Besides the fact that it's super fun to have a pool filled only with people you know, it's even better when the lifeguards rock. The staff was so much fun. My friend's husband and I were having a very ridiculous diving board competition (more like who-could-land-the-worst competition) and the guards were all about joining in our laughter. She decided to play a little older than a lot of girls so we obviously weren't looking for a club team, we wanted a house team to see if she would enjoy the sport and then if so we could do private lessons to help get her up to speed quickly. It worked out perfectly, she's now on at the club level and really enjoying it. The bigger thing is how much my child enjoys her time at Eichs as a parent, she loves coming and going. The staff is always looking out for the kids 1st and it shows, their approach has built up her confidence as well as her skill. If your looking to get your child into this sport this is a great place to start and grow. We have played house, beach, and now club as well as the private lessons and super pleased, go check them out and see for yourself.

They will make a ton of promises and never follow through with them yet take your money. We signed up for club for $1100 and about $1800 total later, my daughter was put on a team where the coach had no real club experience and the team was created from grabbing people off of the street literally. Parents were ready to pay but the girls had no interest and very little experience. Tournaments consisted of a silent coach that gave no feedback or direction and girls goofing off on the court, standing still, or rolling their eyes when a ball came close to them. The only points my daughters Eichs team made was from the other team's errors. Eichs hides when any conflict arises and then buries you in more lies. They invested in a new VB court when their batting business tanked but the court is too low to have a solid practice on it yet the club experience is on that court while rec teams have the proper courts. The air conditioning is only on when parents are around. Think about summer practices and open gym before you drop your kids off.

Not only is Pelican Harbor indoor water park humongous and perfect for all levels of swimming, staff is incredibly friendly and prices are beyond reasonable!!! Even if you're not a Bolingbrook resident, if you sign up early enough, you can get 6-8 swimming lesson sessions for about $8 per lesson. I currently have both my children in Parkie's Starfish Swim School (ages 3-8) and each lesson is 40 minutes long. At private swim schools (Bear Paddle, Goldfish, British Swim School), lessons for that age group are 30 minutes long and almost 3 times as much per lesson! One thing to keep in mind are that many of the instructor are VERY young (probably high school-early college age). One of my kids is a newly minted 3 year old and doesn't listen very well at times (my kid just wants to play around in the water). I think the teacher had a hard time instructing in the beginning, but she doesn't give up and spoke to me about methods to "speed up" the progression as well as boundaries I may have. I appreciated that because I can only imagine how hard it is to teach young children who would rather play than learn. Parkie's Starfish Swim School has several levels starting from White (never having a swim lesson before) and ending in Green (able to swim on side, can freestyle 30 feet with rhythmic breathing). Levels Red-Yellow-Blue are in between. After mastering green, they can move to Parkie's Starfish Stroke School, perfecting all the strokes with longer distances as well as flips and open turns. They also have Parkie's Babies Swim Lesson for babies (ages 3-36 months). Overall I highly recommend Bolingbrook Park District for swim lessons. It's extremely affordable, the indoor swimming facility is very impressive and staff is so nice. I love that I can bring my kids here year-round instead of just summers. I know I'll continue bringing my kids here for years to come!

I have been doing this since last year, then one of the personnel walked up to me last month after their class whiles practicing and asked if I was a member which I answered no. She then said, you can stay if you are a member but if not then get out". I got my kids ready after we were done then asked her what was their policy for after class, she said, you are able to stay till 15 minutes after the swimming class. I called the manager of the place and reported this incidence. Will I take my kids back there? NO!!! Staff should have the respect for people who patronize them and not disrespect them.The staff should have explained their policy because this same staff if there every day I take my kids to this place. She was out right rude and disrespectful! They just lost two customers.

The stair rail needs some reinforcement and there is a leak in the women's bathroom that seems to have someone checking into. As for the Lifeguards, they do a good job which was evident on Friday night when their job was put to the test and a child's life was saved shortly after we left for the evening. For those who say, Guards are a waste of money, I for one as a parent, grandparent and former swim team member appreciate their service. We can't always have our eyes everywhere when it comes to our kids, of any age! There are still adults out there that don't know how to swim and some of then have children. It only takes a tablespoon of water to drown, a wrong move in a game of catch or whatever to lose your balance and be the victim. Lifeguards are money well spent!
