So... the "new" owner called me and told me he bought the place in 2018 and my experience is from…read more2017 and he's looking to get negative reviews removed and offered me a couple of free months to check out the space and update my review. Based on that call, I would have expected a low overall rating for the club but when I logged in I see it's going well at 4 stars overall. I personally find it a little invasive that he sorted through every client named Dawn and compared the gym photos to mine here to find and call me, but, here's a note to confirm that my experiences did, in fact, occur in 2017. Also, just for everyone who might be reading this, here is what Yelp has to say about offering things in exchange for reviews or asking people to write them: https://www.yelp-support.com/article/Don-t-Ask-for-Reviews?l=en_US Offering something to make up for a poor experience is great customer service, when it's not conditional. Also note when you however over the Yelp stars it literally tells you what each rating means. 5 stars is "Great." 4 stars is "Good." Three stars is "OK." Two stars is "Could have been better" and one star is "Not good." And, my experience, up and until today, could have been better. That said, there are plenty of excellent reviews here for you to read, so, you know, check them out if you're looking for a gym and make your own decisions.

I got a great deal to workout for a week. The gym itself is clean and the weights are racked. There is plenty of equipment for every need. If you want to put your headphones on and hit the weights without being bothered, this is a good place.

TLDR: it works! Try it!…read more CrossFit saved my life. I was in the midst of a divorce and had lost 50 pounds due to stress. I worked from a desk, and was a couch potato at night that couldn't bench press my own body weight. I was on sleeping pills, anti-depressants and was not eating. Mike encouraged me to stop by and try a class. So I did! It was a small class. I think there were 3 of us, and I had brought a friend! Brian was the instructor. He had a quiet, calm voice. He asked to look at my gait, and what sports I'd played, while he probably sized up how hard he could push me. :) I remember being a little sore after class that day but I came back. And it was after one of those first week's classes that I remember driving home happy! I was staying with friends and I burst into the kitchen smiling from ear to ear as they were getting ready for the day. Endorphins! And I was hooked. I had been a member of many gyms. Mostly for less than a year. The habit never stuck. Gyms don't give personalized instruction every day, nor do the members cheer you on and congratulate you after a workout. Gyms don't have a long term plan or program. Mike does! This sh*t works. I gained the 50 lbs back. I lifted 400 lbs. I did a muscle up! My advice to you is to try it. Pay for a month. If you like it, you will wonder why you didn't go sooner. If you don't like it, you might like the people and coaches and make some friends.

When it comes to choosing, the opinion of someone you know tends to be the best way to go. I cannot say enough good things about the experience we have had with Crossfit Prototype/ Prototype Kids. The entire Team here is amazing. They are knowledgeable and careful. They know how to motivate and how to engage children of any age, and the best part, they tire out the child in a single session. The options are simple, pay for unlimited classes or go the punch card route. At the end of the day, it costs no more than most kids activities. If you haven't done it yet, check out their Facebook Page and website. Better yet, bring your child there for a class, they give the first one for free. So no harm, no foul if they find it isn't for them.
