Fitness One closed about 2 years ago. It is now some type of swim school for children!

I travel quite a bit, so the PF Black card is my friend. I've been to maybe 12-15 different…read morelocations and while this one isn't "stunning" it also isn't as bad as some I've been to. Starting at the parking lot, it is smallish, but at 6am there were still a good number of places to park. Curbside appeal, the location is clean and that carries over to the entrance to the club. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Gym has the usual equipment, a combination of cardio, weight machines, and free weights, as well as the circuit stuff. Speaking of, the club is 2 stories, so you'll find the circuit, ab and more cardio stuff upstairs. Not sure how I'd feel, if I were a woman going to this club at 2am, as the parking lot is pretty dark. They could definetly use some lights in the lot, but other than that I think the spot is great. I didn't avail myself of the black card spa, but I will check it out and update later

It's a hangout for older people who are there more to socialize, than to work out. 3) People sit on machines to "rest" in-between sets for 5-10 minutes while they text people on their phone, doom scroll, or just stare out into space waiting for their body to get done resting. There aren't enough machines to go around to have 50% being occupied by long-term tenants. However I do agree that the staff is very nice. I find it pretty clean (even though you not some people don't wipe the machines down after their use - so I wipe before and after). I like the new Black Card perks. I haven't used them yet, but plan to do so soon.

From talking to other members, this has apparently been going on for well over six months. I've called management multiple times, and every single time the answer is, "We don't know when it'll be fixed." Out of frustration, I even called the health department (turns out gyms don't fall under their jurisdiction). Then I called the code department, only to find out they had already contacted Planet Fitness. According to them, the manager's response was that "air conditioning is a privilege" and they're not required to fix it. Maybe they're right. Maybe they're not legally required to fix it. But when you're charging people every month, have buckets catching water under the one or two AC units that barely work, and there appears to be black mold growing around the broken units, it might be time to decide whether providing a safe and comfortable environment is a priority. At this point, it's hard to believe this is a temporary issue. It feels like they've simply decided not to fix it and are hoping members will just accept sweating through every workout, regardless of how hot it gets outside. I love Planet Fitness as a company, but this location has made it abundantly clear that member comfort isn't high on the priority list I would also like to add that I used the showers a week ago and left concerned I was going to get an infection or something. The shower was clogged and brown/grey water started coming up. It was absolutely disgusting

After spending the day at Disney World and ending up in a wheelchair after only a few hours, I was determined to find a way to change things. I looked for physical fitness trainers online and spoke to a few. None gave me the answers I was looking for. I reluctantly looked up physical therapy, although I didn't have a lot of confidence this was the answer. I spotted Peak Fitness. I was impressed that they had physical therapy and fitness training in the same house. After speaking to Desiree and hearing what I hoped would be the answer I was looking for, I went in to meet them and sign up. I spoke with Dave, explained what I was looking for and he was positively confident he could make a difference for me. I decided to take a chance and signed up for 3 months. Any reservations I hard were dispelled with my first training class. Dave knew exactly how get my muscles retrained to work properly, then proceeded to make them stronger. Each class improved my ability to go further and longer. The Pilates helped stretch out my muscles and increased my core strength. At the 2 month mark, I went to Kennedy Space Center and lasted 10 hours on my feet, no cane, no wheelchair, just deliciously tired. My endurance has improved so much I still can't believe it. My muscles hurt less and are so much stronger I no longer need help lifting or doing any of the many chores around the house. Having the combined knowledge of fitness and physical therapy gave me the answers my body needed to get better. I now work out at home 6 days a week and feel better than ever. There is no question that Peak Fitness will work for you. The Peak Fitness team will tailor the program for your needs and you will enjoy success!
