Had a really great experience here. I went in to the store with my kids and Frank greeted me from behind the counter. I told him that I was looking to get my 3 year old son into fishing and he immediately walked me through my rod and reel options, and got his reel spoiled with fishing line. then he got some tackle picked out for us and even gave us a demonstration on how to set our line up for different fish and different locations. Was debating on a 3 star vs a 4. I give you a 3 just because some people are more helpful than others. I have gone here since 6 years old and the owner, Jack is one of the most helpful people there. There is another 2 young men that are helpful there as well. However, there is a man who has a black beard and is decently tall and has no patience and doesn't really help much. I do like their selection of salt and freshwater baits and prices are higher than TWH, but I can handle it. I would however I like to go to the Longfin more though. Just because everyone there is helpful and polite. So if you see Jack, he is DEFINITELY by far the person to help you. read more

Great selection of fishing equipment and staff is very friendly. But my first experience there had a couple bumps. There is a young kid there about 20 years old. I think he has a lot of experience. However he asked me if he could put my reel on my rod so I let him. I get down to the boat I'm straightening up my rig I get it all done and I go to cast and I realize he put my real on backwards. So I had to redo the whole thing again. When I was with him in the store I showed him another reel I brought into the store and without noticing that the tightening knob was missing he tightened up the drag and showed me that the drag was not working. So I took it to one of my friends who said it works fine. I did end up buying another reel because of the kid. I hope the owner will educate this kid a little more on some things so he doesn't embarrass himself in the future read more

Love this place, they have those hard to find lures and swimbaits. The staff knows the sport of fishing and is always willing to tell a tale or two. I have never had a bad experience there. Not to mention it's right down the street from my job. They even took the time to help with questions I had about my rare Fenwick FF83. Don't you just LOVE it when you find a great lil' store ! I was waiting to meet up with a friend to eat at Sweet Divas cottage bistro next door when I saw this shop and quickly ran in to get supplies for my next pier fishing trip. yah yah I know what kind of fishing is that, well it's free food for my dogs and cat. Anywho, as soon as I walked in and appeared a bit 'lost' one of the workers came over to help me. I am one of those people who just hate pesky sales people, but this person was great and knowledgeable. I got the Hot Sauce lube for the reel/line, and some sabikis. I've seen this location for a long time but finally stopped in today prior to my fishing excursion on Friday. They were super helpful with my old reels. They tested it out and determined it's not in the best working order. They found a reel within my price range. From start to finish everyone was very friendly and helpful. All of the staff members are very knowledgeable and polite! I told they owner I was going big BFT fishing and he pulled me to the side for 20 minutes! Talked to me about the best way to fight and land my catch and he was a large reason I was able to land 2-180# BFT. His recommendations were spot on and most of the gear I have is from them. They offer custom rod building and maintenance of the gear you already have with a quick turn around time. They have a great selection and if they don't have it they can usually find it! It has taken me a little time to write this review but I just had to get it done and tell everyone about this place. They are awesome bait and tackle shop. All the guys there have experience in some kind of fishing. Staff ages vary from young to middle age which allows people of all ages to come here and chat it up with the guys. Mark assisted me and has been on point. Hooked my son and I up with some surf fishing gear, suggested Dog beach for perch, and the next day we caught perch. Not a cheap place but if you are buying cheap gear and fishing, could have a problem. But they work with what you are looking to spin. Fishermans Access is the best tackle shop in the LA and OC area! I drive past several other tackle retailers just to shop at this place. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on all the gear they carry and fishing overall. They also are very nice when I bring my 6 year old with me and he touches everything in the store. I have had many personal product recommendations from every employee at the store and have caught fish on all the baits I have purchased from them. I never feel like they are there to just sell me products. Rather educate me on what the differences are between the different baits and tell me what techniques they are getting bit on or how to use the bait. They carry a wide assortment of line, hooks, weights, jigs, rods, reels, big swimbaits, soft plastics, reaction baits, dough baits, live baits, frozen baits and apparel. In addition to the products offered they offer a rod/reel servicing. They even have a vape store in the same building if you are into that. Fishermans Access has a great selection of many JDM products that you just don't see at other retailers. They also offer a consignment on used gear. So you can sell your old gear and get store credit or pick up high end products at a great price. If you can't make it down to the store front you can call them and get your stuff shipped directly to you. I cannot say enough good things about this business. Fishermans Access have definitely helped me take my angling to the next level. If you are in need of any tackle or suggestions they are definitely they place to go check out. It's okay. It's your local, curmudgeon-y tackle shop. If they don't know you, or you're they don't really seem too interested. There selection is GOOD, and their prices are MSRP, so don't expect any "deals." Parking is a little weird.
