Fitness Town ( just south of white Ave) today. Went in to buy a weight stand. I ask the guy how much they are. He says $250. Then follows it up with " we don't have any in stock at the moment". At this time I look down at the (8) yes eight of them in a semi circle around the counter with caution tape tied to them. I say; "well you have (8) of them right here". His response. "Those aren't for sale, those are being used as our covid barrier." If you're a small, local business and you don't want to sell things then I hope to hell your business folds sooner than later, and I'll have zero issues spreading the joy to help you fold faster. read more

Fitness town is a great find in the Strathcona neighborhood, for fitness equipment. They mostly sell massage balls, dumbbells, exercise machines, treadmills etc. Of course, it's not the kind of store you'd come to often, but I really like that the customer service here is genuine. Given my ailing right knee, I wandered in looking for a BOSU (blue half sphere balls that are usually in gyms?) the other day and the staff helped me with all the options there were. There were some cheaper brand items and so it seemed tempting for me to go for one of the cheaper ones, especially since it was for home use. The guy recommended me buying the expensive one ($135) since it is kinda crucial for my knee to get fixed and to help me with my expenses he gave me an exercise ball for free. I was planning to buy both these items. Granted that the exercise ball was a cheaper brand, but since I'd be standing and doing all sorts of weird things on the BOSU, it seemed totally worth it! I got a great deal for two items and am thankful for their personalized service, discussions and help that they could provide. Do wander in if you're looking for stuff. They have some really cool weights sets out here. I'd definitely come here again if I were looking for exercise equipment. read more

I wandered into this place a few weeks ago, looking for a massage ball, one that you can roll around on to work out the kinks in hard-to-reach places. I found this little rubber ball of heaven, and so much more. Fitness Town is part of a chain, but there's only one in Edmonton. It's a giant no-frills space filled with anything and everything to do with fitness. From steppers, ellipticals and home gyms to rowers, tread climbers and arc trainers, they've got all the big stuff a fitness business needs to get off and running, and everything for the individual to support their fitness and health goals. There's smaller stuff to: wobble boards, yoga and pilates supplies, skipping ropes, boxing equipment books, health supplements and more. The staff is very helpful and seems to live and breathe fitness and health. They also offer personal training services and an online patented meal planning program. I won't hesitate to go back for exercise equipment and advice in the future. read more

We came here looking for a weight vest... Not for me, I was just along for the ride. We walked in and just started browsing - it's a big space. Almost immediately we were asked if we were looking for something in particular. I think I was expecting the lady to not know what a weight vest was, but not only did she know she seemed incredibly well-versed in the different models. She told us how research had shown that weight vests improve your bone density and that they were especially recommended for women - even just to wear around while not working out. It was an excellent experience, and I now I almost want a weight vest too! read more

I had went to the Edmonton location and purchased the AFG 5 treadmill for over $2000. The sales rep told me that the treadmill would be delivered Tuesday-Wednesday of next week (I had purchased it on a Thursday). That was 2 MONTHS AGO. That's right. Two months later I have not received my treadmill. Every time I call the store (which has been about 7 times now) I get the same story- the treadmill is on the truck- we should be able to deliver it early next week. The sales rep on the phone isn't particularly polite nor accommodating. I have yet to receive an "I am sorry for the delay." So I am out over $2000 (which I could be collecting interest on...) with no excuses from them. I would NEVER EVER purchase anything from them again. If you want your product in a timely fashion what so ever- DO NOT PURCHASE IT FROM FITNESS TOWN. read more

Fitness Town is the best place in Edmonton for fitness equipment. The staff is friendly and well versed in the equipment they carry. They truly want you to have the correct piece of equipment for your needs. They do not try to push the most expensive item if it is not right for you. read more

This is my experience with Fitness Town after ordering what seems to be a slightly obscure item. I walked in and asked them if they had inventory on a piece of workout equipment I was really interested in. The guys working at the counter that day did not seem super interested in selling the product to me (perhaps the ultimate no-pressure sales technique?) but were also very patient and helpful with all of my questions regarding their pre-order system and how long it would take to get my item. It was a little bit of a leap for me to pay over $1000 for something I wouldn't see for who knows how long, but I decided to trust the process and I did receive my item. It took about six weeks for it to arrive, and during the waiting time I called once for an update and the gentleman on the phone knew exactly what I was asking about and gave a very accurate estimate of how much longer I'd have to wait. When it arrived, I opted for the delivery/set-up service they offer because the box wouldn't fit in my car. The service man was very nice and professional. He set up the equipment and addressed my concerns very well. Overall I'm happy with this experience. I have a hard time giving five stars just because it took so darn long to get the item and there wasn't a lot of effort made to help me make sure I'd made the right choice (I did, the piece of equipment is great, but I had my doubts while I was waiting for it).
