The coaches genuinely care about members and their safety/goals, and are awesome and providing individual feedback during classes. Everyone is super friendly and supportive during workouts, which is really nice because I've been to other gyms that can be intimidating for some. I was a member for about 6 months before moving, and I really do miss this place but it's just too far for me to keep going regularly. If I end up back in the Joliet area, I wouldn't think about joining any other gym. If you're thinking about checking it out, definitely do it.

Now that my daughter is home from college I asked to upgrade to the membership that allows 2 guests. They tell me my membership can't be upgraded and that the only way would be to cancel my current membership and sign up for a new one for $45/month. The catch...now I would have to pay a $188 initiation fee and another annual fee which i have already paid! Someone tell me why I canj just pay the additional $5 on my membership for the 2nd guest?!? No one is willing to explain other that my membership "can't do that." Absolutely ridiculous! Plan to cancel altogether and find a new gym!

The fellow members are inspiring, the personal trainers are AWESOME! They give great feed back and words of encouragement. There is a different type of positive energy when walking into this gym. I've been here a few times for my son's swim meets. My review is of their pool and related…read moreamenities. We've enjoyed each trip here, which is an hour away for us. The pool is large and accommodates upwards of a dozen swim teams at one time. The area gets pretty loud, and in our experience, very crowded due to the limited seating area for a larger event. They do have a small area where you can bring your own folded chair and watch, instead of the bleachers. Just know that people can and will stand in front of you at times to watch their son swim. All in all, we have enjoyed coming here. They have a small coffee/bakery in the lobby that comes in handy. Washrooms are easily accessible adjacent to the pool.

Then on Feb.17th I went to Charter Fitness to cancel, they weren't even going to give me any sort of cancellation paperwork or receipt, I had to ask for it, and they claimed I would get a refund in 5-7 business days. The next day Feb.18th $22.99 came out of my bank account. Then I went there again and asked about it, they assured me that I wasn't going to get charged any more. Then on March 18th $22.99 came out of my account. Now today April 17th another $22.99 came out of my account. I have paid a total of $107.97 since I tried to cancel. I am beyond mad about this. I never even wanted a membership with Charter as I was with Charter before Zip in the past. They stated on my cancelation policy that I wanted to cancel because of Covid when that was not my reason. I haven't worked out 1 time at Charter but they've taken $107.97 from me. Like when will this end!
