We had an awesome time with this fishing company. For the last 3 years, we've probably booked them about 6-8 times now. The best part is all the gear and equipment and bait is included for all paying guests. There's several trip options to choose from. Early morning, during the days and their late night trip. We have done all, and I prefer the late nights. The water is calmer, it's not as hot, and it's pretty relaxing if you ask me. The business operates daily, weather permitting. The boats are pretty big, they seem to be able to hold about 30 persons on the fishing level. There's an upper deck for a smaller fee, for people who do not want to fish, but go along for the ride. You're welcome to keep whatever you catch, depending the size of course. Once we cough a nurse shark, we were not able to keep it, but it sure had eveyone taking onboard! You're also allowed to bring your meals and drinks on board. It's definitely a party if you make friends with your neighbors and enjoy the tour. Fun experience and great crew! We brought a novice from northern Cali. It's BYOB and they provide a large iced cooler for storage. The boat trip begins in the scenic intracoastal passing by stunning mansions until hitting the ocean by Port Everglades. As a novice myself, the crew is informative and helpful in teaching how to use the rod, fixing issues such as lines being tangled or snapped hooks, and identifying the fish. Cool learning experience too. They showed us a sucker fish as it strapped to the boat walls before setting her free. We went on a Friday at 7:30pm. The boat wasn't too packed and we claimed the front. Between 3 of us, we took home 4 fish. We caught a bunch more that were tossed back in the water -- baby sharks, and many fish that weren't of proper size. Great adventure even if you don't catch any fish. A very peaceful view of the skyline looking east and we caught moonrise to the west. Nice ocean breeze! After returning, they scaled and gutted the fishies for some fun cooking ahead. read more

Easily one of the saddest fishing experiences I've ever had. From start to finish it felt like we weren't there to fish -- we were there to cover the boat's fuel costs. We where kept up front, bottom fishing into the current for six straight hours with no results. Meanwhile, a private group in the stern fished directly in the chum slick and caught nonstop -- fish after fish, including sharks -- while we just watched. What made it worse was hearing that these same people come out four times a week and regularly haul in dozens of pounds each trip. It became pretty clear this wasn't a fair charter at all, but more like a commercial fishing boat disguised as a tourist trip, where the paying guests are used as filler while the insiders clean up. The crew never rotated positions, never let us fish the slick, and never offered us the same tactics the back group was using. We were given no real shot at catching anything. It was an incredibly disappointing and one-sided setup, and it left a very bad impression. If you're hoping for an honest, family-friendly charter where everyone gets a fair chance at fish, avoid this operation completely. There are plenty of better, more transparent boats out there that won't waste your day and money. read more

I want to preface I don't care the fish weren't biting on our trip, I fish a lot and I know fishing isn't catching. But I am pissed that we spent so much money and my wife didn't get to do anything. We spent $200 for her to sit on the boat. The first hour we were trolling and caught nothing, captain chris then had us do some bottom fishing with a single rod for 6 people. He had us drop a line a few times in a spot then travel about 20 minutes and try a few more drops, then move another 20 minutes away, try a few more, move another 20 minutes and so on. There was about 30 minutes of fishing, one person at a time in the entire 4 hour trip and like I said my wife didn't get to fish at all because they said we were out of time, couldn't even be bothered to let her drop a line one time. You might think that's because others had multiple turns, but no everyone had one turn except for her. The boat was also disgusting, no running water, dry rot, filthy everywhere. There was a sign talking about cdc guidelines requiring you to wash your hands after using the restroom but no water or soap. One person in our party also said he heard the captain say they ran out of weights, we lost 2. And they were using old rotten fish, no live bait and didn't have us try to catch live bait. After that just no fish just little baby fish to throw back. The problem is the captain should move the boat to try to get us some fish. Gone trolling just something, anything. The worst, tackiest thing is when we got back the captain announces treat us like you would a bartender, give each of us $20 a piece. Took an afternoon 4hr deep sea fishing trip with these guys. Was $200pp for myself and my son. Had a great time, captain did a great job keeping us in good spots, and the first mate, Dave, super nice guy and did a great job changing up rigs. We ended up catching 3 nice barracuda (including a 48-49" my son brought in) as well as 2 nice size yellowfin tuna, and a small mackerel. Nice boat, nice day out on the water. I am a third generation customer of Fishing Headquarters. My grandfather and uncles have been going out with Paul since the 90's. I had the pleasure of going out with Captain Will and his mate Logan. These guys were amazing. We went out with hopes of snagging a sailfish. We bought the proper bait and hit the water. We kite fished over various wrecks and reefs and caught a nice sized barracuda. We chased a few showerings of balleyhoo looking to snag their predators. Although we were unlucky, Will and Logan didn't want to let us down. We trolled around and ended up catching some beautiful blackfin tunas, skipjack tunas, and a nice sized king fish. (Pictured below) Will and Logan made everything a breeze. They were so laid back and extremely knowledgeable about not only the marine life, but the surrounding areas. They assured us that we could be as involved or uninvolved as we wanted to be. I controlled the hight of our kite bait as the winds varied and hooked the lines on the out rigger. It was awesome. Pure class all the way through the trip. Can't wait for our next excursion. Upon calling and researching several spots, Fishing Headquarters had good reviews and availability so we gave it a shot. I'm so glad we did, it was one of the highlights of my trip. While there are no food or drinks available on board, you're free to bring whatever you want, even alcohol, and utilize their big, ice filled cooler. There's a 7-11 right next to the boat if you want to stock up on snacks or drinks for the four hour trip. They do emphasize - "it's a fishing trip, not a drinking trip." However, I found having a couple of beers to be a great addition to the afternoon. With that being said, if you're even a LITTLE concerned about getting seasick, take some drowsy free Dramamine about an hour before the boat leaves. I would encourage EVERYONE to take seasick mess to ward off potential sickness, because I've been sick on a boat before, and it's AWFUL. The crew was laid back, chatty, and fun. They were always nearby to help reel, untangle, unhook, and stock your catch. Yep- you can keep what you catch, and they'll even clean it for you if you want to take it home to cook. The captain did a great job of moving the boat to different locations in an effort to maximize our catch, but at the end of the day, you can't control nature. On the day we went, we caught 7 fish between the three of us. I was never bored. It helps if you're on a boat with some nice people too. The weather was perfect, and the four hours flew by.
