I must say I was so appreciative of the food that was donated to me and my husband, but the attitudes were not welcoming. When I first had my initial interview, I explained that my husband has had two strokes and I stopped working as an educator to see about him. I also let them know that my 20 year-old son was staying with us as well. The very first interview I had I made sure to let them know that we do not have any income coming in and bills are being paid with our pension . They went on with the proceedings anyway. I was called back three times for information that I had already given to the first interviewer. After my interview, the guy instructed me to come to the building to pick up food. When I got to the building, I knocked on the door and a lady with brown hair answered. She was rude and not welcoming and letting me know that I needed to pull my car around to the back Of the building. But she was so nasty when she said it. Let me remind you I went and applied for assistance that Thursday morning. I turned in all documents. The Lady explained to me that they had everything they needed, and they would make a decision and call me back.I had to call the organization back three times to find out if we had been approved or not. I finally got a phone call back at 3pm on Friday asking me again about my son income, which I had already explained he lost his job due to transportation. By Monday still hadn't heard anything so I decided to reach out to my electric company, thinking they had already reached out to them, which they had not. So here comes Tuesday morning , I called again and that's when the director called me back after leaving message. After all that getting my bills together sending in personal information, just to be told we cannot help you because you don't have any income coming in. I explained that we did not have income in the beginning of the interview. I just feel like if this is one of the things that people should have in order to get help, why would you not mention that in the beginning. Why take a person through thinking that the organization is gonna help and you knew in the beginning that there was no income in the household just to let someone know you can't help. I also want to add I did get attitude from two of the employees that worked there over the phone. Why volunteer or work in an environment like this and your attitude is bad. I even asked one of the ladies why no one called me back on Thursday and Friday ( I reached out on Friday) she told me with a very nasty attitude "Well I had an emergency and I had to shut the office down". I understand emergencies, but did you take into consideration that I told yall my power was going to be cut off that Thursday if a payment was not made. The communication and attitudes was unacceptable especially for organizations that is supposed to be helping people and Christian based. I honestly feel like it's already enough pressure for people to go and ask for help. Especially in my situation. Me and my husband have raised five children, and we do not receive help from organizations. We have been the type of couple that have donated, assisted and helped even within the school systems. We gave with happiness and gratitude. We made people feel like life happens and it's ok. It bothered me personally when I was told the fish organization will not assist and help people that do not have an ongoing income with bills, only food. This is something that they should let you know from the beginning. The director of the organization told me that this is one of their guidelines. They do not help or approve people that do not have a flowing income because it is a waste of their donated money if a person don't have income to pay for the next month. read more

I went to Fish today to get dress pants for work. Of course, the only pair that fit had a Goodwill price tag of $ 6.79 and a FISH tag of $ 8.75. I got to the cashier and said I will pay 6.79 and she said I don't price items. Pants were given to them for free, maybe next time the person overpricing items remembers to take off old price tags especially since other stores are cheaper than FISH. I also saw a very old GE small microwave with a sticker for $ 82. Brand new microwaves are $ 50 at Walmart. The other thrift store "His Glory Apparel" only charges $ 1.00 each for any type of clothes and they have 2/ 50% off days. FISH YOU NEED TO DO BETTER!!! read more

The most expensive "thrift store" I've ever seen. Everything is too expensive and it has an uninviting and judgmental atmosphere.

Extremely over priced to be a 'ministry thrift store'. I saw a sign that said they 'donated over $30,000 worth of clothes in 2016' well isn't that real nice of them to give away what was given to them!! Wow!! Believe me with their sky high prices, I don't think it hurt their pockets any! Examples: one Christmas stocking $5.99, one pair of boy shoes $5.99, a vase with fake flower stems $15.99, bubble blowing toy $6.99, rusty trolley jack $20... yeah we all think Goodwill is bad.. they got them beat--in a bad way! So very sad to see this! We go to get reasonable deals and most of all to help in our own small way a 'Christian' organization, unfortunately this place is just another example of the love of money! read more

Became more of a department retail store...there is no negotiating on prices...Prices are way way over priced for a thrift store...they used to be a good place looking for a bargain for people with limited income...they are looking out for the profits, not for the people in need. read more
