Utilizes positive reinforcement through both good treats and verbal cues (I really had to work on being more exciting so I became a high value reward). I learned a lot and continue to recommend Diane and Jim to anybody who has a new dog in their household. Some tricks are taught as a game so you and your dog are excited to do them. I still regularly play the 'come touch' game with my bc and she thinks it's the best. I think it's great because I never have to be nervous that she wont come when called we're at the dog park or on a hike. It is a bit remote, so be sure you are willing to commit to the drive before registering. I can vouch that it's worth the drive!

I posted a negative review with pictures about my experience here on FB as well as other locations including Yelp!. If you read my review, you will see we had tried to speak with her in-person before posting...thinking it could have been an employee. Anyway, long story short, we were met with unprofessional behavior...I have also seen similar reviews in other places. This has led to almost a year long cycle of this business owner leaving me "compliments" on Yelp! as a method to reach me directly and make belligerent statements. Until recently, that's all they were. Was just sent one today threatening to find where I work and hassle me. I had to finally consider my children's safety in this all and decided it best to file a police report and I am considering a harassment order if the law enforcement warning does not stop it escalating further. In my opinion this just goes to show the validity of my concerns and still concerns me there was and never has been any concern shown or mentioned for our sweet shihtzu. I will not be bullied into removing an honest review and account of our experience.

People bought us gift certificates because I talked about how I was so delighted with the whole thing. Since the ownership changed over, we had a terrible experience when one of the employees snapped at my daughter -- who loved to come and help wash our dog -- for something the employee herself did. I did not go back for a long time because of that experience, and when I decided to give them another try, it was another terrible experience. Asked for a dog nail trim, and the employee wanted me to sit on the floor in the lobby and hold my full-size, soaking wet, uncooperative dog still so she could clip her nails. Clipped some too short, dog was bleeding. Didn't clip some nails at all. Charged double what it was previously. I did a large portion of the work. Was the single most chaotic dog nail trim I have ever experienced in my life, and I used to work for the Humane Society. I want them to do well as a business because I think it is a good concept and a good location and I would love to be able to utilize the business. Other people have had positive experiences, or so it looks like. Our experience since the new owners took over has been one of prickly unwelcomeness. But maybe what I think is rude is actually normal among the young people who work there, and I just don't understand.

Crazy to think that ending up with 2 rescue style dogs, within months of eachother that were more so in the "timid" category. One we have had one since last November that just went for her first time about a 2 weeks ago, then came home, saved another and decided he was breaking out of his shell and after just the first experience, we figured "let's see what Jess can do!!" Sure enough, the dogs once again loved every bit of it, the contact each time was on point, her attitude and hospitality while also giving you a hint of how she runs her business. Thats how it's done!! But also, the flexibility was perfect, easy to get ahold of and definitely knows what she's doing. Even on our trip we got to share with everyone all the pictures AND videos she was gladly enough to offer!! Our little girls kept saying right off the bat how much they missed there puppy the first time, but shortly after the pics and videos started coming in and had the whole rental car holding back tears of joy and definitely some laughter. Blows your mind sometimes that just from just a random call from word of mouth, BAM! Just like that, it might not be often, but the "shy, timid" doggos that once were, now have a second home whenever they visit just like that. And she sure is a whisperer, because that shell they were trying to break of is gone!! We're not quick to judge good or bad, but remember it's all in the real time confrontation. She nailed it!
