When I came here they are full. Waited for the seat for 5-10mins and promptly seated. Servers are nice and friendly. They have 9 different dishes for the lunch buffet (11AM-3PM Friday+weekend). I ordered their non-vegetarian platter, and lamb vindaloo. They gave me fried chips with sauces. These sauces are bomb!! Their non vegetarian platter consist of lamb kabob, chicken tikka, chicken pakora, and shrimp samosa. Their samosa is perfectly fried, and proteins are perfectly marinated with spice. This is definitely an authentic Indian cuisine in Quincy, MA. Will return in the future. read more

I have always liked this spot for years since their QC location. Now moving to the plaza in Wollaston next to Wendy's! More space, more seating, same great taste. Tikka Marsala chicken - good savory dish with plenty of sauce to go with your rice and garlicky naan bread. Mango lassi I've gotten sometimes just to go! Always have to have a cup or two! Very refreshing and creamy! Love it. Another dish we like is the butter chicken! The staff are also present and quick with your food. Always pleasant experience! Sher A Punjab has moved to a new location! They used to be right by the Quincy Center T Station & is now in the Wollaston area of Quincy. Highly recommend for consistent Indian food. I've dined in a couple of times but typically order takeout via UberEats. They're quick & efficient, food is also delicious. This is a really good Indian restaurant. The food was great. That service was excellent. The prices were good. Plenty of parking. If we ask for spicy it was spicy. Food: the taste of the food is genuinely phenomenal. 1.) The goat curry was fresh, and I typically have an issue with the Gameyness of goat but they did a great job at removing it and that typically goes hand in hand with how fresh it is. 2.) The Chicken Tikka Masala, also delicious and youre able to taste the subtle tomato undertones well. Its typically a pretty rich curry but they have a great balance here with the tartness from the tomatoes 3.) Paneer Kadhai, first time trying it and there will definitely be a second and beyond! First time having a cheese curry and my oh my was it delicious. Its a slightly sweet curry, and balances well with its savory side. 4.) Dal Makhai, first time trying this lentil curry and it was a great curry to balance out the other rich curries we've had. Definitely tasted healthy and light, and will be for sure mixing that in to our curry spread in the future! 5.) Gobi Curry! Unlike the other curries we are used to, this cauliflower curry had a different blend of spices that was tasty in its own right! And then of course the Naan! This has hands down one of the tastier garlic Naan's I've ever had. Its fluffy on the inside and crispy on the out. Ripping into it and seeing how fluffy it was was a great experience. And who can forget the Mango Lassi. Can never go wrong with this delicious and decadent yogurt drink. Service: the service is absolutely phenomenal. The staff were always tentative and even talked to us enthusiastically about all of our questions and even threw in a Mango lassi freebie! Atmosphere: the inside of the restaurant is really quaint and modern! A tad small but its perfect for smaller parties! Price Quantity/Quality: We had the Lunch buffet for 17.95$ with free choice of garlic or regular Naan bread basket. And all the curries we've had came with the buffet. We continue our search for a good Indian restaurant south of Boston, and sadly we must continue the search. Sher-A-Punjab was meh at best. We started with the Chaat Papri, I have had this at numerous restaurants, and this was just fried dough in yogurt. There really wasn't much vegetable that we usually get with it. We also had the Shrimp Samosas, those were the highlight of the trip. They were nice, had a good flavor and the dough was nice and flakey. We tried the Pista Coconut Naan and also the Garlic Naan. These were both nice, I would suggest the Pista is almost a good desert. The Garlic Naan was freshly made and had good flavor. The entrees... were not that great. The Palak Paneer was acceptable, nothing special. The Chicken Tikka Masala's chicken was cut into sticks, and it was extremely sweet. (Overly sweet) The Lamb Coconut Curry was decent, and the Gobhi Achari tasted like the oil, or something had gone bad and smelled rancid. We typically enjoy Indian food, and even with average will take home the leftovers in a togo bag. With Sher-A-Punjab, we decided to leave it all at the table, and not take anything back with us. I came here for dinner over the weekend with some friends after missing Indian food for a veeerrryyyy long time. It was not super crowded at the time we were there so we were seated right away which was nice. It took us some time to decide what we wanted and ended up splitting multiple different dishes. We were feeling adventurous and asked for all our food's spice level to be the most spicy. The samosa chaat was more watery than I have had at other Indian restaurants but was overall okay. It was a lot spicier than we anticipated so we asked for the other dishes to be adjusted to medium spice. The baingan bharta and garlic naan were really good. The naan was very flaky versus doughy too. The chicken biryani was also okay and was more of a vegetable pulao with chicken rather than a proper biryani. Seriously, we tried to spend $50 for a restaurant.com gift card and two of us could not do it. We went all in on appetizers. The mango chutney was very good and the veggie platter for two worked out well for us. I loved the fried chickpeas (I think they were chickpeas). The cheese app was so good! Just pathetic! My experience @Sher-A-Punjab has gone from 4star to no star in the last 9months, wonder if the management changed or its something else. Firsty, they have apparently changed their prices on the menu, but prices online on their website online ordering menu have not changed and nor can they share a printed copy of the menu with the revised prices. So you end up paying more when you go to pickup your takeout order. And then the food, absolutely terrible. We had to throw part of it away since it tasted old, was very oily and upset our stomach. The vegetable samosas appeared to be refried and too oily. The Malai koftas tasted old, sour, low on spices and oily. The lamb chops were the worst. Burnt with bones charred to carbon! I recently discovered Sher-a-Punjab while perusing through DoorDash. Takeout is how I roll now. The chicken tikka masala is amazing, with a good portion size and super flavorful. I typically order mild and a side of naan. The naan is always delicious too. My husband gets vindaloo which he gets very spicy. The portions are such a good size generally we have dinner and lunch for the next day. read more

Super tasty Indian food! Only open for takeout last I checked, but the takeout process was easy and contactless. When I ordered online I did not get a confirmation email, but a quick phone call to the restaurant reassured me that my order was indeed prepared on time just as the website promised! The menu is vast and allows a lot of flexibility with substituting various meats into various dishes. The garlic naan was great and the portions of all the foods were pretty good sized. I tried lamb saag and Madrasi fish curry along with a vegetarian platter. I thought the flavors and textures were all good together and it came with a good amount of rice for each dish. Most of the items in the vegetarian platter were pretty greasy to me but I bet they would be better when eaten fresh in the restaurant instead of as takeout. I still really enjoyed being able to try lots of different things on one plate (and three different sauces) instead of having to choose only one appetizer. read more

I was feeling so stressed because my phone died and I couldn't contact anyone so he let me borrow his phone and searched for a jumper cable in his restaurant, when he couldn't find one he let me sit at the bar and gave me a glass of water until my dad came. I couldn't get enough of the garlic naan! The service was smiley and friendly, and enjoyed watching me gaze at the meal in front of me! The rice was delicious, the lamb was superb, but the butter chicken tasted just a tad bit funky... I got up and asked where the restroom was, and was told to go down a series of hallways and stairs until I found this porcelain throne. I entered into a room, with bright fluorescent lighting buzzing in a monotone purr, yellow wallpaper blinding my eyes as would the naked sun. I pass through this room, only to get to more rooms looking the same. As I tried to return back to the table, I found I was lost in the rooms, as they were almost endless! I was approached by a man in a hat, whose face was unseeable, covered in all black silk. Then I woke up! Best Chicken Korma ever!! We came by for dinner before heading to the cape! We ordered the shrimp samosas, garlic naan, peshwari naan, lamb tikka masala, and the chicken korma. All were delicious but the korma was to die for. Portions were good but not big enough for 2 meals, maybe 1.5. Prices were a bit high for dinner but as expected. Before the COVID debacle I ate at this buffet regularly, only to be sidelined by pandemic regulations that stopped buffets from serving food. Sher-A-Punjab was one of the restaurants that believed buffets would never return, and honestly they could have returned much sooner. But I understand their hesitancy in light of increasing food costs and staffing challenges. When I learned recently that this buffet had returned, my expectations were not so high and I took my time returning because other good buffets are out there. Today at long last I ate there with my wife, and we were both quite happy with the food. The quality seems better than it was pre-pandemic, which is truly unexpected, and the buffet setup is even a bit more modern. Aloo Gobhi and Paneer Kadhai are fresh, delicious and lightly seasoned. Chicken Tikka Masala is satisfying and the Chole Bhature is a tasty chickpea dish reminiscent of Chana Marsala. The Mulligatwany is quite decent. The buffet also includes some salad and fruits. Gulab Jamun and Kheer were available for desert. The only disappointments were no Dal of any kind, which would have been a welcome inclusion, and no masala tea (what a shame). Also, I ordered my naan bread plain with no butter, and a half order. Perhaps it was not understood because it was a full order and covered with butter. We are so excited that Sher-a-Punjab has re-opened its dining room! Throughout the pandemic, this wonderful eatery provided delicious takeout/delivery on those nights when I couldn't bear to cook. Now that the upscale dining room has reopened, we can enjoy the full dining experience: Indian pop music, crispy Indian cracker bread and relishes brought to the table, fresh-out-of-the-oven Naan, delicious food served artfully, and an array of beverages. The samosas are a must get, paired with all three sauces they give you is divine.
