Heard about the ymca from a friend saying they take their kids there to swim so i decided to go online and check them out. They offer a one week trial to try out the facilities which is really cool and they currently have a deal on 4 months of access for $199 for the whole family. This place was brought to my attention for the pool because it's just too hot to play at the park these days. With the weak trail you get one free access to the pool/waterpark but after that it's only $5 for anyone over 4. When I signed up for the week trial I noticed they offer some fitness classes. I decided to try it out! Took a mommy and me yoga class. All in all I think this place has a lot of activities and things to do. And best of all you can try it out before you commit! read more

Very disappointing, the Therapy Pool is not heated for therapy use anymore and every senior is complaining, the Lap Pool is also suppose to be slightly heated, but it's freezing cold, the TV's on all but two of bikes are broken, the men's pool bathroom handicap shower head and curtain need some serious attention, the hall bathroom faucets are not usable, you can rarely charge your EV even though the sign says Senior Center use only and the same person who is not a senior or a member and is there every day smoking pot then sleeping in his car and charging night and day. I'm posting this because it's been this way for months, so obliviously they have no intention to do anything about the deteriorating condition, so for less money I've joined a much better gym. read more

Visited the YMCA at Centennial Hills around 5pm as a non-member, and check-in was super easy. Non member price to go swimming is just $5 per person. We headed to the pool area and were pleasantly surprised. There's a large kiddie pool that felt warmer than the main pool, which was nice for the little ones. The facility also has two diving boards and two water slides, which were a big hit. Just a heads-up: to use those, you'll need to pass a swim test that's offered about once an hour. It involves jumping in and swimming across a section of the pool--simple but important for safety. There's not much in terms of lounge seating, but there is bench-style seating along the walls if you want to take a break or keep an eye on the kids. The lifeguards were friendly and helpful, especially when we asked about the swim test and other amenities. After we left (non-members have to exit at a certain time), we noticed music playing loudly and a lot of lifeguards arriving. It seemed like they were gearing up for a private or members-only event. Plenty of parking and easy to access. Overall, a solid experience for the price. Would definitely come back! read more

Since the indoor pool close to our home was closed, we were told that the YMCA in the Centennial location family swim was open. I was astonished to see how big this location was compared to their other locations. The amicable lady who worked at check in who is named, Kristin was helpful and accommodating because she seen how my eager my 5 year old was to finally be able to swim, she's been asking me to take her to the pool since wee hours early in the morning. I was amazed to learn that they have so many programs available for people of all ages. Gym and workout classes. My only complaint is the family pool/swim training pool is not as big as the other locations. However, the employees were nice and the temperature of the water was perfect, the facility was clean also but my daughter had tons of fun, YMCA does provide life vests and eye goggles for the kiddos. If you're afraid of the sun damage like me, take your family to YMCA for some indoor swimming! They'll have so much fun. They also have swim lessons but you need to sign up early for that, classes do fill up quickly. They have both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. read more

Don't come here for swimming lessons. Paid a total of 150 bucks and my child received nothing from it. More frustrated paid 150 bucks for the Y which suppose to be community nonprofit organization. The swimming instructors are high school kids which is fine but they have little to no knowledge on how to teach small kids on how to swim. Obviously their director doesn't really have a system down on how to teach her employees how to implement swimming lessons. This is a leadership issue not an instructor issue. Probably a good place to work out but wouldn't come here for anything else other than that. Very disappointed on this Y. . I'll take this as a loss and after the 4th lesson I'll take him back to the swim school. Seriously waste of money. read more

A few days ago the pool website said it opened at one but when we arrived turns out they opened at 3. Online schedule is very confusing. And when we went recently only the kiddie pool is open not the big pool. They do not let you know in advance either. Everything is good but the men locker room in the pool is the worst! It smells and damp due cement floor. It is very small for 4 people in the room. There is only one sink available... ONE SINK! 2 shower stalls. I hope they will do something about this. read more

I go between this location and the Durango location and I prefer this one more. Cardio machines and strength machines in the same room so that helps with my gym anxiety and not needing to go into multiple rooms. Today, I came in for my free fitness orientation after signing up for the summer special deal with the Y recently (4 months for $99). I had the pleasure of working with Kathryn. I felt immediately comforted by her presence making my anxiety shed away for this orientation. She was super sweet, kind, and professional. If she was taking new clients, I'd definitely want her as a personal trainer. This review is just on their summer membership; in particular their swimming offering. Every summer, my daughter and I typically get the Sizzling Summer Membership. This includes 4 months of membership with the Y at $200.00. With this membership, you can get access to the facility, inside pool and outside pool for the summer. The front desk staff is super helpful! Everyone that I have spoke to at the front has been very kind and knowledgeable on all of the program offerings at the Y. Inside the Y, the building is quite spacious with a variety of different offerings such as programs: Soccer, Basketball, Karate, Dance, Swim etc.. There are mini-games (like air-hockey ..) inside the facility. The Y also offers child-care while you are at work and even offers summer programs for kids. The Y has their very own workout facility as well. My daughter and I primarily go to the Y for swimming. Inside pool has a variety of lap pools and a therapy pool. The outside pool has two different areas. A smaller, heated pool for younger children and their larger pool that has two water slides and two diving boards. Great way to cool off in the hot summer! I really enjoy this facility. If you're looking to become a member at the Y, I'd highly recommend the Centennial Hills facility. read more

Feedback: My daughter joined Dig this Volleyball program at this location, great program so far. I bring her there twice a week, started in August 2022. Thought, even if I have a gym membership somewhere else, I might as well sign up here, there is a exercise class during the time I'm waiting for her. Signed up for the family membership. Front desk staff is rude. You walk in, you see people walking around working there, taping things on the wall, can't even say hello or welcome. I approach the front desk, someone before me, not even a fake smile, a hello, but how can I help you, straight face, looked like she hates talking to people. She's not the 1st person I've experience this with at the front desk. Today was by far the worst. Even when I walked around, no eye contact from staff who's pictures are on the wall. If I could cancel my membership now I would. Terrible customer service. Super unwelcoming environment. Hope this yelp review and my email to the corporate office raises some awareness to their establishment to work on their customer service at this YMCA location. I signed up for swimming lessons on Jan 17th to prepare for my Mexico trip. I have called them multiple times and asked about scheduling the lessons, they kept telling me to wait for the director to contact me. The last two times I called them, they seemed surprised that I have not been contacted to schedule my lessons, so they tried to connect me with the director's office, but no one answered. Yesterday, Feb 15th, I returned from my Mexico trip, and finally received a text message from an instructor to get my lessons scheduled! I have a very inconsistent work schedule, but I had almost 3 weeks off to get the lessons prior to my trip. It is extremely upsetting, and I wish I paid for a private lesson somewhere else. It would have been nice to have heard back from them a week later that they are busy for the following week or whatnot. At least I would have known what to expect. If you are thinking of signing up to learn how to swim in a time constraint, go somewhere else, since they won't get back to you in a timely manner. read more

This is specifically for open gym in the basketball courts. Everything is fine except for the schedules. Both the app and the website's schedules seem to be inaccurate. There have been countless amounts of times that I showed up to play basketball, assuming we had hours to play based on the schedule, but only end up playing for 30 minutes before everyone is kicked off the court for some sort of event. Senior walk club, youth basketball games, etc.. I get that the courts are used for different things, but as a paying member, I just wish that I could rely on the schedule provided to me so I dont have to call before I come in every time. I use basketball as a way to deal with anxiety and depression, and the amount of disappointment i feel when I show up ready to play but can't because the schedule lied to me is indescribable. I actually stopped coming for about 6 months due to that reason, but recently started to come back after asking myself "why am I still paying for this membership?" Unfortunately I still ask myself that question because of the schedule. Other than that, I feel like the staff does a good job and the times I actually get to enjoy the open gym sessions are fine. read more

I just recently joined the Y with my family after doing the 7 day trial. I really think the 7 day trial is a great way to see if this center is a good fit. I was able to try a variety of different classes and see what I liked and would stick with. All of the trainers have been so welcoming and helpful and most importantly encouraging! I am not a Zumba person naturally and probably look like a fool doing it, but Amie was very helpful and even offered to cover a few moves after my first class. Sheila is so energetic and fun and while I haven't quite caught on yet like a lot of other ladies in the class, I still love going because of her energy and fun music choices. I was also new to the Les Mills programs and have tried Body Pump and Body Combat for the first time last week and loved them. Anastasia is a great instructor, encouraging and fun! Katrina and Meredith were great instructors also. Due to some injuries and being a mom it has been awhile since I have been in a gym setting and everyone from staff to other members have made me feel very welcome and encouraging. I have been taking my daughter to Child Watch since joining and she's done a couple sessions of Y Kids. She is 7 so she is very verbal about what she likes and doesn't like and she always wants to go to the two. The Child Watch staff is always friendly and seems to have a grip on the kids in the room. All in all I am glad we joined and have really enjoyed the past two weeks there! read more

Walked into this Centennial establishment in January 2020 to cancel our monthly subscription due to our family moving in March 2020. They were still charging our account from August 2020 (during the pandemic) through March 2021 (still during the pandemic.) Total amount deducted $416.00. I belong to this facility and am happy except for one very big issue. The pickleball players are being stomped on. Gary is constantly telling us that we are not part of the YMCA family because pickleball is for free. We were told there was pickleball today (Sunday) and when the group arrived we were turned away because of a basketball tournament. However the calendar shows there was pickleball starting at 9:30 am. He has no respect for customers. No one (employees) seems to know or care whether there is pickleball or not. I think the front desk members need better training. There should be no reason that a front desk member should say, "I don't think the front desk takes care of that," "or just email this person." If you don't know ask questions to those around you to figure out the correct answer. 5 other people "working" were sitting around on their phones so it's not like they were busy. The only person who sounded knowledgeable was already with someone. Had I been told to wait for them, ok. No big deal. I have gone to the front desk for everything, but this time the person couldn't try to help me. Nor were they willing to ask how to help me. This YMCA location could care less about their other paying customers when it comes to the pool. The swim team and swimming practices are always there hogging every lane. Also, the swimming team's coach (a woman) walks around as if she is the owner of the place. So I would like to start out by saying that the staff are very friendly and nice. But the facility is awful. The weight room has one curling bar and hafe the time the disinfectant wipes are empty. When you go in the restroom/locker room it is dirty and half the time the paper towels are out in the sinks don't work. The toilets are dirty and not cleaned. On the locker room side towels are left on the ground probably because there's no been for lazy people to put them in. When you go into the cardio room there is always one treadmill that does not work. The rest are not even maintained. I've complained several times about the treadmill coming to a dead stop while I was running. The belts don't feel tight on the treadmills either because when I run sometimes they slow down. So who even knows if they're accurate when it comes to what mileage and speed you are actually running. And as far as it goes for the recreational stuff for the kids. There are seats with rips and tears in them. The air hockey table is wonky at best. The pool tables felt is all ripped up. I don't know where all this membership money goes to because it's not to the facility. The plus side is the actual outdoor pool is very nice. And once again of the staff/lifeguards are friendly. We bought my son swim lessons there and I felt like they taught him nothing. I ended up going to water wings and after a couple lessons he was swimming so don't waste your money at this Y (Very Disappointed). For my son to go to child care when I workout he has to have his own membership it is not part of my membership. read more

We frequent this location a lot since it's the closest one to our home. The facility itself is a bit smaller than what I'm accustomed to from the Ys in the northwest. Although its smaller it does ulfill my family's workout needs. But this review is mainly about the preschool program that they offer. My daughter has been home with me since day 1 so getting her into a social environment with other kids her age was very important. I see the difference with my 2 older sons (who both went to daycare and preschool) vs. my 3rd son who stayed home with me since he was born. My 3rd born is a lot more timid and shy and doesn't acclimate as fast to social settings as the other 2. So getting her enrolled in something before kindergarten was high on my to do list. Halfway thru the year, I saw huge improvements, her teachers included. Shes still shy, but not as shy as she used to be. She talks so much more, compared to when she first started. If anything, I am glad that we got to enroll her even if it was just to help get her out of her shell. Her teachers were great and she had nothing but good words to say about Ms Adela and Ms Megan everyday after school. I'm 100% satisfied how they helped her get ready for kindergarten. The preschool program offers full and half days - 2, 3 or 5 days. So you have many options that you can go with depending on your needs. If you have a toddler or one that will be starting kinder in the next year, I highly recommend you check out their preschool program. read more

Three weeks ago a front desk staff member at Durango Hills wrongly charged me for a birthday party at centennial hills that was not mine ($225) To rectify the misunderstanding, they accommodated me for another birthday at Durango, which I then paid for ($225) They still have not refunded my $225 for the original birthday party that was not mine. I have called several times, left messages, spoke with leadership, dealt with extremely rude staff members, and I still have not gotten my refund. read more

it's fun to stay at the... Y-M-C-A! :) This facility is very clean and in tip-top shape! For as long as I've been coming here, I haven't experienced anything that makes me believe otherwise that catchy line from the song. The staff is always smiling, they have organized programs with times allotted for different activities and what's best is their indoor swimming pool and park for the kids! I'm all about serving the community as a whole and the kids are often forgotten but this place has it all! If you don't mind working out in the a.m. with a few senior citizens, this place isn't too busy. 4 stars for everything this place does. I hate to be a stickler for something some might consider really small but I'm a basketball player and if they got some new basketballs, that'd be awesome! Thank you for the military discount YMCA. Great deals for military fam's. Swimming classes are extra. Signed the kiddos up for 8-week classes and I can rave all day about Rachel, their swimming instructor. She was so patient and soft spoken despite the wild children splashing and screaming. My only complaint was that the bigger pool's water temp was kept at 70 degrees and that was too chilly for for my little puppets. There is only one family restroom so you have to wait in line if you have boys (wish they had a family locker room!) Parking lot is a far walk too if you've got kiddos walking out after dark with cold wet hair from the pool. In the summer they have a kids camp and water slide park. Having said ALL THAT, I would still probably go back for swim lessons, they were the best we've had. My little one advanced to the next level just after 8 weeks, I was so proud!! read more

I take my nephew to Parent's Night Out every weekend. They always do a cool activity that he really enjoys. Last week it was COCO themed and the kids got to make sugar skulls and watch the movie. This review doesn't even deserve the 1 star that yelp requires. Zero stars. I'm so disgusted with my experience of booking my sons birthday party at this location. I booked my party well in advance specifically to reserve a certain room. Verified that with the party planner Josh SEVERAL times, including 2 days prior to the party. I arrived to set up my party only to find out that the room was double booked with a baby shower that was also setting up. The "manager" Jen was so nasty and unwilling to help. She confirmed with me that I did in fact book my birthday party before the baby shower however Josh did not specify it for that room on their end even though he told me MANY times yes it was for the room that I wanted. I had emails proving I booked for that room and confirmation on my registration that very clearly stated my event was in that room. I was all for allowing whoever booked the room first to get the room However they confirmed it WAS ME and still did not allow me the room because the other party got there and began setting up. Which at this point the only thing set up was a single tablecloth. That is absolutely absurd. They tried to put me in a room where yoga was going on so it smelled like a sweaty gym, unclean, full of spin bikes with absolutely no tables. I had all of 30 min to set my party up by the time they provided me with another room. The party host was late to the party to do the activities with the kids. She placed the materials out and then just expected a group of 4 year olds to know what to do without explanation on the craft: which was making slime and a volcano. I had booked an outside character visit as well and I told the host to please come back at 2:30 pm to finish the activities. She never did until 3:45 pm.. 15 minutes before the party was ending.. so the activities I paid for in my package were never even done. Start to finish this experience was horrible and dealing with every single person at this location was just as horrible. I can not ever in good faith recommend this place for a party. I had so many people wanting to know how it went because they were hoping to book parties with the Y for their kids as well. I was even about to sign up for a membership and will not be doing that. I've tried contacting management and have had no luck. Terrible customer service and terrible staff makes for a terrible experience. read more
