I've been coming to this In-Shape for a few years now, and I've always liked it. Like any In-Shape, the membership isn't cheap, but when I renewed recently, the manager helped me get a good discount. They were willing to work with me, which I really appreciated. One thing I really like is that this is the only gym I've been to where my car has never been vandalized. At other gyms in Vallejo I've had my windows smashed, but never here. I'm not sure if it's because of the location or because the security guards are always walking the parking lot, but it definitely gives me peace of mind. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the gym is clean, and they've been doing a lot of renovations lately. The equipment is well maintained, and the machines are rarely out of order. My only complaint is that the main weight room is a little small and can get crowded during peak hours. Other than that, it's a great gym, and I'd definitely recommend it. read more

Wow. I called the Vallejo store today, and the first thing I did was ask to talk to a manager just in reference to my 3rd membership to see if new customers would be accepted. Ms Alisa tells me that they don't allow us to speak to a managers unless it's something they can't handle. I said well I just asked to speak to one because I figured I would have to go through them to get some insight on how i should move forward about the potential membership there. Then she proceeds to say yeah that's not how that works and I'm only allowed to talk to a manager if she can't help me with the voice of arrogance that was just beyond me. At this point I'm wondering what's with the attitude and arrogance. Then she also proceeds to say I'm the only one there anyway. I couldn't get a word in edgewise because she was so focused being the manager police. I'm also thinking like a 35,000 square foot gym has only one person there. At this point I was completely turned off and said i would I just call back. Top flight Alisa has me totally reconsidering getting membership here if that's the culture of this place. Ive been trying to get in touch with the GM of this location through other managers-in-charge about concern of safety and well-being. My concerns have fell on deaf-ears and it's unfortunate because I really enjoyed going to this gym for the past few years. Need a good place to work out? Sure! It's nice! I'll start with the not so good: I would love to see more Life Cycle exercise bicycles. There is only one, downstairs, and the exercise bicycle upstairs isn't the same type and it's not comfortable for me. The one downstairs has been broken for 3 weeks. I have brought it to the attention of 3 staff members who have heard it and said it will be taken care of. The front wheel makes a terrible clanging sound that is as disturbing to the people around me as it is to me. Please fix the machine promptly and seriously consider getting getting an additional one upstairs. For a fitness center of this size one more is the bare minimum. I hate to write about my experience in this way as I've been coming here for a couple years now. I came from the 24 hr fitness at Hilltop & I've checked out City Sports, Club Pilates Benicia & even Orange Theory. I love the classes/instructors here (Roberto, Ari, Beth & Marta, Benny!) & the remodeled sauna! However I don't feel they are fully family friendly and more profit driven. My eldest daughter and I got in a fatal car accident last year. we both required surgery and as we recovered being able to return to moving our bodies we upgraded our plan so that we can bring a guest; recover, get stronger together. One evening we got stopped and blonde lady working at the front desk asked for her ID that she did not have on her so she said my daughter could not work out because she is underage (under 18) and to add her to our plan it would be an additional $40 per month! on top of the $80 we pay. Just imagine being told you can bring an extra person for an additional $10/month. Have been paying & bringing your child for months and then boom suddenly you can't. This is the second or third time I've had an issue here at Vallejo in Shape. I have 4 kids & carving out the time & coverage to consistently come to the gym- trying to keep my health first. I would like to just pay the fee & show up. The primary reason for me to add a guest to our plan is for safety especially at night or 5am when its dark and there is no sun out. I mean a 16 year old can work and drive but not work out for the same amount of a guest 18 or over? This just put a wrench in our lifestyle, health & safety. Truly disappointing. I'm concerned about the fairness of InShape's no-show policy, especially when classes are cancelled due to inclement weather without prior notification. Members should be informed of cancellations to avoid unnecessary penalties. My experience at the 11am-12pm, 12/21/25 RQT Pickleball class in Vallejo, which was cancelled due to rain, resulted in a 'no-show' fee. Although the Assistant Manager waived the penalty, I think the policy requires review and clarification. Actually, this is my second review in a matter of 2 months. If it weren't for me living in Oakland 30 minutes away, this would be my home gym. 3 floors - the first has a basketball court, women's/men's lockers, a pool, sauna and a steam room. The second floor is dedicated to cardio and some strength training and the third complete with more cardio, more strength training and a room to cool down - yoga, active recovery, that kind of thing. Plenty of space and plenty of machines, weights, and spray bottles for cleaning. Also, I felt spoiled with them having towels. Unfortunately, my gym took that away in 2017. Anyway, this gym is definitely worth it if you live in Vallejo or nearby. Enjoy it for me! read more

Several years ago I joined In-Shape at this location. I mainly wanted to play pickle ball, to learn the game. That much I can thank them for. At that time, parking was extremely limited. it's so bad that people park on the fire lanes, trucks park with two wheels in the landscaping in two wheels in the driveway, people without ATA/disabled parking permits park in the very limited number of spaces reserved for disabled members. I know, I'm one; it is extremely difficult to find a disabled space that's not taken, and it's impossible at the busiest hours. So you think maybe they will increase those? They've been telling us for years that they plan to increase parking, but there hasn't been one shovel of dirt turned to build more parking. I have taken photographs of people illegally parking in disabled spaces, a people parking on the fire lanes of people parking in the roadway, and they do nothing about this. When asked about improving the situation for the Pickleball courts, like resurfacing The cracked and crumbling concrete surfaces, repainting the courts so that they're not just on top of tennis courts, we are told that that has to wait for the parking lot expansion plans to be completed. They're all tied together, and nothing is happening, not for years. read more

I went in for a tour and workout after reading about the recent "cardio makeover." I left this gym a few years back because paying $55/ month didn't make sense when 7/10 cardio machines (elliptical, treadmill) weren't fully functional each time I went in. Suffice to say not much had changed... they did replace 5 or 6 treadmills but 6/7 elliptical machines I tried weren't working. I let the front desk know and she checked her book and saw two of those had been reported already. This facility could be amazing if they updated their cardio machines. That's a staple at most gyms and I never have to worry about having adequate functioning elliptical and treadmills at 24 Hour Fitness. I wish they would come back to Vallejo. read more

Hidden gem! This isn't your typical bargain-bin gym, but you get what you pay for. Everything is clean, there are plenty of amenities, and the staff is all super nice and friendly, even early in the morning. There are three levels: the ground floor has all the heavy weight machines (e.g. seated cable row, lat pulldown), barbells, and dumbbells, and the second and third floors have more targeted weight machines (think arm curl, pec fly, etc) and cardio equipment. Other than the occasional person who thinks it socially acceptable to blast their music for all to hear or, better yet, burst out singing themselves at full volume at 5:30am (seriously, even though R. Kelly is in for life, I think he should still be the one to sing Ignition Remix), I've found other gym-goers to be friendly, respectful, and, most importantly, willing to wipe down their machines. COVID notwithstanding, it's refreshing to belong to a gym whose clientele are familiar with Louis Pasteur and his work. All in all, this place is great and I look forward to coming here damn near every day. It's conveniently located seconds off I-80 and next to a McD's and 7-11 for those post-workout McFlurries and Slurpees. Keep it up, staff -- I appreciate you! read more

This location has STEPPED it up from the last time I was here! Awesome customer service! Since it has re-opened, you cannot just walk in the gym. You MUST download the In-Shape App and make a reservation for a day and time to come in. At first, the system was super slow but they fixed the glitches and I have had no problem making a reservation since! You are allotted a 30 minute window to check in and a total of 2 hours to work out which includes that check in window. Before you head out, don't forget the following items: mask (they ask that you wear it when not working out), towel (to wipe off that sweat! hahaha as of now, they are not giving out towels), and water to keep hydrated. It is actually nice with these reservations because with less people you have a bigger bubble of space! Also, you can use the equipment quicker! More time working out than waiting?! YASSSS! I think this would be a great club under better management. I have made several complaints to the manager in person and in writing regarding broken equipment. The manager ensured me on multiple occasions the equipment would be replaced. She displaces blame onto her staff, and holds no accountability as a manager. Malfunctioning equipment could be easily prevented with regular equipment inspections to ensure all the parts and pieces such as batteries, pins, straps, belts, etc. are intact and in working order. Scarce bottles of disinfectant solution and towels on every level make it difficult for members to wipe down equipment after use. The women's showers smell badly, a clear indicator of bacteria. I hope someone from corporate will read this and make a intervention. read more

So get this. I opened up an account for my son, under my name as he was under age and not legally able to open an account. My son no longer uses the gym (hasn't since pandemic) so I go into the gym to cancel my membership, well thats not going to work, they said my son has to cancel it...What, I'm the one paying for it and HE has to cancel it? To top it off my son has moved to LA and is not here to cancel it. What company requires an at the time minor to cancel an agreement made by there parent? I've instructed my bank to not allow charges from Inshape, guess what I got, a letter informing me of the back charges, for an account they wont let me cancel.... In-shape has a wide variety of classic gym places and equipment. Their tennis and pickleball courts have no cracks which is good as no tripping hazards. I joined after 24hr fitness closed. The staff is helpful, friendly, and professional. The facility is clean and equipment in good repair. I've been using the 29 minute circuit training which is perfect for my needs - easily scalable as I try to work back from a couple injuries. I haven't seen a similar workout elsewhere. And then there's pickleball! Good job, ya'll. Btw, I suffer from allergies and the air filtration is good enough that I will come work out instead of taking allergy meds!!! read more

Great gym to work out in, they truly accommodate your daily work out routines as a facility . But that's really it. Two times I've left my daughter there (in there daycare play area), the two employees where on there fone when I walked in and when I got back, one toddler was crying for two minutes straight. My child was missing a shoe, when I had asked if she'd seen it. Her reply was, " oh somewhere over there." Went to that area, and she started laughing awkwardly saying oh another kid has it, my bad". And they close at 10pm most of the week which is really early. If it wasn't so close to me, I probably would cancel my membership. read more

I went online and canceled my membership and then received an email saying I owed $200 for early cancelation. I then sent a letter to their corporate office membership dept. outlining the many issue I have with the facility and requesting that they wave the $200 fee. It's old and needs many repairs and updating, including the way outdated barely working machines. Also, the men's locker room smells like mold so they have a problem that needs immediate attention. No one wants to breathe mold spores. I never got a reply so I decided to email them. No reply. I can only assume the corporate office doesn't care about the members. I then canceled my cancelation since I don't want to pay another $200. As soon as I can I will cancel my membership again without the cancelation fee. read more

My boyfriend and I went there to use the free 3 day pass because we wanted to switch to a new gym. Can confidently say it will not be this one. We didn't get greeted when we walked in, so we went to the computers in front of the window that said "new member? sign up here." An old woman at the front desk rudely told us not to touch or use the computers and to go over to the front desk. When I told her about the 3 day pass she told me I would have to pay $20 dollars a day and that there wasn't a 3 day pass, I showed her my phone for proof then she back tracked and told us we would have to schedule a tour and then come back to use the 3 day pass after the tour. Update to my previous review. How nice that customer service get back to me through a YELP review, however how about answering phones, returning calls, and not state you are following guidelines when it is clear you are not! Have tried daily to get through to the actual cub in Lincoln Road and either get put through to a different club, during operational hours, mail box is full, or nothing at all. This is everyday. I called the corporate offices also and found they are just as hard to get through to. Finally left a voicemail in HR (the only number taking messages) and still have not heard back. How about reaching out to your customers and not through a review that needed posting only due to lack of customer service. Day one of new membership at Lincoln Road, Vallejo CA. When joining was told that they are strict about CV-19 rules yet equipment is barely cleaned, 6 people in one part of the gym (weight room) were not wearing masks, and 1 person walked through the lobby with no mask and staff say nothing. When asking front desk, management was not available, and front desk didn't seem to like my questioning of the policy for CV-19. A far cry from what the state has mandated. 130,000 dead and this club isn't taking this seriously. Can not get through to a live person, and messages state their message system is full. Tried corporate and same deal. Customer service wait time is no less than 60 minutes and can't leave messages as most department system message machines are full. Post COVID19 Review. After weeks of waiting the In-Shape app began saying that the clubs would be reopening and there would be a notification on when each club would open. No notification, no email, no app alert. Appointments are made through an app that doesn't work. Making your reservation takes hours and while the club is open, no one answers the phone and you can't make an appointment at the gym. The facilities are functional and usually kept clean, except the men's locker room. I've been an In-Shape member for over three years. While new members are rewarded with free or reduced rates, shirts and other gear dedicated members are rewarded with FitClub - where you're reward for visits. The problem is the app, or employees (?) don't log your visits. Its unfortunate that there isn't a better option in Vallejo. read more
