Brussel Sprouts with Onion Rings on Top
    Angela R.

My son and I ate dinner here this week while we were in the area. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated, so not bad. While we were waiting outside, we were looking over the menu and another nice family that was walking by stopped us and said it was great and worth the wait. It had a nice relaxing outdoor setting where we sat. We started off with some pita crisps and a dip. It was very tasty. My son's meal came with a salad which he said was good. He also ordered the Chicken Alfredo with the chicken blackened, which was good. I ordered appetizers as my meal. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp and the Brussel Sprouts. I thoroughly enjoyed the Coconut Shrimp. The Brussel Sprouts were ok. It was a little too heavy on the soy sauce for my liking.

This place was excellent. I had blackened snapper and The Hubs had fra' diavolo pasta with shrimp and lobster. Our server was great. I believe his name was Dante. We sat on the patio and it was very comfortable. I even got a little of the sauce to take home because it was so delicious.

I have lived in the area for almost 8 years and always wanted to check out this place! Finally made it this past weekend, we waited about 10-15 mins for an outdoor table. Service was pretty good. My husband ordered the stuffed grouper and I got the cashew mahi mahi. Both were super flavorful and delicious! Only thing I didn't like was that there didn't appear to be a bar on the inside.

This review is really a 4.5 , but it's not allowed. I really liked this restaurant, and I'm sure I'll return. The service was top notch (thanks Doug) and the outside porch is upscale, modern, and comfortable. The early bird offerings are really nice, and the portions were generous. I enjoyed the fried zucchini appetizer (perfect) , the house salad (surprisingly good), and the broiled captains platter. The fish tasted very fresh and the portion was great. A little sear or grill to the fish would have been a perfect score from me, but maybe that's a lot to expect at this price point.

This spot was DELICIOUS and absolutely impressed me at the price point! My husband and I came during the early dining special, and got 2 entrees and an app for under $50! We started with the sweet potato fries which were very thick--soft in the center with crispy edges which were great. The parm crème on the side tasted even better than I expected! My meal was the linguini Alfredo with jumbo shrimp. The Alfredo sauce was incredible!! This was my favorite part of the meal. The past was cooked perfectly. The shrimp was good but nothing spectacular in my opinion. My side salad was delicious with the balsamic vinaigrette! I loved this even more than I expected. Same with the key lime pie--this isn't a go-to for me, but it had just the right combination of sweet and tang, and the crust was the perfect texture. The perfect way to end the meal! My husbands' captains platter was delicious as well. The haddock was my favorite part! The flavor of their breading and fryer oil was very light, which made this meal even better than I expected. Even the fries which looked pretty average to me were crispier and tastier than I expected! The restaurant was smaller than I thought, and we got a table outside despite it being a little chilly, in order to avoid a 30 minute wait at 5pm on a Monday. We did enjoy the plastic enclosure that blocked out the wind, and heating lamps that helped with the cold. Our server did a great job for us as well--it was clear he didn't have many tables, so he checked on us often. I highly recommend this spot, and especially their early dinner special for an incredible deal!

There was a bit of a wait for a table, but totally worth it. The Brussels sprouts were fried perfectly and tossed in a bright, citrusy ponzu with crispy onions on top--so good. The zucchini sticks were great too, especially with their cocktail-based tiger sauce. For the main course, I had the Risotto Oceana, and wow... the scallops were honestly the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked and paired with a creamy garlic risotto. We finished with the key lime pie, which was absolute chef's kiss. Highly recommend!

This was actually our 2nd visit to Snapper's Sea Grill. We were here last year. I realized I did not leave a review. The food was good both times. Snapper's is right on the main st of St. Pete's Beach, Gulf Blvd. There is plenty of parking in the back. The entrance is shaded, makes it somewhat intimate. The trees provide nice cover for the outside seating area. The inside is small and dim. The tables have soft lighting. Our server greeted us immediately. He was friendly, efficient and attentive. Appetizer: 4 Jumbo Caribbean shrimp rolled in sweet coconut, flash fried with Chef's dipping sauce. It is a delicious app. The shrimp on this side of Florida are sweeter and fresher. Entrees: Fisherman's Platter - Fried jumbo shrimp, bay scallops and fish filet with Fries and slaw. My husband ordered double shrimp in place of the scallops. Everything is fried heaven. Orange Glazed Salmon - Asian inspired glaze, broiled Atlantic salmon over spinach bed with sticky rice. This was delicious. The salmon was so perfectly cooked, it melted in my mouth. The server bought out a decadent cheesecake with Happy Birthday and a candle on it. The entire experience was superb.

The food was AMAZING...all around. The shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly, so was the risotto. The mango chutney was fire on snapper. Even my son's pizza was good. Service was great. We had Mel-she was fantastic. She was always there with what we wanted/needed. We chose the patio. Warm day but the ambiance was chill even still. They have the see through curtains to stop the road noise and I think it helped a lot. Would def go back if we make it back to this area!

This was our first trip to Snappers. Definitely One of the better meals I have had while we've been in the area for the last 2 months. I had fresh stuffed Grouper which was amazing. Puffed pastry potato was also very good. My wife had fish and fries, upgraded to the grouper and she said it was also excellent. Not an inexpensive meal but definitely worth it.

we walked in here for a date night based on vibes alone. the lush landscaping and decor drew us in. we got seated immediately and the server did such a good job describing the menu that we ordered without even looking at it by his recommendations. they serve a salad with a homemade dressing that was to die for. i've never tasted anything like it. they also served hummus and flatbread (which was crispy, not soft, but actually amazing). we both loved our entrees which were off the specials menu. the snapper was so tender and flavorful. we were only in town for a few days and we went there twice because of how amazing it was. 10/10 recommend.

My granddaughter went with the kids shrimp meal. My wife and I shared the fish and chips meal that came with house salad and house sauce. There are complementary chips and humans that co Ed with your meals. This is a Military friendly restaurant.

Stuffed grouper! Everything delicious. I didn't eat the flower. Sorry vegans!
    Matt R.

Found this on Yelp and of course had to try it. Locally owned and the dishes were really great. I had the stuffed grouper with a Florida beer and it really was fantastic and full of flavor! We also had the wasabi tuna which was massive. Our server again was super helpful and also worked at their parter restaurant 1200°. I forgot his name but he was great and calm and full of recommendations. The portions here were amazing and it was fairly priced. We did hear if you get here early there's specials but that's ok we didn't. Oh I must mention the salad which everyone went crazy over the dressing. I'd bottle the stuff!! We sat outside which i think was the better choice with the weather and the lights they had. Highly recommend

Does anyone know if there are long waits for Saturday night at Snappers in St Pete since they don't take reservations?

There is a wait, but they have an outside beer and wine bar to help pass the time. I think normal wait is 20-30 minutes on weekends.

Arrived to about a 1/2 full restaurant which was smaller than we expected. Seated promptly, menus presented, water ordered as my husband wanted to have time to look at the drink menu. We settled on the lunch menu with an order of bolognese and the meatball appetizer that we would share since Italian food is usually plentiful and filling. My husband also later ordered a glass of wine. Shortly after we were delivered bread to our table and we were confused because it looked like garlic knots. My husband said something to our waitress and I questioned maybe this bread goes with our lunch entree with the waitress standing right there and agreeing with me. We are not normally bread eaters and the more we looked at it, we thought it was a mistake. We flagged our waitress again as she was walking by and asked again. This time she said, "you did not order garlic knots?" and we said no, we ordered the meatball appetizer. She promptly takes the bread, goes back to the kitchen area and I thought I heard her say "lunch" to the chef, I assume. Not sure why this was confusing as my husband literally pointed at the lunch menu as he was ordering and saying we were going to split. Not a big deal at this point but then it seems like moments later she is back with the meatballs and the bolognese. We look at the dishes and we were literally shocked. We had never seen such small meatballs (2) for an appetizer for $9. I thought the meatballs would be redundant since we ordered bolognese but there was so little meat in the dish (maybe 2-3 teaspoons at the most) and so little pasta (think small salad bowl or plate size) that it was not redundant at all. A side of bread was brought with dipping oil as well. It was mid afternoon and we were very hungry at this point so we started eating.. Sadly the meatballs and bolognese were brought to us luke warm as if they had been warmed up. We certainly did not have a long wait so they were not sitting cooling down anywhere. We just ate our meal and ended up eating the bread (which was excellent) because it was not enough food for us. The waitress checked on us towards the end of our meal and finally brought my husband's 1/2 glass of $10 wine (we thought she had forgotten). We did not mention the temperature of the food because at that point we had already eaten it most of it. Looking at other reviews now I see some people did mention luke warm food and the owner did not seem to believe them. We know what was presented to us and yes, it was luke warm. We thought the food was pricey for what you get and the luke warm food on top of it makes us have no inclination to try this restaurant again. Overall we were not wowed by the quality of the food except the bread which we normally never eat.

This is the kind of place that feels like it's been around forever, in the best way. Spacious for the area, lively without being chaotic, and backed by attentive service that keeps things moving even when it's busy. The menu is extensive, and then just when you think you've seen it all, there's a specials board tucked away with even more to choose from. If you can time your visit right, Tuesday is the move. They run a buy one pound, get one pound half off deal on snow crab legs, and it's easily one of the best values around. The snow crab legs are fresh and satisfying, and the Dungeness crab holds its own as well. Both pair perfectly with their rich, drawn butter, simple but done right. Portion sizes here are no joke. The shrimp skewers are almost excessive in the best way. Three skewers loaded with roughly eight shrimp each, so you're looking at around two dozen shrimp total, all a solid medium-large size. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause when it hits the table. The shrimp pasta is another standout and clearly a house favorite. It's packed with flavor and easily one of the more memorable dishes on the menu. Good enough that ordering a second one to-go actually makes sense. The clam chowder, though, was the one miss. While it's loaded with plenty of clam meat and has a hearty base, there's a slightly smoky flavor that throws it off. If you're a chowder fan, it might not hit the mark. Probably something to skip next time. As for the crab cakes, they passed a pretty tough test. A Maryland native at the table gave them a strong approval, which says a lot. Pro tip: Get there early, ideally around lunch, if you want to lock in that snow crab deal. It's popular, and you don't want to risk missing out. Overall, this is a reliable, crowd-pleasing seafood spot that leans into big portions, solid execution, and a relaxed coastal vibe. Whether you're a local or just visiting St. Pete Beach, it's an easy recommendation and definitely worth a return trip.
