I went into the Mayfield store today to look for furniture to repurpose an unused formal dining room. I have been feeling so uninspired with everything I've looked at until today. They have such a fun new collection (Erin &Ben with Best Home Furnishings) and I fell in love with the fun colors and charm of this furniture that it totally pivoted the direction I want to go with this room. Dirty bastards. My parents furnished an entire home in Beachwood from Fish,. We were good customers and deserved better treatment. Some years ago my mother bought a very expensive bed from them as a surprise gift to me. They delivered it with what turned out to be a frame that was too light for a substantial queen size mattress and box. After a while the frame collapsed under the weight, it was the wrong frame. I think it was meant for a twin, not a queen. By then my mother was a stroke patient in an assisted living center and wasn't going to be furnishing any more homes so Fish decided to just f#%ck the old lady and refused to replace the frame, not even with another cheap one because it was past any warranty date. What a lousy thing to do to her. Know what? Ive spent maybe 10 to 15k on furniture since then, and I did not spend it at Fish. Cheap bastards. A new frame would have cost them what, $25/$50? Probably more like $5 given the quality.Their lack of decency to a sick old woman who'd been a very loyal customer and the son who took care of her cost them thousands in additional sales. I posted about this before but I think my review may have been deleted. I cant find it. I hate you Fish Furniture. I curse you. May you're inventory be infested with bed bugs. read more

Fish Furniture Mayfield Heights Ohio. Never purchase a Mattress from them. They sold us a $5000.00 system The sales person obviously was great at selling a Serta without understanding anything about the mattress and retractable system. Within two years we had deep depressions where we both sleep. Yes there is a warranty but impossible to implement. if you are under 5' 6" having a lift at your feet will never be practical either; one needs to have legs as long as the bed. also the back lift is impractical in that one's pillow slips or falls between the frame and mattress. What a waste of money. Never trust the sales person. I expected expert advice from what I thought was a reputable store. We already need a new mattress. read more

Let me start with that I would rather watch a terrible Cleveland Browns team then shop for furniture. This was my on my second week of sofa shopping dissatisfactions. There is some ugly over priced furniture out there. Then I tried Fish and walked out buying a couch. They have a great selection and the place is huge. I got lost in the downstairs. Quality appears to be good as well. I didn't get that, this will never last feeling (IKEA). They were down to 2 salespeople like everyone else, but that just gives you enough time to check things out. read more

My mom went into this furniture store yesterday to look for a leather chair and proceeded to get berated by a man "what are you doing in here? What do you want" very unfriendly and as soon as she said she would just go to Levin furniture the man replied "whatever you see there, I'll match it." I am extremely appalled at her treatment, as if she was not supposed to shop at this establishment. Well don't worry, we won't and we will be sure to spread the word. It seems that if you look a certain way, you shouldn't shop there. My mother is a nurse and comes from a family of doctors, how dare you assume, and treat someone with such disrespect. Talk about Fish customer service! We purchased a beautiful Durham solid wood bedroom set from Fish Furniture over 20 years ago. Despite the age of this set, we continue to appreciate the exceptional quality and timeless style of this Fish purchase. Unfortunately over twenty years the set was showing some stain/finish wear and tear primarily around the bases from vacuum cleaners, dogs and five relocations. We initially contacted a local refinishing business to see if they could perform the repairs, but they didn't provide an in-home service and would require the set be brought to the shop. On a whim, I thought I'd contact Fish to see if they were aware of someone that they would recommend. To my surprise, they said they ABSOLUTELY could, as they had a person on their staff for 30 years that did this sort of work for their Fish customers!! This is a 20 year old purchase! Within a week they had Bob out who was able to bring these pieces back to their original beauty and we could not be more pleased. Fish Furniture takes care of their customers! Thank You!! read more

Bought a leather sofa and chair that I was assured was made in the USA. Sofa back very sloppy. Seems to be a manufacturing defect and should be replaced. Fish sent out their people to correct it and tech and upholsterer said cannot be fixed because it's an issue with manufacturer, and oh says the technician...furniture is a USA company but manufactured in China NOT USA. Then get a call from Fish saying so sad, too bad. Now I am stuck holding a defective sofa and chair, still with tags on and that has been paid for, and Fish Furniture will not remedy the issue. I will never buy another item from this disreputable company again. read more

Dan Geller (the owner of Fish Furniture) truly cares about his customer's satisfaction. I cannot recall ever experiencing such outstanding customer service. We experienced a problem (no fault of Fish) with our order the week we were expecting delivery. There was an unexpected issue with the fabric supplier. Even though this problem was out of Fish Furniture's control Dan Geller stepped up and went above and beyond to remedy the situation. In addition to that Temple furniture (the brand of sofas we were purchasing) also stepped up to make things right even though the problem was not their fault as well. The integrity and customer service displayed by Dan Geller and Temple Furniture is second to none! Dan bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. I would also like to mention Lauren R. salesperson extraordinaire! We worked with Lauren 10 years ago to furnish our family room. My husband and I were long over due for a new mattress. Originally were going to go to one of those free standing "mattress stores" but after talking to my brother who had gone to Fish Furniture for a new mattress and raved about not only how great their new mattress was, but how impressed he with the service, attention and the knowledge of the sales people we headed over to Fish instead. Just walking in the door you could tell that this place sold quality pieces. Their living, dining and bedroom selection looked huge. We were greeted right away and shown downstairs where the mattresses are nicely displayed. The salesperson explained about the different types of mattresses and after talking to us about what we like he quickly zeroed in on ones to try. We were able to pick one out, order and were out of their in a timely manner which made my shopping adverse husband happy. Delivery was set up and the two young men who delivered it were polite and professional. Fulfilling the customer needs is the best customer service a business can provide and Fish Furniture @ SOM Center stands a best example reflecting these words. In Indian culture, we sit down on the floor criss-cross for dining and when we were ready to buy dining table, I went on the internet looking for something that will suit my need. I found Japanese dining tables, but wasn't sure about how it would work (esp., the height) and didn't want to order something that may not work. A few years ago we bought Tempurpedic mattress from Fish Furniture and have a very good experience working with Dan there. So, we approached him and explained our needs. He was quick to acknowledge our needs and pulled the catalog and helped us identify the models that could be modified for our needs. Once, we found what we liked and ordered, he asked his carpenter to make a temporary make-shift dining table with five wooden legs and card board. He asked us to use this as our temporary dining table and asked us to adjust the height by adding a few books to the legs and try it out. He advised us to try various heights to identify the comfortable settings. When the order arrived at his warehouse, he called us to confirm our preferences and modified the legs to suit our specifications. Today, every Indian friend who visits my house envies our dining table. They inquire about how we got this made - and we just say "Go see Dan @ Fish, and he will make you one too..".
