Been to this gym since 2019. I went here for my trainer not the gym, but now he's gone and so am I. The way the owner treated the trainers gosh I have no words!!!! (Hence trainers are leaving and so are their clients. The fees for new enrollment and monthly payment is ridiculous for this caliber of a gym. I have been going to this gym for almost three years. It's a small local place. The manager was always friendly and professional, and the trainers made the place fun. A couple of months ago, the "owner" decided to take over managing it himself. He is rarely there, has never introduced himself, has allowed the equipment to decay, chased off all of the trainers, even having one of them fired in the middle of the gym with clients within ear shot. The minute I can locate another gym, I will be out the door too. Stay away. read more

I've been here for 2 years, at first it was awesome! Not super busy, lots of equipment, they had everything I wanted, super reasonable prices and 24 access all the other patrons are super friendly and make you feel apart of the community. Over the past few months, I've definitely seen a decline. No one's ever here. No training session, no managers, occasionally a couple comes in to refill the paper towels in the bathroom but that's it. It's weird, equipment has broken and taken a few weeks to get fixed, I chalk that up to them not knowing, if someone was here, they could be notified easier but I get not having 24/7 manning. It's a little annoying if I forget my badge I have to go all the way home to get my lift in, other gyms have people working inside that I could be like 'hey I forgot my badge' and I could save the trip but since it's always unmanned it's my problem. I used to love this neighborhood gym. Jason, the manager, knew my name and made me feel so welcome every time. Management has changed and not for better. The customer service I used to love is no longer there, and it made up for outdated equipment and over priced membership fee. it's sad to see what was a well run and customer friendly gym sink to a place that has let customers know they aren't valued. read more

I was pleasantly surprised how well equipped this gym is for being a smaller gym. It's clean, people are friendly, you don't have to wait on machines so you can get a really great workout, plenty of cardio and weight training equipment, it's easy to come and go with a swipe of a key card, and it's 24 hours! When my husband and I moved from Summerlin we were in search of a new gym. The moment we walked into Fitness 14 we instantly felt like family! Everyone is so kind here. Jason, the GM has become such a fun part of my morning routine. As a former competitive bodybuilder I have been in every gym and this one doesn't disappoint. Yes, it's a small space but I love the "grunge" feeling of this gym. I never have to wait for a machine or fight for a space on the floor. Unfortunately I have now left this gym. It seems the recent reviews have said everything I would have said. Over the last 3 to 4 months, this gym has gone from friendly people and fun trainers to a sad experience. Ownership and management have made it useless to train here. Any good reviews, if you take a look, are years old, when the gym was run by someone else. The new ownership/management have succeeded in firing trainers or making it so unwelcoming that the trainers walk away. My only questions are: why so uncommunicative about the changes taking place; why is everything changing for the worse; and, finally, what are the owners looking for ... they are ruining their own business ... one that many of us have enjoyed for years! I have been a member since it opened in 2014, The current owner Jose has destroyed the gym. There were 5 trainers who have been there for years including mine they were all fired in the last 2 weeks. (Ryan who posted on 09/22/2024 is posting on behalf of Jose everything he is posting is 100% bogus. The restrooms are disgusting now, he fired the cleaning crew, several pieces of equipment are broken. The owner states the hours for him are 9-5 every day, not even close he is there maybe 2 hours if he shows up at all. He has increased the new membership fees to $130.00. Since he fired my trainer Jason who made the place when he was manager. The gym just lost over 50 members who have left to go with their trainers. We go to that gym for our trainers not for the gym. He ruined a great gym with great people and the vibe is gone. The photos you see posted are many years old. Save your money. Been going here about a year. No contract, very fair price, and 24 hour access. The facilities have everything you need, and the staff is more than willing to let you poke your head in. Some people complained about the size, but the owner listened and expanded the area...looks great and makes for efficient work outs. They have all different levels of fitness here...you can work out on your own or with one of the many friendly and result-driven personal trainers. I literally have nothing bad to say about this place, except that it is too small business...hence the reason I have to leave (moving to a different location). This model would rival planet fitness and many other big chains, and would be something I would invest in if they built a gym by my new house, or wanted to make a go at franchising. They fixed all the complaints from the past: little space, contracts, ect. Definitely worth considering. Don't believe me though, go and see for yourself...it is free to tour, and if you sign up, there is not a contract, so you can leave whenever you want. Everyone is treated fair and no one will player hate if you like to keep your body fat above 20%. Finally, the only guys who are giving reviews are people who acted unreasonably at the gym and are mad because they got dealt with fairly. I know or knew most of them. They were either: - young and dumb and still living with the parents - generally unhappy and therfore negative people, usually due to earning less than 30k a year and trying to go to a gym in a neighborhood where you should be making at least 90k a year, but still finding it necessary to take loans for cars worth more than their annual salary and making other poor life choices. - one guy is mad he was moving, canceled mid-month, but had to pay the whole month...I'm in a similar situation...going to move mid month, but do you really have to complain about half of $25? This is an American small business, no contract, and it says month to month for the terms. No one cares about a guy who complains about $10 even though he agreed to pay it. - some negative reviews may have been legitimate, but the owner and staff are dedicated to your service and always improve. It's a friendly neighborhood gym, not a big chain trying to make money. Just talk to them...Jason or someone is always around- I even attached a picture to this review of proof- I'm in the white shirt standing next to him. Fitness 14 has been such a great place to workout since I live so close! They have all of the machines I like and plenty of free weights available as well. It's very a comfortable gym environment and has that "community" feel. They owner is a really nice guy, and he's also very helpful. He is there quite often, and he doesn't mind helping by giving tips for workouts if needed. There are also personal training options. The price is affordable and you don't have huge contracts like you do at some of the other gyms around. Great place to get fit! read more

Great gym: it has everything you need: free weights, smith machine, pull machines, weight lifting machines, treadmills & other cardio machines. If you want to work out or hire a trainer, look no further. If you want thrills & frills then this is not the gym for you. Chris is super friendly & always willing to help and if you want, to train. When you walk in, head toward the back & you'll find him or another trainer sitting in the office (the one with "Fitness 14" glass window). $25 a month - cancel anytime (no contract). You pay first month & last month upfront. If you cancel, you have to give 30 days' notice. The gym includes lockers. You may bring your own lock but I never had any issues with anything being taken. There's also free wifi (although I never used it). Some reviewer noted some minor issues such as full trash bins (fixed), no paper towels or wet wipes (fixed) and broken machines (not true, Chris makes sure to fix known machine issues). On a side note for the cleaning wipes, I think the gym should use cloth wipes & cleaning spray bottles instead of wet wipes or paper towels since it costs less, reduces waste, & cleans better. Also, not a big deal but some (but not all) of the bench bars are bent (I think they already replaced at least one of the bent bars). Further, like most gyms, members fail to put equipment back as they found it. This is annoying but I ran into this same issue at LVAC & other gyms. You have 24 hour access (you use a key fob to open the door). During the day (generally between 8 am to 6 pm) Chris or another trainer will be there. Most of the time there are at least 2 trainers present. If you don't see anyone in the office & the office door is open then the trainers are there but with a client. They'll see you & help you if you stand by the door. If you want to sign up then head over during normal business hours (usually 8 am to 5 pm). Use the front door (it should be unlocked) & head over to the back (you'll see an office with a glass window). Chris or another trainer will usually be there to sign you up. If in the rare case you come between 8 am to 5 pm & the door is locked then knock & a gym member will let you in (make sure to explain you want to join & want to wait inside). Chris will usually get in early in the am to sign you up. I have been coming here for 8 months & I am happy I did instead of LVAC or some other chain gym: those gyms either over charged me or required a contract. The only two good things about this gym are the location and no contract. Every machine needs maintenance, some need repairs. The dumbbells are missing the end plate with the amount of weight so someone took a marker and wrote the weight on the side. Weights are never put away. Almost every time I'm there there are weight plates on every single barbell and weights all over the floor. Every barbell is bowing or bent because they bought bars that can't hold enough weight. Equipment is half hazardly thrown behind machines or left in random locations. The garbage is overflowing, there are no actual wet wipes to wipe down machines (they are in a bag and bone dry), and no paper towels with sanitizer spray either. Sometimes the music is on but usually a trainer has to use their phone. Honestly if it weren't for the location and working out with a trainer there I would never pay so much for a gym that is so poorly maintained. I hope the new owner takes the gym seriously and makes some major changes. read more

I like this little neighborhood gym. I could have joined bigger ones like LVAC or Planet Fitness, but I am a lazy person. If I have to drive any sort of distance to work out, I won't. Pros: Location is great and very easy to access for Providence residents. The price is fair and there are no contracts. The staff are always very friendly. The gym has pretty much everything you need unless your routine is a bit off the wall or specific. (With that being said, would love a preacher curl bench.) It's open 24 hours and easy to access. Cons: The equipment could be kept in better shape. A bit of the equipment is worn and/or damaged. Multiple Olympic bars are bent and should be replaced. Some of the heart rate readers on the cardio equipment are hit or miss. A lot of the time the free weights (plates) are unorganized and all over the place. Granted, this would be easily solved by gym patrons simply putting weights back after they're done with them. Finally, things like the disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizers, soap dispensers, etc. are not refilled. It's now gotten to the point where the a bag of disinfecting wipes are just placed on top of the dispenser and left open, instead of putting them inside the dispenser. This leads them to getting dried out... I really like this gym and want to continue going here. Hoping my honest feedback helps the gym to get even better. I think of a few of my complaints were addressed, it could take a step forward and be even better. (Update: They got a preacher curl machine! Not sure it's because of my review (probably not) but I'm happy regardless! Still would like to see a couple other things addressed but, overall, I really like this gym.) (Update #2: Bumping up to 4.5 even though it isn't an option. The gym recently replaced an olympic bar, which is great. It's great to see improvements being made. I still feel like the heart rate sensors in the elliptical don't work... Or, maybe, I just don't have a heart.) read more

Fitness 14 is fantastic. Stu, the general manager, is an awesome guy. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel right at home. After a quick tour of the facility, we rapidly signed our new contract! I did four months worth of training with Monika. She is also fantastic. I saw amazing results, and her one on one, personalized approach was just what you'd expect. She was also more affordable than LVAC, which is mostly why we chose this gym in the first place. All of the trainers and staff are exceptional. They are the type of people to not only say good morning, but congratulate you when they've noticed results. How many other people tell you, "Keep up the good work! We can see a difference!" at LVAC? Probably none. Especially a manager. The gym offers boot camp, has several trainers, yoga classes twice a week, Zumba classes twice a week, and karate for the kids. Sadly, my husband is deploying and I am relocating during that time, so we are ending our membership. It is my hope that we will be close enough upon our return to LV to come back! read more

Not enough weights for the amount of people that go. When I've gone some people will put all the 45's in the gym over at the leg press. Most of the bars are bent. Machines keep breaking. The only good thing is its month to month pricing at $20 and its 24/7 open. Small gym, needs more squat racks and new bars. read more

I like that this is a privately owned neighborhood gym offering a free trial workout and not another giant corporation. It's too small to be a gym but the equipment is OK and Jason the manager is super nice. I walked in looking for some info on personal training, and met Jason who is THE best trainer I could have ever hoped for! I was in town for a few days visiting my family, and I wanted to ensure I got in a few workouts. My dad told me about this place nearby, so I decided to give them a call to see if they accepted walk-ins. Stu was awesome and allowed me to use the facility for the week at a low cost. The gym was clean and there were plenty of machines and free weights. I also noticed they offer free classes like zumba and martial arts, which is great. Fitness 14 is the best neighborhood gym I've been to yet, and I'm a prior military member who has worked out for the last 25 years. Its easy to use and clean with helpful staff. People are respectful and there has never been any waiting on machines. But, what really makes this place great are the trainers. I trained with Chris who not only provided me with good work outs and nutrition advice, but also broke down each rep, set, and workout in an easy-to-understand manner. He also provided background information and the science to building each muscle. I have been told how to work out my whole life and sometimes erroneously, but Chris truly gives you the know-how you need. One thing that I've noticed at other gyms is how they create confusing contracts and irreversible automatic monthly payments. In one gym they charged me for extra months that I had requested to cancel and when confronted they tried to bully me and say I need to send them a letter in the mail a month or two prior. Then they went ahead and charged me again. This gym was nothing like that. My transactions consisted of a polite conversation with my trainer who took care of everything for me. Super easy! This local gym has good potential to be much better. The staff is friendly, there are no contracts and the monthly fee is reasonable. The location is fantastic. Here's the problem...I mostly do cardio and the equipment is not working properly. The touch screens don't let you choose the workout you want, the bikes are terrible! When it's busy the good machines are taken and one of the reasons I joined this gym is to avoid waiting for equipment. I've let the owner know about the equipment issues and nothing has been done. I'm glad I kept my other gym membership since I will more than likely be cancelling this one unless they fix the equipment. read more

The perfect gym for me. The sign up was quick and to the point and the trainers are really helpful. It's not in a busy area or usually ever packed besides some late nights. I typically go early mornings 6am -ish or late at night around 10pm. The late night can get kind of packed, but everyone is there for a good workout so it's actually a good atmosphere. 24 hrs, it's clean and you get everything you need for a good session as far as equipment. My employer offers Gym-Pass and I was excited when I Saw Fitness 14 was included as an option to select for a gym. That feeling was very short lived after making 4 trips to the gym and leaving 3 un-returned voicemails and attempt to figure out how to coordinate the Gym-Pass with Fitness 14 membership. After stopping by for the 5th time we were told the owner would give us a call back Sunday morning to assist us. The phone call was never returned, so we made a 6th stop by the gym. Finally my husband spoke to the owner who was in the gym who stated Oh Gym-Pass... I have been trying to leave their services for months. We advised they are still listed as an active Gym that we should have full access to. He stated he would not honor our subscription and we had to pay him for a full membership. The owner was not friendly at all and given all the attempts we made to visit his gym, voice messages, promises for calls I refuse to join a gym that operates in this manner. Also , the gym promises to be 24 hours, but you use some kind of key card to gain access during certain hours and must make an appointment Sundays. I am very disappointed to say least. I refuse to join a gym where I cant even reach anyone after on the phone or via message. The only person who seemed to be able to help was the owner who was very hard to catch. No thanks! read more

My husband and I walked in today and talked to the manager (the Irish fellow). As soon as I told him where I currently work out, he started to bad mouth that company and the owners. His attitude was unfriendly and rude. Towards the end of our "tour" he told me he would match our current membership price and started bad mouthing them again. I told him it was not proper to bad mouth another company to a potential new customer especially as a manager. He told me he didn't care and that they are horrible there. I just shook my head as he continued to tell me "well I guess we can't make a deal then" if I was the owner I would be embarrassed that my manager showed no professionalism or pride in his work ethic. Steer clear of this place. The service from the manager is AWFUL. I cancelled my membership and was told I had to pay another month - this after being told there was no contract and paying diet and last month, as is standard. I refused and will never join a Fitness 14 again. Whomever owns this gym may want to look into the Irish man managing the place - he's killing your business. read more
