I have been with Fitness 19 since 2013, as the very first time I entered that gym, and took my first Zumba class...... I was hooked! This review is waaay outdated but I decided to write it anyway. This gym was really clean when I worked out there last year, I'll definitely give it that but I just wanted to add that trying to cancel my membership here was so annoying. Okay, I'll admit I can be a pushover at times but it took more than one time of asking to cancel to get my membership cancelled. They make you sit down with someone and talk it out and yadda yadda, not my thing. They will NOT let you cancel over the phone, they say you HAVE to go into the gym to do so. I got talked out of it the first time, I admitted but the only way I was eventually able to cancel was because I knew one of the workers and I told him I was sick of getting talked to about it and to just cancel it asap because I was done with it. I know gyms try to do this, I used to work at 24 Hour but c'mon give me a break. -___- read more

I was under contract for a year, and never put my membership to use; not once did I step foot in this place. I took the experience as a lost, and didn't think anything of it until they took it upon themselves to renew my membership without my consent. The number under my former membership belonged to someone else, and they're harassing the residence in the hopes of getting me to pay them another year; accusing me of fees due. The business is real shady, and I suggest anyone looking for a local gym to invest the extra money into a 24 Hr. Fitness or L.A. Fitness membership. At least they'll understand the concept of contractual agreements. I did my year, and they are harassing people using a business practice which seems borderline illegal... Obviously they have no idea what canceled means! BTW I've contacted the BBB in regards to the business' shady practices! read more

So disappointed in this place. Came back from out of the country for a workout since they did not refund my previous request. I checked in and then realized I forgot my headset so I went outside to retrieve it. Walked back in to get on the bike and literally felt like I was bout to be tackled to the ground because FRANK the manager didn't see me swipe my key card in the first time I walked in. As a Marine we observe everything. I was able to see him speaking to a coworker at the counter, they walked away, he went in to locker room and then I walked out. All in a time span of 1 minute. Yet they didn't notice anything. Way to kill my workout motivation FRANK. And then you give me this look like I am imposing. To all military...STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This gym is somewhat close to my place, so it's very convenient. They have all the machines I need to workout, it's not dirty, classes are fun, and there's a sauna in the women's restroom. The only thing I don't like is there is some creepy old Mexican man i think his name is Carlos, he looks about 50, or maybe 40's idk, he is a creepy perverted stalker and he hits on and stares at young women. From the reviews on here I was very skeptical about this gym but I have been pleasantly surprised! The entire staff is very nice, friendly always smiling. The kids room is definitely only for younger kids but at least they offer it at a reasonable price! So far I've seen someone cleaning every time I'm there and it genuinely seems very clean. June and I have been coming here for a few months now. She wanted to start working out, and I needed to start working out...LOL. The price is right, not too expensive. They have daycare while your working out. The place looks clean. There is a large room where they do classes like Yoga and Zumba. Monday thru Friday they open at 6:00AM. This is cool, because after working a night shift I can go in for a workout before I go home. They have Personal Trainers available, but you have to pay for a certain amount of sessions (I believe). The classes they have in that large room I talked about above cost extra too. I think their locker rooms could be a little bigger with maybe a larger shower/sink area. They do not have a pool or a sauna either. They would be nice additions. So it's a nice place with limited bells and whistles, but I don't need one of those fancy places that charge an arm and a leg. I would have been happy to come back after the pandemic, but instead they charged me for the months they were closed and referred my account to a collection agency. Great! I just referred them to the county for breaking covid-19 regulations, and to the state for price gouging during the pandemic. I hope you guys have fun fighting this in court since you're making me deal with constant calls from a collection agency. Don't trust this they act nice but then they'll screw you. I asked the new manager Ben to end up my 1 year contract today which was due only February 2022 with 3 months before And I was supposed to pay a $50 termination fee, plus the cheapest monthly fee of $9 every month for the gym, but he solved it all. I work out with her 2 days a week and she is always going above and beyond to make sure I hit my goals. Paula is a great teacher, and will motivate you. Inexpensive, and functional. The classes are big and it seems very high energy. They have all the equipment you would ever need at a fraction of the cost of 24 hr or LA fitness. The personal training is at a bargain as well. the staff seems friendly and the facility is always clean but can get a bit crowded during certain times. By no means am I a gym rat. Hell, just by looking at me you probably wouldn't guess that I ever see the inside of one. Truth is, I'm not as much of a regular as I should be, but I try. Anyway, enough of my self deprecation. I've been going to gyms in one form or another for the past 15-18 years and the thing I like the best about Fitness 19 is the size. It's not some obnoxious globo-gym type thing with multiple stories, an obscene sound system and an elitest atmosphere. On the contrary, Fitness 19 is big enough to be effective and has enough machines/weights etc to accomodate everyone with little wait time. Also, how anyone could turn down a $9/month "subscription" to this place is a fool. The trainers are all nice people and there isn't a single creepy vibe to be found. If you're on a budget (like me) and looking to start off the new year with a fitness routine, give this place a shot. I may even see you there. read more

After reading all of the reviews, I went in trying to pay cash, so I don't have the problem of them constantly billing me. So, on the phone I was told I can pay cash but have to have a 6 month commitment and pay it up front. No big deal. Fair enough. After I open the door, walking right past the 7.95 sign up/rate sign. We sit down and im told, "ok so it's 14.95 sign up, and than 14.95 a month after that" so we ask well what happened to the 7.95 that's posted all over the gym and website. "Well we have that too, but with that membership you can only come to the gym 7am to noon." Yanno, when normal people are working. There's nothing more annoying than a business that hides, false advertises and always has a catch. Left and took my business elsewhere as that's not a good start to a financial relationship. read more

Seriously love this gym! This is the first gym I ever signed with, it's near and dear to my heart y'all! I'm a Texas girl who is here in California making a new life so that I can be happily married to the man of my dreams. I was nervous to sign with a gym because I pictured the typical plastic, superficial, fake images you can sometimes encounter with being in southern Cali. Breath of fresh air!! Staff is down to earth, the people who come here to workout are generally interested in their workout and not just "looking hot" or trying to pick people up. You don't get too many unwanted stares. You can't beat the price + mixed with friendly staff ++ the awesome child care center! My daughter took to the girls in there immediately. They gave her a cute little nickname and always remembered us. Seriously some of the sweetest girls. I went back home for 8ish months and when I returned I resigned with F19 and the girls still remembered us by name and face!! Too cute. They did a great job with hiring them. I have personally trained with trainer Teresa. I was given an amazing deal! She was so sweet and really pushed me. I would far recommend the trainers here over the ones at LA Fitness! They don't pressure you into anything and are really just there to help. The gym does get pretty busy in the late evening, but as long as you come before 6 you can usually beat the rush. Sometimes you do have to wait for equipment but people are usually friendly and let you know when they're done. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to just get back into shape! The people who workout here look like actual people, not giant muscle heads. It's great for new mamas or younger girls afraid to sign with a big commercial gym. I was able to really focus on my own fitness goals and not feel self conscious during the process. Sign with them you won't regret it. I made the mistake of switching to LA Fitness! Learned my lesson and will be signing back with F19 when I finish school in October :) read more

If I could give 0 STARS I would. Manager finally called me back, yet cannot help you out at all. Do Not Join this Gym you will sign a fine print agreement which will put you through barbaric processes when trying to cancel your membership. You cannot call, nor email the gym in any way which will allow you to cancel your membership. If you have to move away, in a timely manner, they will ask you to come back to their office to fill out a cancellation form. I live over 1000 miles away and they still asked me to do this first. Then with their lack of technology and lack of customer service they will make you send in a USPS mailed letter. On this letter which must be in a standard size USPS acceptable envelope, with postage paid. This means the Worst Gym in the World Fitness 19 will make you use more of your own time and money to go buy stamps, envelopes, paper, and pen to write them this cancellation form. Making things even more difficult than they have to be, just to get your membership cancelled. This will deter you from doing so right away, especially if you are busy with "life/work" this can put extra burden on you. Overall i rate this gym 1 star for its terrible customer service; Uncleanly workout areas; nasty locker rooms; and overall lack of technology. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that can afford it.I read more

When I applied to fitness 19, there was a nice gentleman Xavier that help me and my friend out explaining everything from prices to the equipment that the gym provide for us to workout with. When we applied it was back in June, we still wearing masks and social distance. They were able to accommodate the advertised terms but did not disclose the $49 annual fee the is charged 2 months after sign up. Recently joined gym. The staff is incredibly friendly, the gym is clean, and the child care is outstanding. Overall I am very impressed with the way this gym is ran. This is such a great gym that me and I'm glad they've remained open during COVID. To start they have great customer service. They always greet me when I check in or when I'm leaving and are incredibly sincere. They are always willing to help with questions about specific machines and workouts. I love going to this gym. They have a wide variety of weight machines to use, great group classes. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the personal training sessions are well worth the money. My Trainer Harris Ocampo is top notch. Very knowledgeable in his field. I have been a member here for about six months, the longest I have ever stuck with a gym, and I don't see myself going anywhere else anytime soon. The staff is super friendly and make you feel like they really care about your goals, as opposed to other places who just treat me like another dollar sign. Rather than trying to pressure me into anything, they explained to me how working out will me with my health goals, and let me make my own decision as to what I wanted to do there. Their kids club is awesome, my boys love going there to play while I workout. The only downfall is that this location is packed between 4-7, so I always go in the mornings. read more

We told two managers we needed to cancel as we were moving to Tennessee where there were no locations and instead of letting us know we needed to sign a document to do so they continued trying to sell us on a personal training package leaving us unknowingly charged again and membership STILL not cancelled. They want to keep dragging this out, keep charging us in the meantime and are refusing to help rectify the situation, leaving us to open a dispute with our bank and the BBB. read more

This review is mainly for the employees. They are all amazing and go above and beyond for the customers here. Ben, Xavier, and Edward (and in no order; they are all #1 to me!) are top tier employees. They are always more than willing to help anyone that needs it and are just plain sweet & knowledgeable in general. I always see them cleaning which is most important to me because I have a high risk family member in my household. Cleanliness = healthiness for us which means we keep coming to this gym. Theirs and the others working there have incredible work ethic, which I'm surprised about because most other gyms have extremely lazy and incompetent employees. There's truly no better gym than here because the employees make it what it is. All this place needs is another squat rack with a platform and an area for barbell hip thrusts because glute targeted exercises are on the rise! 10/10 overall! read more

I dealt with "Andrew". Gave me and my 2 sons a great deal. Not alot of bells and whistles but it has everything needed to get and stay in good shape. We moved after about 4 months and I had to cancel our contract. Andrew made this process easy. As one would expect the difficulty in cancelling any contract with a fitness company, I'll say I didn't experience the problems most associated with. If we still lived by this Gym or ever move next to another one in the future, I would not only recommend them to anyone but would be the first in line to sign up. It's a great gym with very nice staff! The only thing that makes it a little hard to enjoy is the smell(like chlorine and body odor), which makes me a little nauseated. But the sauna is fantastic and can't wait to use it once the pandemic is over :) read more
