one of the best dining restaurants in Atlantis and I will definitely return. When we come back, I think I want to try the whole fried fish because I seen someone get it and it looked absolutely delicious and beautifully plated like artwork. read more

My family and I came here for dinner with an 8:00 PM reservation on a Monday. We had to wait 45 minutes until being seated.The restaurant is very cold, plan to bring a sweater. The portions for the food is very small and super overpriced. The food is tasty and cooked to perfection but not worth the amount of money for the amount of food you're given. We had a fantastic night of good food and a fabulous atmosphere at Fish by José Andrés.  The interior decors are exquisite.  Overall, it was a pleasant experience.  The food presentation was lovely, and it caused a sense of excitement.  We have higher expectations when dining at a restaurant owned by a Michelin stars chef, so we think there is room to improve its service. Came here on our last night to get some fish. We were able to book a reservation ahead of time for a party of 12. Sat us in a fantastic room with super nice chairs. The service was 5/5. They were friendly and super attentive. The food was more of a 4.7/5. Their ocean platter wasn't the best, but passable. I would 100% get their lobster rolls as they were delicious. First time here & it was absolutely AMAZING!! let's first start off with their beautiful bar. The bartender made the drink so well that I really consider them some of the best drinks I've ever had. whoever decorated the restaurant it is one of the best interior design I have ever seen in a restaurant.. every element made it elegant, contemporary, yet welcoming. The staff truly went out of their way to make us feel like we were a special guest in the restaurant. We had someone in our group that had allergies, and the chef came out and personally discussed the menu and options if that person wanted certain dishes that contained peanuts, and how they could modify the item for him. Just having the chef come out was a blessing. Every single dish we had was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Atlantis. Make your reservations ahead. The thing that stood out, the most of us was a ceviche. It was some of the best ceviche we've had on the cold tower that we ordered. I totally forgot to get a picture of the cold tower. The grouper with a passion fruit butter sauce was amazing. The mahi-mahi was amazing. We ended it with a Keylime pie. That was absolutely delicious. Yikes. First of all, this is in Atlantis Bahamas not in Florida as the address says here. The ambiance is so trendy and romantic. Dimmed light, modern. The food was ok for me. I got the crab salad. I was expecting more from a $30 meal. It was essentially tuna salad (but crab instead) and endives for dipping. It was a half cup of mayonnaise dense crab. Definitely not filling, which was disappointing since I asked the server specifically if this would be good as a meal and he said yes. The server was annoyed and didn't want to be there. The mac and cheese for kids is terrible. It was a flavorless soupy mess of vermicelli noodles. Like the cut up vermicelli that you cook with rice. Super pricey on top of all that. We left starving after a salad, one main for my husband, and 2 kids noodles- and $200 bill to boot. Would not recommend. read more

My wife has a serious gluten allergy and upon our arrival we were told that Chef Marino would be out to speak personally with us about the menu options available to her. He was at our tableside within 3 minutes and carefully went over each menu item that could be made gluten free. He was quite knowledgeable about the subject and stated that his staff was well trained and well aware of Celiac Disease and how to combat it in the kitchen. While the food was being prepared, I asked for a brief tour of the kitchen, as I own two restaurants myself. The business that night was slow and my request was immediately granted. I was given a complete tour of the kitchen by Chef Marino, told how each station works and we traded thoughts on staff training issues that we both share. Upon my return to the table, our food arrived and the Halibut was absolutely stunningly delicious! No small servings here -- it was a full 8oz portion of perfectly cooked halibut. My wife ordered the same halibut and hers was done beautifully as well, and was completely gluten free. Chef even allowed us to substitute the regular sauce for a brown butter sauce which was absolutely magnificent. For dessert, I had the Key Lime Pie. Presentation on this was not what I expected. It was the pie filling in a bowl, topped with dollops of whipped cream and graham cracker crumbles. And it was lovely. The balance between tart and sweet was perfect. The next night, Chef Marino, upon visiting out table to go over gluten free options again, recognized us, and personally brought out a grouper appetizer for our enjoyment. I have never been a fan of raw fish, and took the first bite while he watched only to be polite. To say that the raw fish in my mouth caused an orgasmic explosion of rapture that had my palate dancing on the ceiling would be an understatement. I never knew that raw fish could taste so wonderful! And it was gluten free! My wife and I could have made a meal on that dish alone, but our entrees were already in progress, so we suffered through yet another exquisite meal from Chef Marino of Fish at Atlantis. I arrogantly offered Chef Marino my own cherished recipe for Caesar Salad dressing which I dearly love and use in one of my restaurants. Expecting a polite "Thank you, but we like our recipe" reply, I was shocked when he grinned broadly and was like a little kid at Christmas. "A recipe for me? I will try this myself!" The highest praise one chef can give another is to thank him for a recipe. Yes, we will forego Hawaii next year and return to Atlantis, if only so we can eat Chef Marino's food again. Definitely top 2 dinners we had on paradise island. (Nobu being the other). All of our dishes were very good. We had the grouper, asparagus side, and the corn chowder. The grouper was a large portion, can easily be split for two. The lemon sauce that came on the plate with the fish was what took it over the top. The asparagus was ok. Nothing to write home about but was cooked well. The corn chowder was phenomenal. Wouldn't skip this one. Literally wanted to lick the plate. Also, the cheddar biscuits they bring out were incredible. No way you'll be able to stop yourself from eating the whole plate of them. My only pet-peeve that is the same at all of the higher end restaurants on the island (except Nobu). Why do I have to have a small cheap glass for my $26 glass of wine. You have nice big glasses at the table when we are seated. It reminded me of the glasses you get in an airport lounge. Smelling the wine when you drink it will make it taste better. There is a reason you should use a full sized glass for a nice wine. Stop being cheap, and use the nice glasses that you have in the table when we sit down! Drove me insane. read more

She made some key suggestions and pretty much guided me in creating a tasting menu. We ordered the ceviche, shrimp mojo negro, lobster roll, crab mac and cheese, grilled conch (what was recommended), and mushrooms. Although, I normally enjoy wine, the local beer (Sands and Kalik) paired better with the seafood. The Sands is lighter and came in a can, the Kalik was slightly fuller and came in a bottle). I ate here one evening and the dishes were really good. My husband and I decided to come back the following evening, on our last night in the Bahamas. We ordered the same dishes, the grouper and the halibut. Both dishes, were not as good, since the sauce was not reduced enough and was very runny. I sent my dish back ( grouper) and waited some time for the same dish to be made again. By this time, my husband finished his dish and when I received my dish, the fish was raw! Had to send my dish back, and decided not to order anything else at this time. We decided to get the check and leave. The restaurant is overpriced and the food is inconsistent. This was such a disappointing dining experience. We were staying at the Cove and were looking forward to dining here. Upon being seated we were immediately told there would be no crab dishes. After ordering we were then told there were no lobster rolls. Shortly after that we were told there was no fried conch. Then the order came to the table and was wrong. About half of our meal never even made it to the table (talking in the magnitude of 3-4 dishes). Service was slow and dinner took several hours. The food runners were loud and throwing dishes on the table. Would not recommend this place. The most disappointing dining experience on our vacation. Would recommend dining at another restaurant on the property or at Baha Mar. read more
