    Vada Pav

We Ubered two Masala Chai and a Vadapav. Even though it's at a higher end of price, the quality was great - both, Vada Pav and Chai. Chai actually tasted good with Masala and Chai leaves instead of just milk, at other places we've tried. Vada PAV was quite spicy and didn't feel oily at all. Would surely try more things from here next time. Definitely recommended.

Had an awesome Gujarati breakfast at Fiskie's with my family! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Great food, warm hospitality, and a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious Gujarati breakfast. We'll definitely be back!

    "Water Balls" - Pani-Puri

Excellent food and service. We were unsure what to order but server was patient and kind and offered suggestions. Everything we had was delicious. He demonstrated how we should prepare the "water balls" (Pani-Puri) as we had never had them before. Even brought us a complimentary mango dessert that was the perfect after dinner treat.

My MIL is…read morea fantastic cook, and she made a bunch of amazing sides including Dahls, chipates, and bindi. These were meant to be ONLY side dishes. We had also bought jumbo shrimp from Costco, with heads to be the main course. (Her favorite!) This was an issue. Apparently these were disgusting and needed to be cleaned. There were so many shrimp. I'd slept exactly 1 hours the night b4 because my in-laws were jetlagged and wandering around the house and backyard at 3am. I'd also worked a full day. So I suggested take out for the main. It was unpopular, however there was no way I was letting MIL clean shrimp by herself for hours and no way I was spending the next two hours of my life helping her do it after working a full day and sleeping 1 hour. To give my husband credit, he researched this place extensively. We ordered the saag chicken, which was exceptional. It stood up to the other dishes on the table. (I have not ordered from an Indian restaurant in the Boston area that comes close to how good this spot was. My in-laws would have complained about every other spot. They liked this one.) Instead they thought it was great, and they are so difficult to please. Pray for me, tomorrow I gut perfectly lovely jumbo shrimp for their black vein and remove the head. (My husband is the one who bought these and paid extra for the head. He is doing extensive yard work involving a lot of heavy lifting, otherwise he'd be in charge of this job. I will also not be helping him, as was planned so he will suffer) Suffice it to say, 10/10 would recommend. Planning on adding it to my regular rotation. It will be approved by your Indian in-laws. (Also don't buy fancy shrimp for them!)

Our waiter was super nice, the heater wasn't working so he put us at a table right next to their space heater, which was thoughtful. We went during the week and were seated right away. They have a vegetarian dinner for 2 special which was perfect for sharing for our family of 4. It came with papads, 2 curries, rice, naan, and gulab jamun. Our food came out quick and flavorful. I've definitely had more authentic Indian food, but this was good quality with a diverse variety of North Indian options. The naans were soft and fluffy, the curries (malai kofta and saag channa) were the right amount of spicy, and the portions were worth the price. I'd recommend coming here if you're craving Indian food and are in the area.

Pashwari naan was sweet, a bit thick and dry, but overall would repurchase. Mango lassis were too sweet Very cozy, calm, clean interior. Good for small groups 2-4. Street parking, no lot. We couldn't get like 3 things we initially ordered so it's sort of my fault for defaulting to the most basic order possible.

I didn't have a reservation on a Friday night, but I called ahead and they said it wasn't too busy. There were only a few tables filled when I went, and the restaurant isn't very large in general. The interior is modern and classy, while the food is also not too expensive. I ordered the vegetable samosas and malai kofta. I was also given complimentary papadam with tamarind, mint chutney, and tomato dip. The tamarind absolutely blew me away - I wanted to try it with everything! The vegetable samosas were really fresh, large, and full/packed. There's only 2 in the order, but they're pretty filling. I also really liked the malai kofta, especially the sauce. I was quite happy with the recommendation.

Not too huge of a place but we were looking for a quick dinner time with great food, We ordered Sev puri, paneer tikka pizza and Kesar falooda. Everything was really amazing. I was expecting a bowl of kulfi with falooda so it was more like a badam or Kesar milk with chia seeds and ice cream - different but still delicious. You need to order at the main place and pickup the food with the buzzer - self service casual setting and I didn't mind at all. Great experience.

My guess as to why this place doesn't get the same recognition as other restaurants is because it is Indian food. The food at Tiranga is all authentic Indian street food. Which means that if you're comparing it to a standard Indian place you're going to be disappointed. But if you go expecting to get an authentic sandwich, the type you get on the streets of Bombay, along with Maggi ketchup, this is your place. Their live Pani Puri is also an authentic experience. The service was great and the ambiance is also good. It's a small place so it may not be good for large groups. But they are open late and will satisfy the craving for a late night spicy snack. This place is seriously underrated and a gem. Maybe one day we'll come around to giving Indian cuisine more respect, and when that day comes, I have no doubt that Tiranga will get some awards.

This review falls somewhere between 3 1/2 to 4 stars…read more Ever since I heard about Don't Tell Aunty opening up last year I've been itching to get in and try it, especially as someone who loves Indian cuisine and someone who is often intrigued by fusion concepts and modern twists on classic dishes. We finally decided to go for a mid afternoon meal on a Saturday in the beginning of June. We looked at the menu online ahead of time to refresh our memories on their offerings, and the food was listed all together in a section called "all day menu". We had some dishes in mind that we wanted to try, namely the tikka tots, the mirchi bhajji and the rasam ramen. Unfortunately none of these items were on the menu when we went in. I realized that they have separate menus for lunch and dinner with the lunch menu being more limited, which I know lots of restaurants do. Nevertheless we were still excited to try the food there. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. Beautiful design, very comfortable and the music was a vibe. Contrary to some of the other reviews here saying that the service was aloof and lackluster, we found that it was prompt and down to earth. We opted for some Indian beers over cocktails. For food we decided on some curry dishes. Boyfriend ended up with paneer butter masala, I had Goan fish curry and we split some garlic naan. The guy did warn ahead of time that the fish curry was a naturally spicy dish, to which I stated that I was totally cool with that since I love the spicier dishes. Boyfriend asked for his butter masala to be extra hot. The presentation of the entrees is absolutely stunning. The rice was fluffy and the curry hit all the flavor notes as it was a little sweet, a little spicy and a little tangy. In hindsight I think I should've asked them to make it a tad spicier for me, but the flavor was definitely there and it was a pretty solid, filling dish. Boyfriend really enjoyed his butter masala, saying that they delivered on his request for extra heat. The bread wasn't bad, though the portion is rather small and it kind of reminded me of the packaged naan bread you can get at the grocery store. Overall it was a good experience at Don't Tell Aunty. I did see on the website that they were making changes to the menu, so I look forward to seeing what else they can do.
