After the remodel I think this is a gym with a value that is very difficult to beat. I've only personally been here a handful of times as a guest. But every experience so far has been great! There's plenty of cardio machines available at all times. From what I've seen people are respectful and wipe down the equipment after use. The biggest bonus is you can bring a guest with you every time. It's like a two in one membership! In the multiples times I've been here I've only seen one machine out of service. Certain machines are very popular/almost always in use like the assisted pull up. I think there may only be one of those. There's a vending machine with drinks available. The people working at the front have been polite. Be warned there are signs not to leave any valuables in the lockers. Keep them with you at all times. I have been attending this gym for over a year. I have complained about the state of the mens locker /room restroom for the entire time I have attended here. Nothing ever changes. Currently there is a urinal out of order, it has been out of order for 3 months. Previously the only other urinal was out of order and had not been addressed or cleaned . It was disgusting. Stale urine sitting for weeks is not acceptable in a public restroom. I have encountered hair in the sinks, toothpaste on the countertop, unclean floors and the showers smell like mildew/mold. I would never use the showers or lockers for fear of disease or bugs. This facility is absolutely repulsive. Do better Planet Fitness Vallejo! read more

Horrible experience. The place is perpetually sweaty. The manager here is always rude, treating me like trash. They've always created problems for me and my friends and family. Sometimes its billing issues so they prevent you from working out, sometimes its app issues or sign-in issues; Today, the manager said that since I was having app issues, I would have to pay $12 to workout. Seriously? The employees are not trained on how to have a decent conversation or how to deescalate an issue. The bathrooms are a privacy issue and I've seen old naked men just hanging out there. The system is horrible as well-- for example, if you go to a different location, they will not let you workout there. I am officially done with planet fitness and will be changing gyms. read more

I've had a membership with another gym for many years. However, because my usual gym doesn't have a location in Vallejo, I decided to join Planet Fitness (Vallejo on Sonoma). The gym management could do better with training some of their employees with customer service skills. I was told by one of the employees behind the desk that their system is down for the massage chairs, beds and tanning booths/beds. Mind you he doesn't say why or when they will be available again. I sat back and watched multiple gym members try and scan their phones to sign up for either the massages and/or tanning and as they try and scan, he slowly turns around to inform them in a nonchalant tone that the monitor doesn't work then go back to talking with the other gym employees behind the counter smh. All the gym members left with a look of bewilderment and confusion on their faces. He didn't even apologize for the inconvenience of their equipment not working because he was too busy running his mouth with co-workers about frivolous things. Up until a month ago, I was the most happiest customer there is what they do is. I was one day late on my auto pay. They charge me devil I tried to get out of my contract. It's almost impossible. I've been treated bad in Vallejo and Richmond to the point to where I'm not gonna go anymore, I've been Really ripped off for $120. You can always cancel your membership and I hate it there now. Very good and clean facility. Been coming here even before the remodel and was good then, much better now that everything's new and clean. Much more room now, and workout stations are better arranged than before. New locker rooms and bigger shower stalls. Also everything seems more brighter which is better than before I think. Also air circulation seems better even in the locker rooms. They also have a remodeled Black Card area which is nice and the front counter is also remodeled. Worst customer service ever. Management always harassing you. Don't do this, don't do that. Don't bring your bags, don't bring your resistance bands, no jumping ropes. I've been a member of most gyms in Vallejo and only PF managers keep harassing. I am a member of CS and in shape and It's so much different. PF fitness worked on a useless remodeling (because it just looks re arranged) closing large sections and the entire facility for months. Did they bother to give us a discount or refund? No. They're were simply like "go to Napa or somewhere else". Their equipment is really basic. Not for people seriously lifting. They don't have benches for chest pressing. Only Smith Machines; the worst for chest. The club has been missing the 50 pound Z bar forever. Dumbbells are always misplaced. I really wonder how stretching for 5 minutes with my resistance band before my workout can be troublesome. The only good thing about this club is the regular crew. They're friendly but management act more like cops or high school teachers just watching after every move you make. Clearly the manager has something against me. He came up to me and told me "no bags on the floor". Seemed like that rule only applied to me because everyone had their bags on the floor. Even larger ones. The only reason I keep this membership is because the location is convenient. I've been documenting all this information because I think it's more of a discrimination issue with me. read more

My girlfriend and I have been going to this planet fitness in Vallejo for years because it is closest to our home. Some pros about this gym compared to others is that it is massive compared to the one in Napa, Vacaville, and Concord. However, there are more cons compared to the other gyms. Although the gym equipment is in working order, they can use an update because all of the other local planet fitness gyms all have newer equipment. The bathroom and shower area needs a major, major renovation compared to the other gyms. This planet fitness does have a couple massage chairs and some other amenities that you can use if you are black cardmember which I believe is still $20 a month. This card allows you to visit any planet fitness and bring in one guest per visit. The area surrounding this gym is not in the best area and is constantly known for car break-ins, stolen cars, and unfortunately muggings. With that being said, I suggest you go during the day or if you go at night, go with a person and definitely carry your belongings with you. I highly, highly advise you to carry your keys wallet and other important belongings with you while you're working out. Do not use their lockers. We have had a personal experience with someone breaking into our locker and actually stealing our car.. which we thankfully recovered. The staff are friendly and say hello and have a good night when you leave. The gym is overall pretty clean. Anywhooo, do I reccommend this planet fitness? Answer: if you're willing to drive an extra 15-20 minutes more, I suggest you check out the other gyms in the neighboring cities. As of today: 11/29/21, they are still not open 24/7.. they close at 7pm on the weekends. read more

One of the most ridiculous customer service examples I've ever encountered. Totally there to steal your money. I signed up 3 days before the gym closed indefinitely due to COVID and they continued to bill me every month. But the most frustrating part is that I couldn't even cancel! I tried to call multiple times for a couple months but there was no one at the gym to field my calls. I didn't even get a key yet. I checked/called every month for a couple months before I decided to just wait till they were open and available for me to go in and complain. I eventually ended up emailing the corporate team and they left me with "Unfortunately there are no updates at this time. We have once again shared your concerns with our franchise management team." Located on Sonoma drive, I'm not really to fond of the area. Roads are literally filled with broken concrete and potholes. There is also a habit of leftover car accident glass and small parts, left in the street. Free parking is offered to all members and visitors. Please be mindful of parking lot safety. Drivers tend to run stop signs and speed. Pedestrians also just step into the crosswalk without looking. Please drive the speed limit. I wish they would repaint the ground arrows within the parking lot. Planet fitness neighbors include the Dollar Tree and DD's Discount. About a 5-8 minute drive from Kaiser and Grocery Outlet. I pay $19.99 a month to experience the black card membership. This includes full access to all machines + massage chair and tanning rooms. The gym's overall cleanliness is great. Disinfecting spray and paper towels offered. Other amenities offered are hand sanitizers stations, restroom and showers, water bottle refills, WIFI and television choices. Customer service can be a little hit or miss. There is a lack of customer/employee interaction. I would think employees would be on the floor to assist in workout techniques. It must be a turnover because I never see anyone. Large variety of workout equipment offered. Full body workouts areas include the 30 minute intense workout and strategy area. Plenty of cardio workout options and strength training. Never experienced out of service machines. Vibe of gym is pretty laid back and quiet. The stand up tanning booth had dirty footprints in both times I visited, the message chairs are missing the material, and most of the disinfectant bottles were empty. This gym has HORRIFIC management and customer service. Be very mindful of joining this gym, they mishandle billing, and cancellations, and will send you to collections if you dispute their overcharges with your bank!! Your money will be spent better at another gym that actually cares about what they're doing! I requested to cancel my membership virtually due to the current pandemic and not living in the Bay Area anymore. I called for 6 months and I was given a different story each time about my membership status and how to cancel virtually (it always changed after I was billed the next month). I sent emails that "couldn't be found", and then weren't acknowledged after forwarding them to the EXACT SAME email that you all emailed me from! Big upgrade only thing is the parking lot needs a lift. The showers are finally bigger I remember it felt like I was taking a shower in rv. Now feels like I'm taking shower in the Hilton's. I was told you are closed due to renovations are you? I went there 2-3 weeks ago at 5am and wasted my time driving there; you had a water leak. I keep calling and I'm getting a busy signal when it prompts me to speak to a team member. Top it off I'm still paying for my gym membership services. I would appreciate if when I call someone answers or they update online website your closed "under renovations" so I'm not wasting my time driving there early in the morning or constantly calling to check when your opening for business! I loved this location when it first opened, but not so much anymore. Standing in line waiting to work out is time consuming, and I'm on a tight schedule with two jobs. Customer service is terrible. I don't feel comfortable going alone at night because of the area, plus I'm always afraid of vandalism and theft. I usually drive 30-45mins out of my way to use the Vacaville location. I joined Planet Fitness recently so that I wouldn't have to cross the bridge to 24 Hour Fitness. The Vallejo location seemed clean and I was excited to try a new gym. On only my 3rd visit, I tried that 30 min. circuit room only to find 4 people in there who were not shifting to different machines at the 'green light' intervals. I asked 2 different women if I could shift to their spot and got either an eye-roll or straight up 'no.' I decided to ask for assistance at the front desk, which I've never done before at any gym, and what a mistake! A guy (who I found out later as the manager) seemed like he was going to help and agreed the situation can be frustrating. But then he said I had to come with him so that he could address my issue with specific people. I told him I didn't want to be put in that awkward situation and have people giving me dirty looks, or worse, and said no thank you. I turned and attempted to walk away to another area of the gym, but he followed me! He raised his voice saying "ma'am that's how we handle these things here." I said I didn't want any part of that and simply wanted him to remind people of the policy and again, attempted to turn away. Again, he loudly said "ma'am" and followed me! I turned and asked him to lower his voice and stop causing a scene. I didn't want help anymore and could he please leave me alone, but guess what? He didn't. People were staring! I walked quickly away (with him still yelling) escaping toward the bathroom. I decided to leave the gym a few minutes later as I was so shocked and frustrated by his twilight zone behavior. I stopped at the front desk, now discovering that HE was the manager, and expressed how disappointed I was at being treated like a criminal after making such a simple request. He again raised his voice and berated me, saying he can talk at any volume and any way he pleased to anyone in his gym ! This person has no business being a manager --- I noticed a similar review about him back in March of this year as well. Maybe someone at corporate should take notice. read more

I wanted to cancel my membership and I was asking questions. When this RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, guy claimed to be the manager. Verbally and aggressively told me to get out , that they were closing!!! Now I can see why so many people cancel their memberships at this location. Hiring young and underqualified individuals. That would rather be rude to the people that are paying their salaries. Since it is a franchise only this location can reach out and they have had there phones off the entire time during closure without voicemail just absurd. Now I get an email saying they are open and still no answer. Despite the fact that I am sure they won't forget to bill me. Who can help me with this, a real live person???? In response to your reply. There is no wait time as you mentioned the phone simply doesn't ever have anyone answering. I have tried multiple times a day at varying times (since it's been open) During the pandemic they didn't have anyone staffed to answer phones and had no way of leaving a message. 5 stars because... for the most part, it worked great for me - FOR YEARS. I've recently decided to cancel my membership with them only for one reason, I do not have the time to wait in line to work out. I totally understand we are in the middle of a pandemic but this line is ridiculous! I understand they have to take precautions and maintain a certain capacity to ensure social distancing, but damn. I think the entire city of vallejo goes to this gym because the lines be INSANE. Unless you go as soon as they open or a random time in the afternoon (and you're lucky) the line won't be as crazy. I usually try to squeeze in an hour work out, but lately I've been having to wait in line for 5-10 minutes which cuts in to the free time I have available for that time of day. I simply just don't have much time to waste. Aside from that, pre covid and even now - this gym is sufficient. Lots ... AS IN LOTS of cardio machines, they have new weight machines, and a little TRX area. It literally does the job. I usually do not like talking when I'm at the gym, so I do not really mind the staff. They actually do a great job in interacting with their guest because I am ALWAYS greeted and always acknowledged when I leave. And that's honestly good enough for me. The problem with this gym is a simple lack of leadership. When you walk into the men's locker room, smells like a homeless shelter. Homeless people frequent the locker room shower make a mess leave things unattended Items such as cans bottles dirty clothes etc. The lockers smell to high heaven. In addition, the locker rooms being disgusting. The tanning booth and standing tanning machine are always dirty the lack of cleanliness is astonishing. The best thing I ever did was cancel my membership. Those of you who may think spending a little less it's such a great deal I advise you to spend a few extra dollars and go to a gym that cares about its members. One more thing that I forgot to mention on numerous occasions homeless vagrants were doing their laundry in the sinks where we are supposed to wash our hands again astonishing. read more

This gym is exposing its customers to extremely loud noises during construction. Up to 90 decibels of continuous noise at some times. Anything over 75 decibels requires hearing protection. read more

Great Planet Fitness! I'm comparing this facility to the others I have worked out at and it's one of the best. I love that it's 24 hours. I can workout anytime. There are several rooms for stretching, abs workout, and the 30 min workout. Various equipment, but limited medicine balls on the floor. Clean facility and friendly staff. For black card members, there are tanning beds, massage chairs, and the aqua massage. The massage chairs area has a tv. The aqua massage is AMAZING!!!!! I don't tan, so you have to review someone else review for that. The gym is located in a shopping plaza. During the day the plaza is busy. Not enough lighting at night. Overall, great gym!
