This place has been around for over a decade, and I just discovered it - truly a hidden gem even though it's right off the main highway (259) closer to south Hochatown. Seasonal Mulled Wine - Tastes just like hot apple cider except it's wine mixed with apple cider via whatever process they use. I enjoyed a glass of it by their Christmas-decorated fireplace and bought several bottles to take home. It's a MUST if you are there around the Christmas holiday. Six free tastings is a nice start when you walk into the front door! I tried all of the dry reds, but they also have whites, muscadines, and other wines to try. The Cabernet was tasty, so I also bought a bottle of it (under $25). Their wines tasted more like legit wines as opposed to some of the popular touristy "wineries" in the area who sell based on cheesy marketing. They have a small gift shop by the bar with funny tea towels and other wine-related items. The conjoined bistro and outside patio has great seating; I loved the couch by the fireplace for sips. The staff was kind and engaged in fun conversation. I look forward to visiting this place again on my next Broken Bow trip and trying the food. read more

Service was good, but it took a long time for the food to come out despite being one of 4 tables occupied during December. 25min to get food and we didnt happen to see the server again until 15min after we had finished eating. I enjoyed my club sandwich and appreciated that it didnt have that extra middle bread common of the club sando. Salad was fine, these are definitely pre-made Kraft dressings, I wish they had made their dressings in house. This spot is decently easy to find and accessible, we parked right out front and were greeted in the front room where we made our selections and placed our snack order. It was a VERY chilly but sunny day so the mulled wine sounded great to me. I only sampled the blueberry, and this one and decided it was perfect. I'm at home now and kind of regretting not getting a bottle. We ordered our glasses and had a seat in the next room that had all the seating. We were nearly done with our drinks when our food came out, and we nearly ordered more but we were trying to pack as much as we could into a Saturday and a ton of these places close super early so it was time to move along. The charcuterie board had some excellent selections and was more than enough for 4 of us, but I will say maybe preserves or mustard or honey might be nice. Some kinda sauce... Many times while in the moment you buy some bottles that you tasted only to open one once home to think "why did I buy this?" Oh wow! It has been a while since we have visited and our daughter, son-in-law and grandson were visiting Hochatown with us and we decided to go to an old standby of ours. You wouldn't think warm bread and herbed olive oil would be so exciting....but you would be WRONG! Absolutely perfect toasted mini french loaves that were crispy on the outside and nice and soft inside and the olive oil tasted like very good quality olive oil. Disclaimer: I see a lot of reviews raving about the snacks and food, and we didn't try either! So, keep that in mind. The atmosphere was strange... when we think winery, we're picturing a valley of grapes or a hillside retreat. However, the deck of this tasting location was in front of the literal highway. Maybe we had unrealistic expectations being out-of-towners, but we were disappointed. The wine is very lacking. We learned from a couple locals after this experience that majority of the local "wineries" use a grape concentrate, likely from California, to create their own wines. I definitely think this shows in quality and overall taste, but the prices are very reasonable. I wouldn't come back, and it wouldn't be on our next "to stop" list, but reading other reviews, it seems like a loved establishment. This place was great! I was in town visiting and we stumbled across this place during lunchtime. We had a decent sized group (7) and they were able to accommodate us inside. We started off with the dip flight and all of them were very tasty. It comes with tortilla chips and bread. Next, I ordered the apple-bacon Gouda sandwich and I really enjoyed it. The service was great although they were extremely busy. The food may take a while to come out since they don't have a lot of staff support but they are kind. My friends and I just came back from Fish Tales and this is truly a hidden gem! We did the wine tasting and the owner was so kind and helpful. The food was amazing. But my guess is that you'd still enjoy great service based on the staff we met. I recommend the Dip Flight, every dip was delicious and honestly the portion was enough to feed 4 people. A hidden gem. Don't be fooled by the name this is a real nice winery with a great selection of wines and blends. Love this place. Russell was our host. A delightful young man with some stories to tell - just talk to him. The viniter Andy came out later and spoke with us, told us little bit of the story behind the place and his experience with grapes. We did a great complimentary wine-tasting of 6 wines, then sat out with a charcuterie cheese boards and a glass of wine each. Wonderful patio outside to sit and enjoy the area and people going in and out. Must stop if you're going through or staying in the area. They offer six free wine tastings from an expansive, yet selective menu, but if another catches your eye, they're not stingy. Russell is super informative when it comes to the wines and is great at serving up a bar full of tasting patrons. I walked away with two really tasty moscatos and a few nifty corks/spouts. The food in the bistro was great, too. Try any of the the paninis from the menu, you won't be disappointed.
