Wow what a gem! I never knew this is an office supplies store! I saw an old lady walking out from it and got curious. There were greeting cards for less than $2 by the window. I went inside and oooo they're selling my favorite items to buy - stationery! Found some Pentel pens for less than $1.50 each and I don't have to buy a whole pack like what amazon sells. The pen writes really smooth! Also got a no sharpening pencil with French fries character on top for my son. Then there's a small Casio pocket calculator for less than $3.50. They also got some Hawaii souvenirs like reusable shopping bags. The store is not small and I hope to spend more time inside next time to browse what else they have! read more

Deciding to spend my morning in Downtown I parked at a municipal parking and strolled around places that are visibly seen by two feet mores than driving. Fisher Hawaii is no different as the signage is small and I actually was looking out from Ross's window since they are right next to each other and noticed some storage bins which instantly got my interest in what kind of business this was. To my surprise it was Fisher Hawaii which I love as I'm lucky to work just blocks away in the Kaka'ako location always keeping a mental check list on my need/searching for items. No different from the town warehouse vibe the setup is quite simple and very basic no fancy display which is fine as long they are great with keeping prices affordable with the best selection of everything office/school/household items. Though this location is just a fraction the size it does have a great selection of probably their most popular items though you won't find furnitures here but snacks, and party items are fun to see as remembering last minute special dates makes it certainly a life saving moment. Somebody wanted red Sharpies, and I couldn't get them online - Fisher Hawaii has them individually, so I grabbed a quick half dozen. They have all colors and sizes of sharpie and other drawing and writing pens sold individually. I had requests for both plastic and paperboard clipboards - 3 of each. Done. They sell office furniture, but not always at this location, and some cleaning supplies as well. My husband can leave me in the store for hours. This store is located on Hotel Street, next door to Ross and Wal-Mart. Very easily noticeable from the street as they have big poster size ads in their window. I love the selection on pen, I love pens and need to keep buying cause either my husband or father-in-law takes mine and never returns them. The weekly ad helps me get an idea of what I may need or when's the best time to purchase certain supplies because sometimes they are cheaper than Walmart and other times not. But this location has a pretty good selection of craft and office pieces you may find yourself needing. One supply I specifically get here are the erasable pens. I can't begin to tell you how useful those pens have become in my line of work and planning out my months. Sometimes plans change or appointments and meetings get rescheduled that I find myself doing a quick beat fix. Team #anti white out here. I came in a while back to look for a specific box size to purchase in bulk for files and the worker was very helpful. She literally walked me to the aisle and found us some options. Even though this Fisher is smaller than some of the other locations, I like going here because they generally have a good selection of the necessities for work and school. I especially love their selection of pens, since they last forever and are very reasonably priced. This is also my go-to store when I need markers, stickers, or specialty paper. They also have a great selection of greeting cards in the front racks that are very reasonably priced. The stock is rotated pretty regularly, so you can also get seasonal cards when you need them. They aren't as fancy as Hallmark, but for most occasions, a card is just a card. Because this store is smaller, they don't always have the full range of supplies that you might need. For example, Moleskine notebooks and puffy paints are only at the larger stores. If you need something that's beyond the basics, they may not have it here. If you are looking for parking around here, I wish you the best of luck. I recommend visiting one of the other locations if you need to drive in. However, if you work in the area or are sightseeing, it's a good place to go for supplies. read more

I stop in this store frequently as it is on my way to my parking structure. I have always had good service. Then today I stopped in to buy pens for my mother-in-law. She likes the RSVP Kine. I also wanted to make sure I had all the pens I like to add to my collection so I put my purse on the ground and opened my pen bag to compare that I had them all or I would have bought more!! This male employee Out of nowhere comes up from behind me. Scares me. Asks me what I'm doing and I said the same thing. I comparing what I have to what I might need!! He said are you sure you are not stealing? I said no. I stop in all the time. I have never stolen from here!! He stood right there pretending not to watch me but he was. I gathered my purse together and the items I was going to purchase and went straight to the cash register. The girl asked me if I found everything ok and I just started crying. As I told her how that man that employee treated. I am blown away. I have never been accused of stealing in my life !I don't think I will ever go to them again. They just lost this customer. Just called the manger. What a waste of time that was. He said the employee in question told him about me. And that "once I opened my purse" I became suspect. Are you joking??? This is one of my favorite local Hawaii stores; specializing mostly in office supplies, they also carry craft supplies, and other fun things. This downtown location is mostly for supplies in general; they have a furniture showroom, but these items should be viewed at the Cooke Street location. This place is always busy, mostly because they have everything you need. I've purchased binders, pens, craft supplies, tape, minor hardware things, etc. There is usually a rush around lunch time, but the staff tries to be fast and efficient. They have lots of sales, consistently advertising in the paper and in store. Check it out! read more

The price is right that's why the two stars. The service isn't spectacular that's why the minus three stars. First off their point of sale system needs a MAJOR overhaul!! Who in this day and age doesn't use a scanner and bar codes? Not all items are tagged either and their system relies on the memory of their staff and their trusty binders full of copies of the sale items. what??? How could that be an efficient system? I spent more time in line waiting and paying than to grab my items today. During my transaction two other sales staff had to stop my cashier to ask her "do you know the price of this?". On other occasions I've been charged incorrectly to to the item being on sale but the cashier not remembering to check her binder. In downtown people want to get in and out quickly. Please consider a new system! But again... Price is right so if you need supplies fisher is the place. Just go with some patience. read more

I stopped going to Fisher a long time ago because they were more expensive for bad quality stuff. During covid, you try to do your part to support local, so I wanted to help them out and give them a chance again. Mistake!!! I bought some PPE and when I got it back to the office, it was defective. I took it back 20 minutes later and they said no refunds or returns. But how do you know it is defective until you take it home and open it. DO NOT shop here ever!!! Then I also bought a thermometer and when I opened it, it was a piece of crap from China that certainly cost them $2 but they marked it up to $75.00. I repeat, do to shop here they take advantage of the situation to sell you crap and will not let you exchange when you discover it doesn't work. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT shop here! I feel like an idiot for giving them another chance. Go to Home Depot, Office Depot, Longs, or where ever, at least you will get what you pay for and will not have issues replacing it when they are defective. read more

Fisher, I'm so glad you're near my workplace. That's all I can say. When a woman needs to go to a drug store to pick up toiletries, I go to Fisher to buy office products. Lately I've been so addicted to buying padfolios, reams of paper, Sharpies, pens, and gummy bears! The prices are so reasonable and the service is great! Always a smile on their faces. The only gripe, such like my last review, is more lanes need to be open in the mornings while I'm bum rushing it to work. Just finished my back-to-school supply shopping for an upcoming 4th grader and 1st grader, both at the same DOE school. We had some (but not much) of the supplies already but by going to Fisher in one fell swoop, I attacked the supply list and got this done during my lunch break today. The damage? $54 for two kids. Examples of ridiculous prices: $.27 for sharpies, $.99 for 6 folders with clasps, $.50 for a 24 pack of #2 pencils. This haul will generally last for the whole school year (there will be some supplementing to do but that's par for the course). You can pretty much get EVERYTHING here, it's easy access for those that work in downtown and the back-to-school sales make it really light on the budget so that I can spend my money at other Fort Street Mall establishments like Ahi & Vegetable or Lucky Belly. Go here for your back-to-school shopping. Support local and do not pay double at Walmart or Target, where you will not find everything on the list anyway (and that makes it more expensive if more than one trip is required). read more

Located in the busy (and interesting for people watching) intersection of Fort and Hotel Street, this store could fit into a small corner of their Cooke Street warehouse. It's a good place to get that emergency glue, pen, or paper that you just ran out of in the office and needed for that project deadline. Even though it's smaller, it has all of the basic stuff you'll need which is great because you can quickly stop by on your lunch break. Most likely you won't be driving down here. I have no idea where you would park anyways. You'd be visiting this place because it's in walking distance from work. This place gets a bonus bump because Hotel Street is always good for some free entertainment, especially with The Bus stop right there. read more

The only negative is parking can be hard sometimes, but there's ample meter parking along the street side as well and they've opened the other lot if it gets too full during super sale days (from what i've experienced). Fisher in many ways is the Ross Dress For Less of home and office supplies (which is awesome!).Trips to Fisher almost always end up with me taking home something from their vast, relatively inexpensive (and at times very disorganized) collections of seemingly random, à la carte home and office supplies. For many items, it seems like Fisher bought a ton of pre-packaged office supplies, tore those packages open, and began selling them priced per item (i.e. a Gelly Roll pen costs ~$1.30). In many instances, that's not such a bad idea. You gotta love their monthly ads! They typically come out the first week of every month, and their front page seems to always be littered with sales pitches in bold, italicized, 30-point font like "Sizzling Hot Deal!", "Super Low", or "Super Deal". ALRIGHT, FISHER, YOU GOT ME. I like to stroll down there and scope out their monthly specials during my lunch hour sometimes. Then, I report back to my fellow coworkers (and Fisher-regulars) with "yays" and/or "nays". Downtowners love Fisher, case and point. Call me strange and unusual, but I really enjoy office supply shopping (just keepin' it real). Like trips to the bookstore, I could spend hours in Fisher and actually have on some occasions. I have also only experienced excellent customer service. The contents of their aisles aren't spelled out very well, so most of the time I find myself seeking help from one of their employees. Parking is a bit of a pain for this Fisher location, but don't let that stop you from checking out this à la carte, office-supply haven. read more

Sometimes they even have items that are on sale/clearance right out side the store. The only downside is the fact that they have no air condition. This place has some serious deals on school supplies...makes me wish I had school-age children (well, not really!) :-) A co-worker enlisted several of us to go to the store to buy school supplies so she could donate them to her kids' school. Folders 1 cent each (limit 10) and protractors for 4 cents each (limit 3). So, each of us spent 22 cents each for the cause. I also picked up unlined composition pads for 25 cents each (limit 3) and a box of Crayola Crayons for 42 cents...as well as a cute little step with a storage bin. Okay, maybe, just for nerds like me. :-P Fishers sells mainly school and office supplies as well as electronics or decorating items. Really, when I used to be a student, I would stop by this Fishers location just to kill time before class or if I was stressed from all the studying, I'd take a break and thoroughly test their pen selection by writing on the sample paper provided (don't deny; you've tried it as well). :-) One thing I really appreciate about Fishers is that no one can beat their prices for school supplies. They even sell items individually, such as post-it pads, pens, or hi-lighters, and in bulk too. Granted, the majority of the items aren't mainstream, popular school/office brands, but the quality is just as good. If you want pink envelopes for personal use, a unique notebook with a nice design, or a wide selection of colored Sharpies, Fishers has it. Oh, and every Tuesdays and Fridays, Fishers participates in the Fort Street market and has a booth out selling their clearance items, which are discounted for cheap!
