We picked Manny because my family and I saw an article on him about getting the record sized redfish. Unfortunately, unless you enjoy listen to someone talk about themselves non stop or brag about how far he can cast, there will be a great disappointment. We did not get a single bite. He complained about helping my mom cast and when she got a line stuck a few times. He had me stringing everyone's lines and didn't try anything besides spoons. He charged us full price for no product. I think he may just be burnt out on his job. My parents drove 6 hours to fish and we were very excited for this trip, but we ended up hearing how great Manny is with nothing to show for it. I've fished enough to know he could have tried many other tactics to fish but instead he chose to be lazy and just kept fishing with spoons. No trolling, no fishing for catfish. Been fishing for over 40 years now and I've used several guides over the years for everything from Black bass to trophy redfish in Venice. Soo I've been around the fishing block to say it politely. Last summer I decided to book a trip with Fishing with Manny guide service.... fished all morning for reds and hybrids...let us just start with the boat. One of the nastiest boats you will ever fish out of, probably hasn't been washed out since it was new. And it had more crap laying around, old baits etc. Now to the fish, caught a few reds but never had a chance for a good fight due to the boat constantly moving. Rods where a joke, way to big for what we where attempting to catch..more like a tarpon rod at the coast. Basically rode around for 4 hours to catch a few fish that we just dragged behind the boat..what a waste of time an money.
