3 stars only.... Made a 3 star because of the good services that they can give you, but regarding explanation of the contract in adding a personal trainor? Nope! not even a 2 star! They told me to try the Personal training program. I asked if I can stop anytime, then they replied YES! after around 2 months I tried to stop it, they just told me only the manager can do that. When I spoke with the manager.... He said NO! Its in the contract that you signed!!! (A LONG WITH SMALL LETTERS CONTRACT!) and that it's not their obligation to tell us what's everything on it! OMG!!! Yes, not everything, BUT they should have specified the highlights of the contract before letting us sign because customers usually rely on what they say and sign! THEY SHOULD have told me NO you can't stop once you started it UNLESS you move 25 miles away, You're Dead, or You're disabled! So, that's the catch! Now I know what they mean with the YES You can stop anytime .... "anytime IF you have 1 of those 3 choices!" Now, I'm forced to pay the personal training program which is almost $200/month whether I use it or not! Tsk!!! LESSON: Next time you guys READ before SIGNING!!! don't rely on what they say! I'm not mad with the staff because they are friendly, but I'm upset at this time! Very upset with the policy! I see why the ratings are so low! I visited the gym as a walk-in because it was close to my home and offered morning classes that I was interested in. I wasn't offered the free trial at the time of the visit. I saw that there was a free 14-day trial so I signed up for it online. I received a call from a rep and explained that I wanted to try it out before I commented to pay the 100 bucks to join and 25 bucks bi-weekly I was told well you visited a few weeks ago so that's only for first-time visits and mind you that I wasn't told at the time of the visit I could do a trail. Nevertheless, I wouldn't join this gym nor advise anyone else to with the experience I had when other gyms don't charge as much as THEY DO! read more

Sabrina at the front desk seemed completely incompetent. I called ahead to ask if I could bring a guest with me since I have a membership, and she confirmed that I could. So, I drove all the way there with my guest, ready to attend a class. However, when I arrived, her boss informed me that my membership doesn't allow a guest. I explained that Sabrina had told me otherwise, but in front of her boss, she denied it and claimed that she had told me I couldn't bring a guest. She continued to lie, trying to make herself look better. The situation became so frustrating that I had to leave the gym altogether. Also last week I tried to attend body pump and I was 5 minutes late and got told I could not attend the class because I was late. Meanwhile I have seen multiple people on multiple occasions show up late and still be allowed in. I understand there is a rule, but I am confused why it only applies to some people. read more

Very scumbag business behavior from this gym!! After an incident at the kids club an employee told me I wouldn't be allowed to bring my child back. All good, I understand there's policies in place- but why are they still charging me for using that amenity that I was explicitly told I couldn't use?!? Then -my husband and I moved out of state 2 months ago. He went in to cancel our memberships in person, manager wasn't there and he was told to go online to cancel. Neither of us were able to log in to cancel online. Called several times over the last two months asking to please cancel and we are always told "the manager isn't here but we'll have him call you back". Never got a call back. I've written on their "contact us" page with no response. I've called other branches trying to get help. I stopped paying because they will not continue taking money from me and now I'm getting collections threats while my husband is still being charged, sometimes twice in one month with no explanation. Talk about a gym that will rip you off completely ! back in jan 2020 i signed up , covid hit a couple months after you werent able to get in there since its a really small gym already and after capacity regulation it was stressful so i called to cancel since i wasnt able to go . of course i had to pay a cancelation fee at the time money was super tight so they instead put me on a monthly plan where i was paying less until my year was over with them so i said okay great . Next thing i know my bank statement show that they kept charging me after because they have an "open " plan that basically after your year is up they automatically renew and you have to pay to cancel if you wish to ... not only were they charging me more than before which is ridiculous but here i am paying so they can finally cancel it after a whole year of them taking my money .... read more

transferred over to this gym from my original Golds gym that had been shut down for about 6 months. I had called multiple GG's to cancel my membership only to be told that "project fitness" is a off shoot of a Golds Gym. They aren't official and therefore a GG cannot cancel my membership. I have to go through them. I paid them for 6 months without ever visiting their establishment and called to cancel my membership. I had my bank block their withdrawals so that I can get project fitness to contact me directly because at this point. I was being told to call and email so many different people. They contact me only to be told, there is a pending charge and there's a 30 day wait list to cancel memberships. This establishment is a joke, they've gathered almost $200 of payments up until this point. Where I have never even visited or cared to go to. DONT DO BUSINESS HERE. AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

This is a nice gym, with a good atmosphere but some of the waits and machines need to be updated because they're in bad shape, the plastic on the dumbbells are coming off, some the benches have tears, the staff are very nice and friendly, all in all it's a good gym to get a good workout. read more

There's something awesome about pushing your physical and mental limits in functional movements that help you in the real world and there's a lot to be said about a community that is so fired up about what they do that they share their workout to encourage others to take on new forms of training. I also love getting a pump and doing workouts that promote hypertrophy, or muscle building. I see no reason to separate the two. read more

This is the worst Golds I've ever been to. I'll start with the two good aspects: newish equipment that is never "out of order" like other gyms & and its open 24 hours a day during the week. However, from the moment I initiated my membership, I started experiencing negativity. First off, the trainers hold your key tag ransom until you undergo an assessment with them that concludes with their pushy sales tactics trying to convince you to sign up for personal training sessions. I actually got out of my assessment as I was on-call and had to rush back to the hospital i work at right before I was scheduled to meet with the trainer. I told him I had to go and he kept stopping me and finally, I got irritated and I told him I wasn't interested in the assessment and wanted my key tag so I could come in next time without any trouble. He immediately started behaving like a jerk when he didn't get what he wanted. My next big complaint is that there are about 20 television screens you can see from any given location inside the gym and only one ever works. The photo I've attached shows 6 TVs with only one tiny one in the background actually working. Honestly, it's a huge embarrassment and shouldn't even be labeled a Golds Gym. I asked about it in person and the guy at the front desk would not own up to it because I was not a "local" But I am. Newly renovated gym (ex Golds Gym). Very spacey and clean interior. They do a great job maintaining safety standards for COVID. We feel safe to come in here regularly and working out. Good value for the amenities and great staff. They offer a kids group workout program twice a week with a personal trainer at no additional charge. They also have free child care Monday-Saturday. I think the hours of child care are 8-12 4-8 mon-fri and 8-12pm on sat but call to confirm. My 10 year old sometimes work out but prefers to go to the child care. I like the included classes like body combat which is an intense kickboxing class and I also like body pump which features a lot of barbell reps. Both classes are 1hr long but you can catch a few "express" 30 min versions on the schedule too. There are plenty of cardio machines with many available even during peak times. They also have a women's only workout area with cardio and nautilus equipment which I've used a few times. Overall, the place is huge and has a lot to offer for the average person who wants to get a good workout close to home, and I'm glad they recently added some late 7:30pm classes to the schedule!!!! read more

I was very weary of returning to the gym with all of the COVID-19 issues taking place, but I decided to give it a chance and start back coming in August. I can honestly say my experience has been amazing so far. The procedures put in place with sanitation makes me feel better on top of the supportive and encouraging staff. Group fitness is my main thing to do; the instructors are so great and assist you along your fitness journey...no matter what phase you are in. I'll leave the one star for the staff, who are always pretty pleasant just as they were when the gym was Gold's Gym. I've decided to cancel my membership. The machines are almost always out of order, the weights are falling apart, the machines are not a good brand, the new management is keeping the raggedy mats behind the counter to check out but no other fitness project is doing this, we still don't have 24 hour days during the week as we did with Gold's, there's no sauna, and there's no corporate office to contact. Don't let them trick you. I just became a member of this gym yesterday and I already hate it so much. First, the lady that signed me up lied every step of the process. I've worked at a gym before so I know a lot about the processes, but this worker was just dishonest. First she told me that I had two choices $180 down and $20 a month or $30 a month with nothing down . I specifically asked her "so I only have to pay 30 today" and she said yes. Later I give her my card and she says that will be $89. I guess that's how they trick you into signing up. My biggest problem is that the first day I asked her to send me my contract and she said she did. She didn't . I called to speak with a manager and she refused. I asked for my contract and she said sent it but she didn't.... THEN SHE SAYS SHE DOESN'T HAVE ACCESS TO THE CONTRACT. So she had been lying to get me off my phone. read more

For all current and future members: Beware. This is a long post but well worth it. Let's start off with the pros: Jerrod is probably one of the best personal trainers at the gym. He will make you grind, make you work, and ensure that you see results. He, honestly, should be the personal training manager because he does it right. The team who runs the childcare services are amazing. They treated my kids like their own and it was never a struggle to drop them off. If anything, it was a struggle to pick them up because of the fun they were having. Now the cons: First off, get ready for a fight to cancel your membership and your personal training. It is an archaic system, dictated by a general manager and owner who only care about taking your money. Donald, who is the current general manager, is as unprofessional as it gets. What they won't tell you at the gym is that you have to cancel on site, then go and call ABC Financial, and follow-up with the gym to make sure that Donald actually did his job. If you have personal training, it is worse. You have to put a 30 day notice in, talk to Donald, fill out the paperwork, pray he turns it in, call Paramount Financial that you are cancelling, follow-up with Donald to again, make sure he did his job, and pray that everything is taken care of. If you do not stay on top, you will be charged 2 or 3 months MORE of training. You can't cancel your membership until your personal training runs out. Therefore, if you don't time it right, you are stuck. This will handcuff you. Trust me, I know. The gym had committed FRAUD because my membership has long been cancelled and yet they charged 2 months of personal training AFTER my gym cancellation. The gym equipment is always broken. You are lucky if 1 of the 4 stair steppers are working. Treadmills are torn up and broken. Weights are torn apart. The weight equipment and machines are typically down or questionable when in use. Free weights are like a scavenger hunt in the gym. Oh, and you may get staph in the locker room. Employee turnaround is laughable. Good luck remembering everyone's names as it's a new team every month. Front desk staff, constantly leaving. Personal trainers, constantly leaving. Those under Donald, always leaving. Wonder why? Management is a joke. All you have is Donald. A man who is dishonest, combative, and probably the worst fit to be a GM in the first place. When you go by the office, you will find him typically cruising the internet. When you bring up your contract, he will puff up his chest, tell you how he built the gym from bottom up, and tell you to read the contract. When you explain your reasoning, he will interrupt you, get confrontational, and ignore you. Sheldon should be the GM of the site. He actually understands customer service. Gold's gym is also cheap (probably because the owner is capitalizing on his profits instead of investing it into the gym). The TV's are typically a black screen because they cant afford actual programming. Good luck watching any sports program. What you will get is the News and Food Network. The gym equipment that is broken will take the entire membership to fix. The biggest issue of all. Ownership and the GM will not take responsibility of the parking lot. Go in and ask them about the amount of car break-ins they have. What will be even more shocking is to ask them not how many in a year but just in the last month. Glass is littered throughout the parking lot. There is your sign. Overall, if you decide that this is the gym for you. Good luck. Sign your membership and cancel right then and there. That way, Donald has at least a year to do his job properly. read more
