Was in the market for a curved treadmill and Fitness Direct had Assault Runner Elites on their website. Contacted Fitness Direct via telephone and my call was answered by Mark, who I thought was one of their sales personnel. He told me they didn't do business with Assault Fitness anymore (very understandable) and told me he had a better manual treadmill sold by Cascade Health & Fitness. I was hesitant at first but I looked them up and they were a very reputable company that makes very high quality equipment. The price was definitely over my budget but Mark told me he would work with me on that and would send me a quote later that day. He gives me his direct contact as well and was truly helpful and kind throughout the whole process. I get the quote later and Mark gave me a quote that surprisingly worked for my budget, also I find out he's the president of Fitness Direct. Him going out of his way to make a sale, go above and beyond for an individual with a garage gym, and not to a commercial customer with a high dollar ticket really earned my respect. It was a no brainer for me to buy from Fitness Direct. The treadmill took about two weeks to get delivered to me once I placed the order and was unfortunately 3 days late due to some miscommunication between Fitness Direct and Cascade. Once it came in though, I was surprised on how well the treadmill was built and how much smoother it ran than the Assault treadmills I've been familiar with. It was really easy to look over the mistake that led to a delay in delivery. I'm more than happy with my experience with Fitness Direct, Mark, and my new equipment. These guys definitely give you that used car salesmen vibe. After buying over $15k worth of "Quality Commercial Gym" equipment for my garage, I had one cable snap on my cable machine while my teenage son was doing leg extensions. Reached out to Mark. No reply. Reached out 20 days later, and he tells me to reach out to Sean because he's on vacation. Called Sean, left messages, no call back. Reached out to Mark again, he said Sean is the only one that can order parts. Called Sean a few times and he's never in his office nor does he return calls. I been trying to get this fixed since April 2025. So I'm just gonna fix it myself. Just beware, they are quick to return your call when you are ready to buy, but as soon as u have issues, they are hard to get a hold of or give you the run around. They literally sell the same stuff a few other places do but like 30-40% more. I figured if I paid the extra premium I would get better service. I was wrong. In this instance, you DONT get what you pay for. I will never come back here again. Highly recommend you shop around as these guys never have the lowest price. And I'm all about supporting local business as you can order this stuff on line for literally 1/2 the price since you don't pay taxes. I needed a belt repair on my home treadmill so I reached out to this company. They responded quickly and sent out Steve the next day to look at my equipment and give me an estimate. I received an email from Lou with pricing, I approved and they ordered the belt. it arrived quickly and Steve came back out to install. He was super easy to work with and when I received my final invoice, Lou explained that he was able to get the belt for $60 less than he had quoted me, so he passed on the savings to me! I needed an old but pristine piece of athletic equipment (a chrome plated multi-station Universal Machine weighing in at over a ton) in my garage moved in order to create room for my two automobiles to fit in limited space. Lou, the customer service agent, absolutely bent over backwards to make this possible for me, and made it happen with a pleasant can-do attitude to accommodate my needs and schedule. At his direction, two very strong, skilled, smart, and experienced men, Ro and Billy, showed up exactly as scheduled and proceeded to make what I thought was going to be a near-impossible task (akin to a proverbial root-canal...) look simple and easy. Moreover, they did so with courtesy , respect, a smile, and an approach that seemed to repeatedly shout out "What more can we do to help you and make your life easier and better?" They made some suggestions (and carried them out) that I had never before (in fifty years of using the equipment) imagined available and possible so that when all was said and done, I not only had my machine ideally positioned but also way more functional for my needs. Finally, after all of this was accomplished to my satisfaction, Lou, Ro and Billy all suggested that I only be charged a very reasonable amount for this service! Best money I ever spent! I bought my Echelon Stride treadmill from Fitness Direct because I was hoping if I ever had a problem, they could help me. Well, they did. My motor burned out outside the warrant period. Customer service at Echelon was not helpful. They sent me the wrong replacement motor and then wanted me to jump through hoops to get the right one. Then they ghosted me! Steph greeted us and asked if we had any questions. We let her know we wanted to look around and then would bug her when we had questions. She helped us figure out the best setup for our home garage gym (which does not have a ton of clearance limiting our options), answered all questions, and listened to what we needed/wanted, offering helpful suggestions as we went. She pulled together a quote on the spot and was not pushy at all when we said we wanted a bit of time to think about things. We went home, re-measured, and called Steph to make a few tweaks to our order. We then placed the order and had everything in our garage a few days later. The delivery team was excellent and efficient. However, one small thing (extra set of J-hooks) wasn't able to be delivered that day where most things arrived, so someone dropped by the following day to deliver that last item. On that second delivery, I mentioned that I was hoping to move the cage slightly to the left having now worked out on the setup, and the person delivering the J-hooks did that for me on the spot. He gave me two choices for the type of machine I was looking for (leg press/hack squat unit) so I went home with his card so I could research it. Mark, I'm extremely disappointed with how you responded to me when I called you back. First of all, it took you 5 days to call me. I left a message for you Friday morning, and you called me Wednesday afternoon. The message that I left you on Friday was that the rower I had purchased in October 2021 was making a loud non stop ticking noise, like a time bomb waiting to go off and I wanted to figure out how to stop the noise until someone from your store could come out and service the machine. I left the identical message for Sean. No one bothered to call me back. I talked to 3 different sales people that said they couldn't help and directed me to either you or Sean. How would you feel if you had this loud non stop noise in your house and no one cared enough to call you back to tell you what to do? When I talked to you today, instead of addressing the issue with my machine, all you talked about was the yelp review. It was as if that was the only reason you called me. Your only concern was the yelp review, not the why I initially called. Then you were making up reasons why Sean left work by 11:30am, because he starts early. You were arguing with me the entire time. It's not my concern what time your employees go to and leave work. But, as a customer, I should be able to talk to someone during business hours to address an issue. That did not take place. Then you went ahead and called me unreasonable for expecting a call back the same day. As a customer, I should not have to argue with you. I did not yell at you until you started accusing me of being unreasonable. It obviously seems like it is too much to expect your business to be able to talk to a customer the same day if there is a problem with their equipment that is under warrantee. Stop making excuses as to why no one could call me back. Obviously my business doesn't mean enough to you. If my machine was not making constant noise then I could have waited until Monday to talk to someone. I had bought an entire gym set from you years ago and am a repeat customer, and this is how you treat me. You never bothered to address any issue other your bad yelp review. That was your only concern. Then you decided to cancel my service appointment because you were mad. This issue could have been resolved very easily if you had decided to address the issue of my broken machine when you finally called me after 5 days. I could have easily removed the yelp review. But instead you started the conversation berating me about how you can't believe I wrote a bad review since no one called me back the same day. Mark was extremely helpful, he asked a few questions to get an idea of the most ideal flooring options for my situation and use case. I ended up going with his recommendation, the Tatami interconnecting tiles as I will be doing a lot ground work/cardio and using a Tonal system for weight training. I had moved my schedule around to accommodate the time they set. Since then I've received no attempts from them to reschedule.
