When I started I weighed well over 550lbs but the trainers at Fitness One told me no worries you can do it. In class I was offered several alternatives or options as they put it to exercises that I couldn't perform. One example is a burpee in which you squat and place your hands on the floor kick your feet back to a pushup position and then pull them back in and jump up. Obviously I couldn't do that so Jen carefully showed me an alternative that I could do. This is one of litterally dozens of modifications they showed me so that I can still get a good workout even if I couldn't do exactly what the class was. I have had and continue to get loads of support and encouragement from not only the staff but other members as well. Since I started I have lost more size than weight but the results are there. I can do things now that I couldn't do at all 6 months ago. Example pushups on the floor and rows on the trx straps. When I first started not even one pushup and maybe 2-3 rows at a slight incline. Now 10-15 pushups per set and 10-15 rows at a deep almost inverted incline. The program is simple to follow but you do have to work at it for it to work for you. It is not easy but nothing in life is. My wife wanted to start in January but do to finances and helath issues Allen offered a trial period. Due to her health issues she could not continue for the time being so Austin my stepson took her place for the summer and now that membership has been canceled because he has a gym class at school and doesn't need it. I had no issues with getting it cancelled at all. Allen offers meal plans to help you learn how to eat right and manage your weightloss efforts. They also are there every step of the way offering tips for workouts and other suggestions to help you reach your goals. I have found out first hand that they will help you succeed if you want to but it is ALL UP TO YOU to do the work. Fitness One is not a typical gym where you come in they throw tons of useless garbage at you to buy into all of their weightloss products and so on. Fitness One is just simply awesome! I have never been successful in sticking to any workout routine as an adult. Through the years I gained weight, had 2 back surgeries, and was slug like in the front of the TV most of the time. I have been a member of the big box gyms and even some of the smaller boutique gym's. The result was always the same. I paid my bill every month while almost never going back after the initial consultation. I felt intimidated by the machines, didn't want to look like a fool trying to figure out how to adjust the seats, etc., I hate cardio so the deck was stacked against me when it came to hanging in there with the old school hours and hours of cardio that you were suppose to do, and they always said "just ask for help, no problem" but NO one was ever around. Well, to me I have found my workout Holy Grail at Fitness One. I have been a member since Oct. 2012. Bored, repetition - those words do not exist here! I am still working towards my overall weight loss goal, but I have gained all over muscle with a huge increase in strength and energy. I haven't felt this good in decades! I find all of the trainers to be supportive, and a big Thank You! to Jenn, my personal trainer, for being my cheerleader! I no longer take any prescription medications. How great is that! (think of the money I am saving too!) I was border line hypertensive and close to having to start taking blood pressure medicine - no more! I don't feel any competition in class to be the first to finish, be smaller than the other girl, and never have had a problem with feeling leered at or come on too. Everybody here, including the members, are really nice, helpful, and cheering you on to succeed! But not for even a second should you think it isn't hard work - it is!! But so worth it! My children and I recently moved to the area from Florida. We we're looking for a facility for the kids ( both black belts) and myself ( trying to say young) could continue our training. Especially focusing on Krav Maga. I did all the leg work. I scoured the web, asked, for references, and observed classes at school to see how they taught kids. I found a lot of tae kwan do schools, some claiming to be familiar with other styles. I saw undisciplined classes and I was always met with a buy now / best deal / sign today price. I stumbled across Fitness One on the web and started and email conversation with Allen. Eventually we set an appointment to visit. He had taken the info I'd sent him about the kids past school and their likes and dislikes and was able to give us a real compelling pitch. Pitch is wrong word ,Allen doesn't hard close. I had to press on costs. The costs are significantly less for the entire family and we don't feel nickel ed and dimed on equipment or testing fees. What I see here is a quality program for my kids that focus more on functional skill and respect for others, rather than forms and drills. The adult classes are challenging, but not intimidating. Add to that the availability of fitness classes and this is a value. Basically I've spent about $4000 over 4 years in fees, testing costs, and gear at a martial arts school in FL that I'd recommend to anyone in that area for their kids. At Fitness One i feel I've found a better program that will continue to challenge my kids at far better value and a friend/coach in Allen. I've worked out with Allen and his trainers for over a year. This may sound silly but Fitness One makes me so happy! I've always worked out but have always been so bored and uninvested. I'm so enthused about my exercise class with Fitness One trainer, Tracy Green, that I drove 2 and a half hours from Asheville after a week-end there at 6:30 Monday morning in order not to miss her 10:15 class. When I say I wouldn't miss it, I wouldn't miss it! Every single class is different. What a luxury! In my other classes, I knew every part of the class and would dread the coming one! Tracy and all Fitness One trainers keep you interested; more importantly, the changes from class to class ensure that you're not plateauing with your work-out. Your muscles are always challenged, an important part of exercise that most miss because they get in a rut with the same routine and never see improvement. Not so at Fitness One! I'm sore all the time after the classes, and that's a good thing! I am somewhat limited by an arthritic knee in my exercise. Tracy is cognizant of my limitation and always gives me (and anyone else who needs it) variations on the work-outs so that I can participate fully and still get a great work-out. Last but not least, the Fitness One staff are just wonderful people, and it's a real delight to go there and be among them. This gym is like no other! I am not your typical gym person and can feel overwhelmed with all of it but here - they don't let you feel that way. I have a long way to go to reach my goals but for the first time in forever (song from Frozen playing in the background) I actually feel like I will be a success! The staff is always there offering options when I can't do something, high fives when I can and they make me want to return day after day. They push you to try new things but never embarrass you if you can't do something. Then my fellow gym buddies are just as encouraging and most don't even know my name but they know exactly the words of encouragement that I need. It's crazy how helpful a high five from a stranger who just survived a class with you can be.:-) All of the support in the world is great but the results are even greater! I'm down almost 25 lbs. since March thanks to my awesome trainer Nikki! The crazy thing is - I look forward to seeing what she has in store for me every week. I've never felt this way before about working out and I'm excited to see what's next. Getting ready to go to Fitness One to work out with Olinda for the 3rd time this week, yes 3rd. My wife Susan and I work out with Olinda 4 times a week....and love it. Today we will be looking for a muscle we didn't know we had. Why, well Tuesday after class, Olinda, Josh, Tony, Susan and I were talking and trying to find out how many muscles were in the human body because we seem to find a new one each time we work out. Well we looked it up. and the answer is: There is not a truly defined number for this question, but the approximation of muscles in a human body is said to be between 640 and 850 depending on the expert you consult. I began my Fitness One experience after purchasing a groupon and was a little intimidated the first night I walked in because "I don't do gyms". However, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and personal welcome and their training philosophies and fantastic workouts. Each staff member makes it their mission to help you reach your goals and is always motivating and upbeat. As a member, I received personal training sessions to help me get more familiarized with their systems and feel more comfortable. The classes are rocking and always fun and challenging! I love the variety of classes and workouts and the constant encouragement of the trainers. It's like a big family atmosphere without the sibling rivalry! The best part for me is not feeling like I have to figure out what kind of workout I need, because their classes are designed to be the optimal workout in a timely manner. No mindless workouts here! I've been in and out of gyms my whole life and Fitness One is, by far, the best there is. The classes are always challenging and never monotonous, no one class it the same! Everyone else in the classes make you want to keep going and give it your all...that is why you're waking up when its still dark outside to workout or staying well past dinner time, right? Even after my worst day at work, Allen and the other trainers manage to make me smile with their incredible energy and positive reinforcement. I leave every session feeling incredibly strong and accomplished. People constantly compliment me on my new figure and remark on how toned I look. I have been with Fitness One for almost 1.5 years and I love it. I got bored at my big box gym and needed something different. I needed that something extra. I got tired of the same old workouts and classes that just weren't getting it done. I found it at Fitness One. I am a full time working single Mom and told Allen I could only go to class 1-2 days a week but wanted to be ready for a mud run. That was December 2011. In April 2012, I ran my mud run and was 100% ready. In class we work on strength and cardio and the workouts are never the same. We run sprints, work with ropes, TRX, kettlebells, our own body weight, you name it. I absolutely love it and feel stronger than ever. One more thing...my kids love the childcare. I have trained in several different styles and dojos since I was 8 years old (18 years, as of this post), and I have to say that I was VERY impressed with the training I received from Fitness One Training Systems. Allen and his staff of trainers are some of the most friendly and professional individuals I have encountered over the years and the new facility is fantastic, complete with plenty of room and all the necessary equipment. Their Krav Maga class is easily my favorite of all the programs, especially since Fitness One is the only school in the area that has Israeli certified Krav Maga black belts on staff, which is evident during the class itself. I do not have kids, but have watched the kids class a couple of times while warming up, and was very impressed with it as well. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I was going to a "big box" gym and hated every single second I was in there. I was completely bored out of my mind. I even had a work out buddy and still was unmotivated. I started going to Fitness One for the Krav Maga class and saw some of the fitness classes and eventually started going to those as well. I love that EVERY SINGLE class is different. You never repeat a workout and all the trainers will help you modify a move if it is too hard for you. Since I started going there, I've noticed a change in the way my body, specifically my stomach, looks. My stomach as always been a trouble spot for me...but I can see it toning up. And the love handles are GONE! I highly recommend this place to anyone serious about getting fit and healthy! read more

As good as it gets when it comes to physical fitness. These guys are experts in motivation and helping you get over the hump of coming to the gym. They will help you put together a diet program that you can stick to. Don't worry about not being able to hang with the class, the instructors will modify any exercise to fit your ability. I have been going there for almost 4 years. I get better every time I go. That's not to say i haven't fallen off the wagon, but when i was ready they were right there to pick me up and help me get back on the path. In the last three years, we have been to three different gyms... but Fitness One is not an ordinary gym. The first class I took there, the staff immediately helped to get me ready for the most intense work out I have ever had. If you are searching for a gym where you will have it easy and the staff ignores you because they have no idea who you are... then you need to go to another gym. Allen Branch has developed an incredible workout system. Rather than a do-it-yourself gym, Fitness One class centered. There are several advantages to this. First, you get the feel of having a personal trainer giving instruction and motivation. Second, you get the teamwork feel as you are training with others. Third, the classes involve both cardio and strength training - making it a great combination. One of the things I love most about the classes is that you are doing one exercise for no more than a minute before you are moving on to something else. You never get bored. Our son is taking the youth martial arts at Fitness One. While watching him learn I have noticed they are not just teaching self defense. They are teaching the children life skills. Respect for others, concentration, attention to detail are just a few of the things that stood out to me. They make the program fun and challenging so the children look forward to learning more. I have been working out in Allen and Olinda's classes for over 5 years and have enjoyed every bit of it. I have always been impressed with there cutting edge and never ending knowledge. Allen seems to have a personal goal to help everybody that comes into his classes to be the best that they can be. I started going to his classes while my son was taking his Martial Arts classes.
