After seeing all the great reviews, I was hoping this would be an excellent dining experience. I was sadly disappointed. I ordered lobster/shrimp bisque and salad. My friend ordered French onion soup and a seafood sandwich. Our soups came out very quickly. The bisque was tasty but there were hardly any pieces of seafood in it. Maybe 3 very small pieces. Then, it was more than 30 minutes to get the rest of our order. Our friends were 100% done eating long before our food even arrived. My salad was 95% lettuce and not nearly enough dressing for its size. It was just an ok salad. Everything was fresh and crisp, though. All in, it was ok. In an area with so many great restaurants, however, this will not be one that I'll likely return to.

    Triple tail, grits, veggies

Great seafood, good service, cute fisherman atmosphere. Lots of TVs if you're into watching sports. Ample booths and looks like a fully loaded bar. We got the triple tail dinner plate, our server said they rarely have it. It's like a sweeter grouper. Ordering options were fried, grilled, or blackened. Opted for the healthier grilled version and it did not disappoint. Our sides were veggies (squash and carrots) which were very flavorful, a long with cheesy grits, which were the right amount of cheesy. Shrimp came with rémoulade and cocktail sauce from the house and it was also quite tasty. Along with the grits from the fish dinner plate.

    Grouper and sides...everything disappeared quickly.

Awesome food, great service...we've been starved for grouper and they had it as their catch of the day! We had it fried because that's the way our local place did it, and it did not disappoint...we also ordered two appetizer orders of grouper bites blackened and they disappeared incredibly quick. We had grits, dirty rice and cole slaw and ALL were great. Chloe was our server, and she was equally wonderful. Certainly worth a

I hate giving a review like this but felt like our experience needed to be shared. We were so excited to come try out Shrimpys on the waterfront after a recommendation from a local. We also heard they have beignets so it was so great excitement. We get there and it's packed- it's a weekend/ evening/ holiday so that's fine. We get seated and order our food.. and then wait.. and wait.. and we wait so long that the waitress finally brings out a free appetizer because we still don't have our food. Drinks are melted and long since drank. After awhile, we waited so long we were about to talk to a manager saying cancel the food and we'll just go somewhere else. By this time we had waited OVER 2 HOURS, with no apologies no explanation of what was going on. Our waitress eventually stopped coming over to the our table and we couldn't even find her, pretty sure she was avoiding us because there still wasn't anything that we came there for on the table. Right as we were going to find a manager they brought the food out, and it was incredibly disappointing. They claim to style their food after New Orleans cuisine, but I've been to NOLA several times and if you have too you'd know this is not any kind of worthy representation. I'm not sure if we caught them on an extra bad day in the kitchen but it was like they forgot to season the food- and if you know creole, the seasoning is everything. My friends jambalaya was so dry he tried pouring the sauce from our appetizer on it just to try and revive it, which didn't work. My seafood quesadilla was just cheese, shrimp and scallops and hardly any seasoning or any way to make it take not bland. This was all just so disappointing. We had a party of 5- so it was a slightly bigger party but still no reason to wait 2+ hours for food, and with absolutely no apology or cutting some things off the bill (besides an appetizer of chips we didn't order like an hour before) it literally and metaphorically put a bad taste in our mouths. I'm not sure I would ever have an interested in coming back here. We never got the beignets either.

Great food good service. We split the seafood bayou eggs Benedict and the king crabcake eggs Benedict. Super cook perfectly cooked excellent all around. Very nice waterfront views we happened to see dolphins. Great spot. Highly recommended

This was our second time dining at Shrimpys. There is outdoor and indoor dining available. My husband could not stop thinking about the Torpedo. We had to come by so he could get it again. It is a French bread loaf filled with shrimp and scallops. It looks amazing but I am allergic to shrimp unfortunately. I had the fried grouper sandwich. It was huge and so good! Our server Holly did a great job. If you are in the area, you should stop by!

    Bland crab cakes- no spice

Was going to give it a 3 but after looking at the total experience I'm dropping it to two stars...Food is too expensive nowadays...I'm not going to be as liberal with my ratings anymore if they are going to charge a lot...High prices equals high expectations....These places need to bring their "A" games from here on out..The pressure's on...I got the crab cake dinner, and a side/house salad...First thing that aggravated me was the fact that when I got my salad and was literally two bites into it the cook/bus buy brought me my crab cake dinner....it was a fairly large salad so I knew my dinner wouldn't stay warm...When I mentioned it to the waitress she said the cooks must have been bored ?? What kind of service is that ? Ehat kind of ship are they running ? She did tell me they have a heat lamp to which I replied, "that's fine, that will work"....Well when I was done with my salad she brought me the crab cakes and either their heat lamp is broken or they don't have one because my food was kind of warm and by the time I was done eating my food it was room temperature....The crab cakes themselves were very bland....I was thinking they would have some spice to them but nope...Also, they only give you two small ones...That's about enough for a child, and for $30 we should get 3 for that price...Again, higher prices higher standards..The dirty rice and beans were ok and felt like they were missing something for 5 stars...I'll give those 4 stars...The veggie of the day was brussel sprouts with balsamic and parmesan...They were cooked perfect...4 out of 5 stars for those too...The salad was just ok and the citrus/ginger dressing let me down...Too much ginger and again it was missing something.. .Overall this was a big let down for something that was supposed to be similar to the Big Easy....I had much higher expectations....One thing of note this place is a Buffalo Bills Backers bar ....Apparently it gets filled with Bills fans on gamedays and they will extend their operating hours for them...For instance, if they normally close at 9pm and the Bills game goes till 11pm then they stay open till 11.

Infamous Cajun Bloody Mary's! Double Shot Delicious!

Stopped in for our favorite Cajun Brunch at Shrimpy's on Blind Pass starting with their infamous Cajun Spicy Bloody Mary's topped with marinated hot green beans. After getting relaxed on their rear waterfront outdoor patio & bar we ordered the Shrimp-n-Grits. After nearly a decade at this location it's still a favorite and regular stop of ours! Service is Great! Food is Delicious and ambiance of waterside Oldé Florida ! Love this Bar!

Seafood gumbo, shrimp jambalaya, scallops Alfredo, and key lime pie were all delicious. Live guitarist Daniel was awesome.we sat on the patio to enjoy the view, which was beautiful at sunset, but it was too loud to talk. Service was great.

These two dishes are amazing. The service at the bar with Danielle was outstanding. Drinks were yummy. The place is cool looking and has indoor and outdoor seating. They do charge more using a credit card, so if you bring cash you don't pay the cc surcharge.

Good times. Classic seafood by the water type vibe. Very NOLA inspired. Service was chill, as it was also that time for late lunch, before dinner rush if there is one. Some classics, fish dip, fried green tomatoes, but then some fun stuff beyond Po' Boys.. the one sandwich with the garlic shrimp & scallops shoved into the baguette was legit! Would def go back for lunch sometime.

This is the kind of place that feels like it's been around forever, in the best way. Spacious for the area, lively without being chaotic, and backed by attentive service that keeps things moving even when it's busy. The menu is extensive, and then just when you think you've seen it all, there's a specials board tucked away with even more to choose from. If you can time your visit right, Tuesday is the move. They run a buy one pound, get one pound half off deal on snow crab legs, and it's easily one of the best values around. The snow crab legs are fresh and satisfying, and the Dungeness crab holds its own as well. Both pair perfectly with their rich, drawn butter, simple but done right. Portion sizes here are no joke. The shrimp skewers are almost excessive in the best way. Three skewers loaded with roughly eight shrimp each, so you're looking at around two dozen shrimp total, all a solid medium-large size. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause when it hits the table. The shrimp pasta is another standout and clearly a house favorite. It's packed with flavor and easily one of the more memorable dishes on the menu. Good enough that ordering a second one to-go actually makes sense. The clam chowder, though, was the one miss. While it's loaded with plenty of clam meat and has a hearty base, there's a slightly smoky flavor that throws it off. If you're a chowder fan, it might not hit the mark. Probably something to skip next time. As for the crab cakes, they passed a pretty tough test. A Maryland native at the table gave them a strong approval, which says a lot. Pro tip: Get there early, ideally around lunch, if you want to lock in that snow crab deal. It's popular, and you don't want to risk missing out. Overall, this is a reliable, crowd-pleasing seafood spot that leans into big portions, solid execution, and a relaxed coastal vibe. Whether you're a local or just visiting St. Pete Beach, it's an easy recommendation and definitely worth a return trip.

She got the shrimp and scallops pasta, while I got the seafood deluxe pasta, and it was out of this world. Parking is minimum $50 a day + fees. A cocktail? For an hour? Haha no. I'm being mildly disingenuous. The bar staff (and likely restaurant staff) will give you a QR code to validate all $58 of your parking. But it made me acutely miss a time when you could just park and patronize an establishment. Just don't forget to validate your parking, cuz they sure didn't ask preemptively. They were celebrating a 3-day grand reopening when we went on Saturday. There was *one* artisan in their market space. The music was pumping loud enough to not be able to converse. Although it drew a crowd of younger folks, there was not much to behold from the "grand" reopening. Not even s cost of paint. The beach bar may not have been part of the sprucing up idk, I didn't see anything worth celebrating. I meant to look at the size of the cocktail cup that we got (small), but $13-14 for a cocktail is highway robbery for the end result. And $18 for 6 wings ($3 a wing) was a little disappointing. I expected better of a Hilton adjoined restaurant. No one part was terrible. It was just the way they matched up - loud, expensive, small portions. If you're loud maybe you're cheap and tasty. If you're expensive, maybe you're fast and delicious. This was all the worst parts of a bar that doesn't care about its patrons' economics. A bar that wants to serve tourists with mediocrity and move on to the next crop of people who will never be there again. If you're a tourist it'll probably be fine, if overpriced. If you're a local, don't bother. To be fair, we should ask if there was anything good. hm ... no. We won't be returning. 3 stars is probably generous.

There were hardly any cars or people sitting outside. Then a server opened the door...and at around 7pm we found the spot kinda empty. Good or bad sign? They sat us down and looked at the menu. It looked good but didn't see much variety. It was much higher type of seafood dishes and beef options. We did come here bc of a reservation so we went further. We chose the mussels in a tomato sauce as appetizers to begin. We ordered the Pinot Grigio and unfortunately I had to send mine glass back bc it just wasn't a good wine. Had to ask for more bread bc you can't give me mussels with a great sauce and not use bread to finish it. They were good size mussels. We shared the entree which was the seafood pappardelle pasta in a cream sauce which had lobster, shrimp, and scallops. The sauce was good but they must have salted the pasta a bit too much which def made the dish richer. The service was good, but for the prices here you'd expect something more since the server did not know about the sauces and how things were prepared. Kinda of a bummer when she had to go back to the chef to ask. But it seemed everything was just higher in price. Overall it was ok. Just for the prices, you expect the food to be exceptional.
