This proved to be a challenge as the Precor made so much noise literally 'out of the box' that i contacted Brian who cheerfully worked with me to replace the elliptical. A long story short, after taking delivery of 3 'out of the box' replacement Precor ellipticals (each unacceptable due poor 'out of the box' mechanical performance and operational noise), Brian assisted me with purchasing a Matrix elliptical and now - I am DELIGHTED with my device performance. Throughout this frustrating process, Brian and Chip graciously and without request, dedicated their time and efforts to ensure that I was 100% happy and satisfied with my purchase. In so doing, these gentlemen personified and actuated unbelievably impressive qualities of professionalism, expertise, and prioritisation and valuation of their customer. Without going into too many details, I discovered the hard way that the majority of the brands you will find in Dick's, Scheel's and Costo are owned by one large privately held company. And that company stinks. They sell products that are notorious (if you know where to look for their reviews) for their defects and poor quality. And their service and business practices are unscrupulous at best. Think about it. You buy a treadmill online and have it delivered. You may even buy the extended "warranty," thinking you'll have peace of mind. But after you spend a day assembling it and discover too late that it's a peace of junk, your nightmare is just beginning. Not only do you have this non-functional albatross occupying space in your spare room, you have no easy way to get rid of it. And getting it fixed becomes a nightmare when you find out that a) parts are not available, and b) there are no local technicians who are going to come out and resurrect your machine to make it work again (assuming it ever worked at all). My fiancé came to the conclusion that there are only two options that make sense when it comes to fitness equipment. A) either go to a gym or rec center that has good quality machines set up an ready to go, and will be responsible for maintaining them, or B) buy from a local brick and mortar retail store that sells quality products and stands behind them with locally provided maintenance and warranty service. We didn't have to look far. To our delight, we found Colorado Home Fitness just 10 minutes from home, and Brian there really knows his his products inside and out. They offer delivery and installation service at a more than reasonable price, and the quality of the products they sell is head and shoulders above the brands you'll find in a big box store (ProForm, NordicTrak, Gold's, etc.). Avoid them at all costs! They only get away with selling poor quality because MOST PEOPLE don't actually use the exercise equipment they buy, long term. For a bit more money (not that much, in fact), you can get a much better line of products that will make your workout experience much more enjoyable, and make you WANT to keep using it. Be smart with your money. Shop at this store, or go to a gym. DON'T buy crap, and then give up on working out!

I walked in with my 5 year old who is signed up for his first recreation center inline hockey experience and of course the rec center said we needed to have him decked out in all hockey padding gear but didn't give me a list of what was needed. The two staff members working there, Tama and Blake, only needed to hear my plea of help and they jumped in and cheerfully helped us. My 5 year old was so excited to be getting fitted for everything and I was so grateful that I had people helping him not only in a friendly/excited manner but in a very knowledgeable manner as well. If left to my own devices, I know I would have gotten the wrong things and what I did get would have not fit correctly. We walked out of the store in a pretty fast manner with all of our gear from Helmet to hockey stick and everything in between (except the skates we already had) and though I wasn't happy about the price tag (not because of the store's prices but because it is a 5 year old :)) I was very happy about the money and time saved!! I was also very impressed at how both Tama and Blake took extra care in finding items that worked/fit. As you probably know a 5 year old was not the easiest to fit and I was impressed by their thoughtfulness of how to make the helmet that fit in all aspects but one - end up fitting. My husband (the sports lead in our family but person who also had to work so I had to take the kiddo) was also very impressed by the gear, how it fit and the cost savings! Many thanks to Tama and Blake for their friendly smiles and helpfulness and many thanks to the new ownership as well. When I emailed Hillary Mantelli, the new owner, to tell her how great her staff was, she rapidly responded with a thanks of her own back to me and also let me know that she shared my email with Blake and Tama personally and also posted it up in their cash wrap area for all of the staff to see! Never in a million years did I think I would be able to have something delivered and set up for me in my home. Then I made the wise decision to call Fitness Gallery. I spoke with a very kind and exceedingly helpful young man named Ryan. Trust me. He went above and beyond to help me and I put him through the wringer with a ton of questions, hesitations, and more questions. Even if I sent him an email on a weekend, he responded quickly. His knowledge of their products and patience were unlike any I have seen in a very, very long time. In fact, I would go so far as to say he restored my faith in customer service and attentiveness. Then, today, two young men pulled up in my driveway after a drive of nearly 5 hours. In around 30 minutes, they had my treadmill set up and ready to use. They were courteous and hard-working. This may sound silly to some, but I even noticed how straight they installed the floor mat and the treadmill in my office. I'm very much a person that likes to have things neat and orderly and I could not have done it better myself. So today, I have the privilege and the pleasure of reading my owners manual and finally having a treadmill in my home with which to improve my health and well-being. No more dreading the gym because of how many people will be judging me for my size and lack of physical fitness. No more embarrassment. I can focus on what matters most. My health. It was a flat bench with an upper and lower pulley ~~ pretty simple. These units are sold with a "lifetime warranty," which is a main reason to buy one. About four years ago I had a pulley cable break. I tried calling and e-mailing Tuff Stuff, which is headquartered in Chino, CA. No answer either way. Fitness Gallery was sympathetic but it was a "manufacturer's issue." I bit the bullet and had Fitness Gallery repair it. This cost me around $150. Last month the cable started fraying again. FG sent out another repair guy to replace the cable. This time it was $318. So I'm into this for around $500 ~~ just for cable repairs. Keep this cost in mind when you are looking at buying any Tuff Stuff equipment from Fitness Gallery. The "lifetime warranty" isn't lifetime, and the Tuff Stuff isn't tuff. Buyer beware. * The max load I put on these cables is 180 lbs for back rows.
