Great Breakfast! I got the Quick and Easy Breakfast. It comes with eggs made to order and your choice of Sausage (Patty/Link) or Bacon. The toast was great and came buttered. We were told about Fishville Trading Post from the host at the KOA Port Lavaca and we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. We both ordered the all you can eat Catfish special even though some other items on the menu were intriging. The Catfish, we both agreed was some of the best we have had. This is a solid choice for some seafood if you're in the area! Came here on a Tuesday night and it was just us in the restaurant. I had the redfish special and the wife had a shrimp plate. My redfish was excellently seasoned and the fries and hush puppies were homemade. My wife's fried shrimp was hand breaded and sooooo good. We had the soup of the day that didn't really have a name. The waitress called it a creamy ham and potato style soup. It was absolutely delicious!!! Seriously. I could eat 3 bowls of it. The temperature inside the restaurant was less than comfortable but it is definitely a place I'd return to next time in the area. read more

we found this place quite by chance when we were looking for property to buy. The food is hit or miss, depending on which cook is on for that night. Sometimes the fish was delicious other time is it was very watery and not cooked well. Some of the wait staff is very friendly and some appear to not like their jobs. read more

Where is the awesome grill cheese sandwich that had 4 slices of cheese & toasted Texas toast with crispy french fries. Today order was a soggy mess grill cheese sandwich with one slice of cheese and uncooked fries. I know the place was busy. Customers don't mind waiting a long time for good food. read more

We go to Fishville frequently. Went yesterday and the food was awful. I get the ugly burger, this time the meat was over cooked. So much mayo it was gross, flat lettuce and lifeless. Yuk also I got onion rigs and they were not crispy but very greasy. Also we ordered brisket sandwich and it was mushy and gross, really bad, did not even eat it. Really disappointed. Ugly burger use to be my favorite, not any more. read more

We have eaten here several times since we purchased a place in Boca Chica and we love the food. I have not had anything bad. The fried catfish is very good as are the burgers. Ok- the ugly burger is accurately named. Nothing to brag about on looks but wholly mother of god is it good. Great sear on the meat, ooze factor 89% (that would be that good melty cheese), condiment usage good not overwhelming, bread standard but it will fall apart before said burger is gone. All in all the sum of the parts is definitely over and above. The fries well they are standard ok but nothing to brag about my suggestion would be ugly burger + extra onions on the side (they are a little skimpy on those) plus tots are their jalapeño potato balls. No ketchup necessary. Boom. Dinner is served. Oh, get a beer- you are on the coast dude! read more

I've come here about five times ... not many other places around to eat. Service is always mediocre. Today topped off my issues with the place. Ordered food to go , went to pick it up (we live 2 minutes away) , then drove home to realize they forgot to give me TWO out of the three meals. This left out meals cold. Drove quite a distance to get here, heard about the seafood, wanted to try something different. Well it was different all right. There were fly's that camped out at our table, the service was mediocre at best and the prices for what you got was WAY out of line. My wife and I had the "Hand Battered Shrimp", w/baked potato. and a 24 oz.tea and water. No charge for the baked potato's but $2.00 for the "Loaded" feature. That consisted of three tiny plastic "condiment" containers of butter, sour cream and shredded cheese. Because the air conditioning was not working properly or was out of order, I requested a refill for my ice tea. When I finally got the waitress attention, she took my Styrofoam cup and filled it with hot tea, NO ICE! The baked potato was hard, the salad (what there was of it) wasn't fresh, the condiments where stale as where even the saltine crackers. My wife didn't finish eating her shrimp, (You only get nine according to the menu for $14.99), she only ate six, it wasn't that good anyway. So we put what wasn't eaten in the condiment containers because they had lids and the little shrimp fit just fine. At the register I noticed we were being charged for one 24 oz. Medium drink ($1.69) and one 32 oz. Large ($1.99). I inquired, because we both had the exact same size cups. The reply was, "Oh , I'll fix that for you", and revised the ticket to read, 2.0 -24 oz. Drink Medium ---$3.38. Which prompted me to ask how much tea cost? I was informed that we were charged for WATER and the cup it comes in also. So after paying $39.88, I have some advice for anyone coming here for "..something different.." Take the Styrofoam cup home with you when you leave, it's the only thing here of any REAL value here. read more

Owner/Managers are always friendly and even remembered my name when I came back. If your looking for a great place to sneak away with great food and rustic atmosphere give them a try. There was five of us want to eat dinner this evening. The salad bar was bare, there was four people working service slow. Food was very good, had to go find the cups for drinks. This is the second visit to this establishment; we had a wonderful experience the first time, tonight we made the decision to never return. Our drink order was taken but the waitress "forgot" us and finally another waitress came over to ask if we were being helped. The first waitress finally delivered our drinks but with the bottle cap still on my bottle of beer. Our food order was taken and my husband's fish dinner was served while I waited on my burger wrap to be served, eventually. We were never presented a bill for our meal so my husband went to the register to tell the cashier what we ate. After paying, he realized he was charged extra for the baked potato toppings; this on a meal where soup was part of his dinner but the cook never made soup and my husband declined the hush puppies. So we paid extra for potato toppings when in reality we shouldn't have even paid full price as two items on his dinner were never served. Our dinners were served before receiving flatware and then we had to ask for napkins. I guess we're used to more civilized establishments. One star for good food but extremely poor service. read more
