Depending on what you're looking for in gyms, this is probably the best overall option in the Vallejo and surrounding areas. 1) monthly cost is reasonable (even better for lifetime memberships). 2) they offer a sauna (City Sports & Planet Fitness do not, only In Shape does in Vallejo). 3) they offer additional amenities (like hydromassage and tanning). City doesn't at all, In Shape does, Planet does if you have a Black Level membership). 4) they actually use the annual membership fee to make improvements to the club (City just pockets it to their bottom line. city hasn't bought any new equipment since they opened in 2020). 5) they have a turf area that anyone can use with plenty of an wheels, foam rollers and an adequate number of mats and kettle balls. Factors that stop me from giving them 5 stars... it's VERY busy during rush hour (Monday-Thursday). Weekends are reasonable. There's too many folks filming and trying to be fitness influencers. The Zumba class music is too loud and with the door open (just like City Sports), but to be fair, the manager has tried to fix this. If cardio equipment is important to you, City Sports & Planet have a lot more. read more

I've been a member of this gym since January, and I'm so glad to have such a convenient location close to home. Working with Devon, my personal trainer, has been an excellent experience. He is patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging, and he has helped me feel much more comfortable using the equipment safely and confidently. With his support, I've lost over 30 lbs. over the past 6 months of training, which has been incredibly motivating. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the gym is a bit small for the number of members and can get crowded at times. I've been a member here for the past 2 years. I'm moving now and have to switch gyms, so I thought I'd share what I like about this place before I go. My experience with Fitness 19 AC has been well! I've gained some muscle, enhanced my workout routines, and even gotten to know some people along the way. This gym offers a great amount of equipment: squat racks, benches, tons of dumbbells, a green, and lots of machines (pec fly, cable, Smith, etc). When some of the more popular items are taken, I can usually pivot to an alternative device to prevent losing time. Their equipment is mostly well-maintained, with machines getting fixed quickly after being down. The staff working here, for the most part, are friendly and helpful. I've never been trained by them, but everyone I see with a trainer usually has a smile on their face. I never had any issues with staff members and even got to know some of them by name. I was able to lock in a decent rate with Fitness 19, and their price to value ratio will probably never be beaten. There were basically no hidden fees, just sign up and pay month to month. Frankly, I've been spoiled, and the process of signing up for a new gym will be painful because there is so much nonsense out there! Cancelling was easy too, granted that I had been attending for over a year. I met many people there, and usually if you attend regularly (which you should if you're trying to improve), you'll see the same people over and over again. This is a great place if you want to foster relationships with gym homies. Every gym goer I spoke with here was super friendly, even the gargantuan guys who bench 300+. If I had to critique one thing about this location, it would be sanitation. I'm a clean freak, so perhaps I'm biased, but I wish their [men's] restrooms smelled better (lots of protein powder and pre workout lol). That, and their drinking fountain water tastes off to me (may want to see if there is a filter to check or something like that); there is also calcium deposits around the mouth pieces too. These factors didn't stop me from enjoying my time at Fitness 19, however, if they were mitigated, I would have enjoyed it all the more. Overall, I'd check this place out if you're looking to improve health and fitness for a great price! I'm no longer in the area, but I can say that Fitness 19 AC played a big part in my life. I've been going to Gym 19 for about 2 years. The week day staff are friendly and helpful though the wknd staff need to get off their cell phones and welcome people. A smile would be appreciative. My only complaint is the restrooms are terrible, smell of piss, floors filthy and the walls as well. Could use a fresh coat of paint and a good scrubbing with bleach. I notice others have complained of the restrooms and showers as well, but no change. Please address this issue. read more

Just started my membership and I'm loving it so far! The mid level membership is a great price and it includes all of the onsite amenities (sauna, massage beds, tanning, etc) plus access to classes. The gym has several squat racks and separate rooms for additional leg and upper body machines. Two things I really want to highlight are the personal trainer experience and the yoga classes. The gym is always clean, the equipment is in good condition. People are polite and respectful. But honestly, the personal trainer experience is on point! My trainer is Angelo Mandapat. He is attentive, patient, informative, And knowledgeable. I highly recommend Angelo if you are looking for a personal trainer. The Yoga instructor Maria Preciado is fabulous. (M,Tu,Th 9am, Fri Eve 6:45, and Sat 11am ) This is singularly the best yoga class I have ever attended. Maria's voice is soothing, her instructions are easy to understand and offers variations for intensity, she uses very relaxing music that works with the flow. I did not realize how much I would benefit from including yoga in my fitness journey until I took her class. Definitely take her class. Best yoga class I have ever attended. read more

I've been going to this gym for the past few years- it's got a lot of pros, but some serious cons that are making me consider cancelling my membership and trying out another gym altogether... Let's start with the pros. PROS: super reasonable pricing, especially for everything you get. Friendly & helpful staff. Love that they have a turf area as well as a studio/ mirrored area for classes, and it's good extra floor space when classes aren't in session. Nice that they have a sauna, red light therapy, tanning booth, hydromassage, and IN Body scan available. Good range of equipment/ plate loaded machines, squat racks, cardio machines, TRX, you name it. CONS: Here's what's making me reconsider my membership... the bathroom cleanliness is pretty unbearable. It's always been pretty dirty but I've been able to suck it up and tolerate it. Within the past month, I've started to notice black mold in the showers (unmistakably- it's fuzzy and everything), moldy and smelly shower curtains, wads of hair that don't get moved for weeks (indicating they're clearly not cleaning), and yesterday there were little black bugs on the shower floors that sort of looked like small black silverfish? The mats outside of the showers finally got cleaned a couple months ago, but they're starting to get that soapy/ moldy build up again. The sauna floor is extremely dirty as well and I'm not sure how often they clean it... makes me worry what we're breathing in. They also don't have any recycling bins despite California law and all of the cans and plastic they accumulate. :( These concerns have been brought up internally numerous times by many members of the gym and nothing seems to be improving. I'm super bummed because I otherwise love the gym, but I just need to keep my health and safety in mind. I shower here every morning before work and I don't want to be breathing in black mold... Hope they do something soon- it's a serious health code violation at this point. read more

This gym is awful. Where do I begin? The creeps that hang in this place or the equipment that you have to wait in line behind 20 people for? This place is too small to accommodate the amount of people they try to drag in here to get memberships. Love this gym! People are friendly and staff is super friendly with welcoming and saying goodbye to everyone (not just the regulars). Only thing I'd suggest is more stairmasters! 2 of them have been down and I waited over an hour for one to free up and it never did. It's a HOT commodity. Maybe y'all should find a way to get more stair machines and remove some of the less used equipment. read more

I'm a bit disappointed with my experience so far. I already have workout equipment at home, so I specifically signed up for the full-body red light therapy and sauna access. Unfortunately, both of these amenities were out of order. I was told the red light therapy machine has been down for three months, and I'm not sure how long the sauna has been unavailable. That said, I'm giving 3 stars because the staff and front desk team are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful--which I genuinely appreciate. I may explore some of the classes offered here, but as of now, I'm unsure whether I'll keep my membership much longer. read more

It's been a full year at this gym since moving to Vallejo and it's my go to because there are more amenities here than other fitness 19 and other gyms. Amenities: 1. Suana 2. Tanning 3. red lift therapy 4. 2 hydro massage chairs 10 min per session Front desk always greets and says bye, if you need something they come and help. Mornings you see the OGs men and women and everyone is nice. Same with afternoon you see a lot of the same ppl, so in a way it's a small little community. It does get busy around 4ish-8pm, so it's best to go before 3pm or literally right before they close to use whatever machine or weight you want. Could improve on cleanliness but they're going through with a whole new crew of workers and manager but things seem to be moving in the right direction. Sure there's no swimming pool but you can always go to your community pool for a few dollars to Swim. Machines are adequate for your necessary gains and fat loss, shoot in the year I've transformed my physique using everything here. read more

Went to visit my sister in Yuma, and she told me to check out her regular gym, when I was blown away even for the price a week's pass was absolutely worth it. The gym was excellent, extremely clean, the staff was informative, there were 2 separate sections for weights + machines so lots of room to have at it, I was absolutely obsessed with how much room and options I had to workout. Although the Fitness 19 in American Canyon, CA has a great staff and is a friendly gym I can't recommend going to this gym. There have been 2 complaints of sexual misconduct reported against one couple and it was decided that the couple can continue as members without repercussions. Instead, my membership fees have been refunded after reporting a very disturbing sexual incident. I feel, as a victim of sexual harassment, as if I'm being punished for their bad behavior. It was only after I made a report did I learn someone else had previously made a complaint against them. Up until this incident I truly enjoyed going to this gym. read more

I'm giving this gym a perfect score not because the gym itself is anything exceptional. The gym is nice, and a great value. What really sealed the deal for a 5/5 star rating is how the manager and the corporate refunded my money after a billing dispute. I was shocked that they did so, I was expecting the worst because that just seems to be the way business is done everywhere these days. I went in to cancel my daughter's membership because she moved. The gal at the desk said she didn't have the answers to what I was asking and said the man who deals with this had not yet arrived. A moment later, he arrives and she goes to talk to him. He comes over and we speak about the process and I say to him, to be clear- I need to give a 30 day notice to avoid the 50. Cancel fee. And wanted to verify when the annual fee was going to hit. So if I give my 30 day now, I won't have to pay the 50 AND it's before the annual 50. I only had to pay the monthly 15. Yes he says, then SHE raises her voice saying my attitude is making her uncomfortable. Blew me away and I fired back. Now I absolutely will cancel ALL family membership to this gym. Gym and staff members aren't bad but there is one that stares or lingers around you as they do their walk through and occasionally stop to watch the tv. My issue with this place is the people and lack of courtesy of others. People who occupy more than one machine at a time, set up tripods, take long breaks between reps to use their phone, slamming of weights, stand around blocking equipment to have a full on 10 minute conversation. Those who hoover over you and diligently glare because they want next. Those who interrupt you ask how much longer you got. Those who toss things across the room to a buddy then dip behind a machine because it a playground. Sign up is easy but if you have account billing questions, cancellation or want to put your account on hold, good luck. I called the front desk and theyre telling me I need to email so and so. I've tried calling the number with no success. (It's a possibility the I'm not getting the proper help from a staff?) Also, I tried to downgrade my membership and I was told I had to pay the cancellation fee and resign up and pay the new annual fee?! Absurd! Ps. Women sauna needs a light and door knob! read more

This new gym replaced inshape, with more squat racks, benches, free weights, and so much more! The staff is actually so kind! I say "actually" because I came across staff at other gyms that were just rude. Onto cleanliness, there are wipes to wipe down your workout station when you are finished, and I see staff always walking by to just clean as well, so 5/5 for that. Next for the weights, some people don't even put their weights away, but the staff always make sure to put the weights back in their respected areas, like the dumbbells and plates. I gotta say the staff is what really gets me here, they make fitness19 feel clean, and such a friendly and comfortable environment to workout in. I have been going to this gym for about a year now. I started off with a few trainers that I really liked that are currently not there but now I am working with Shane who when I first started working with I was nervous. I didn't think that he would get me to my goals. Well he proved me different. He has encouraged me to do things such as step ups and not to be afraid to do them and to trust in myself. We recently worked on leg press machine and I had doubt he showed be that there was no reason for me to think that I could not do it. He is taking me to a higher level of workouts I am 58 with mobility issues that he has helped me over come and is helping me with balance and strength. I have moved from 2 days with him to 3 days.
