Nice spot for South Indian food. We all got Dosas with Spicy Potatoes, Onions, and Chicken. The dosa itself was very tasty and went great with the Coconut Chutney. However, the spicy potato and chicken fillings were pretty salty unfortunately. The Ginger Chutney also had a medicinal taste to it

I was so happy when this location opened in Harvard Square. I constantly visited the Seaport location when I was in the area. You don't find many locations that serve good dosas anymore. Madras Dosas is conveniently open until 3am. The seaport location was filled with people even late at night. I didn't expect people of all ages to crave dosas at all hours of the day but here we are. I love the Chipotle style menu of adding any toppings you want onto a dosa. You no longer have to stick to a ridged menu without any variety. They finally opened their second location in Harvard Square. It is located deeper in the area near IHOP. It was a little hard to find at first. The location seemed to be somewhat smaller with less tables. I ordered their plain dosa with aloo tiki and samosa chaat on the side. The food was wonderful. I wish the portions were bigger. They put a decent amount in the middle but that was it. Most of the dosa was empty and left me hungry afterwards. I did pick up a Mango Lassi which filled me up a bit more. Overall great place if you are craving dosa but I wish the portions were larger to match the prices.

Yummy and filling! I especially loved the coconut chutney. The corn and cheese filling was great. Good for a quick meal solo or with friends with ample seating options near campus. They also have lassie drinks and the service was quick around 5-10 min.

Really enjoyed my dinner here at Madras Dosa in Cambridge. This is a casual style restaurant where you order at the counter and your food is ready in just a couple of minutes. I ordered a Dosa which seems to be the specialty item here. You get to choose your own toppings inside. They actually had a suggestion for what to put so I went with that--spicy potatoes, cheese, and onions. I also got beef. The portion is huge and I left feeling very full. The dosa itself and all the sauces it came with were very flavorful. It's right in the heart of Harvard Square so parking is either street (if you're lucky) or a nearby garage. All in all I really enjoyed my experience here and I will be back!

Ordered a chicken dosa and costed $14. Definitely delicious and there was a lot of chicken stuffed in there. Lot of quality food and the people making the food were really nice. The tables were always full though and quite dirty. We had to wait 10-15 mins to find a seat.

Yummy dosas at this small cambridge location. I love that you can add whatever you want like onions, potatoes, gunpowder and even chicken. The dosa had a nice crunch, the potatoes were yummy. The dosa was huge and came with sambar and two other sauces. Prices are fairly reasonable. Service is good. Bathroom was nice and clean. There are very few tables so you may need to get it to go. No tap water there. You do have to buy a bottled water. Overall a tasty treat in harvard square.

Quick, delicious, reliable late night eats. If you want to eat real food instead of fast food, definitely come here. I had the Chana over rice and it was good. My only complaint is for the price ($13) it was mostly rice. I wish there was more Chana. It was also pretty spicy and I love spicy food, but this was taking over all the other spices. Glad I tried them.

The dosa is way bigger than I expected! Definitely shareable. I got it with lamb, spicy potatoes, and pineapple. The pineapple is a sweet and tangy chunky sauce that balances the savory spice of the other elements well. Each element, including the three dipping sauces, has so much complex flavor. It doesn't feel cheap at $17 for a wrap with three fillings, but the quantity and quality of the fillings are worth it. It feels authentic to a degree that's hard to find elsewhere. As a heads up, the lamb was quite spicy, much spicier than the spicy potatoes. Be careful and ask for help ordering if you can't handle spice!

The spicy potato dosa and lamb canteen sandwich were both excellent. I was impressed by the quality of the lamb in the sandwich, the fact that it came with chips, and that it was very hearty and filling for only $13. There were a few too many flies in the restaurant, but I'm not sure if that is normal or not. Service was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal! Will definitely return if we are in the Cambridge area.

Came here at the recommendation of friends. Overall, food tasted good but definitely wish there was more substance for the price. It's not expensive, but on the slight pricier side for what you get. We got dosas with spicy podi and potatoes. The gunpowder is definitely enough to take down the most experienced in spice, but I loved the potato dosa. We also got the chickpea chaat, idly (a little sour) and pani puri (yum). Highly recommend the mango lassi as well.

I was at Harvard admit day and was craving a dosa. Another parent suggested I visit Madras Dosa. It's a short five minute walk and the menu is extensive but customizable. Madras dosa is south indian cuisine and the ser ice was on point. The ambiance is fast casual place your order at counter and pickup when your name is called. What's great is that they use eco friendly plates and utensils. They have a few branches and I invite them to open a branch in Irvine, CA home to the next cricket stadium.

The hottest new place in town. If you get the karam podi spice, be prepared for HEAT! They have a milder version called gunpowder. As someone who LOVES fiery foods, even I regretted opting for the spiciest option. The dosas were HUGE and were so filling. I liked how you can easily customize your order. I ordered one dosa with the paneer, karam podi, onions, and potatoes and had plenty of leftovers. The dipping sauces that come with the dosa were delicious as well. The mango lassi was the perfect sweet accompaniment to quell my burning tastes buds. I'd definitely check it out again! When you add ingredients to the dosa, it can get pricey real quick.

I was a bit confused when I first walked in because I didn't know what the dosa came with already and what a dosa is typically filled with. So I just went with their recommendations of onions, potatoes, cheese, and chicken. It was very delicious. Not cheap though but I will say that the dosa is large which offsets the expensive cost. The three sauces are all delicious but I have no idea what each of the three sauces are. All have some sort of spice and one of the red sauces was very thick and sweet which I enjoyed. The dosa itself has a soft outer layer and a flavorful interior. Will definitely be back again because it tasted great!

I ordered pani puri, and it had no chickpeas or potatoes inside. It was just some onions and yogurt and chaat masala. Very disappointing.

Would come back just for this cruller, and am willing to try their other items now that I know what they're capable of. ------ FOOD: 1. [MUST TRY] MAPLE CRULLER (5/5) As good as everyone says it is. The exterior is so satisfyingly crispy, but the interior has the exact right soft, eggy consistency that defines the cruller. The maple glaze is definitely very sweet, but somehow it actually works well with the fried dough such that it's not overpowering. Maple is their most popular flavor, but they also have other flavors and monthly specials to try. 2. DRIP COFFEE Perfectly fine drip coffee. The mugs they give you are smaller than their to-go cups, so probably opt for your coffee to-go, especially if you plan to go on a little stroll after accidentally eating 6 crullers for breakfast... ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * A large, spacious cafe that had a NY, tiled environment mixed with a more laidback Tatte vibe * More seating inside than I thought there would be (though a mix of individual tables, a communal high top, counter seats by the window, and tables outside) * One design issue though is that the ordering counter is right at the front door, meaning there's actually very little space for the line and so on bad weather days, you might be caught waiting outdoors under the elements vs. indoors. I'm sure there are some days where the line naturally forms inside, but the way the space is designed does not make that easy
