I had shoulder surgery and did PT twice weekly for four months, and from the initial assessment until the final session my experience with Christi was great. They have all the equipment you could need and a clean well-kept space. Customer service was great in helping with scheduling, as well. I have been going to Fitzgerald's Woburn Office for 3 months. Diagnosed with Rotator Cuff Tendonitis and was assigned to Dr. Josh Weitz. He was/is extremely professional, attentive, knowledgeable, punctual, interesting and even funny. He took care to ensure my exercises and massages were kept to minimal amounts of discomfort. He would take the time to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. That helped me a lot to understand what was going on with my shoulder. I credit him 100% with my being pain free today. Even though PT took quite a bit of time from my routine life, I enjoyed going for my 2x/week appts. The office is very clean, well equipped, and hygiene is important. Jill did a fantastic job getting me through a knee injury. She built me up, first stabalizing the injury and then gradually rebuilding the knee muscles. Before the injury I was able to walk 8 miles at a time and due to the injury I had pain all the time, unable to hike at all. After a few months of PT with Jill I was able to eliminate the pain walking around home or the office, and then gradually build up to hiking again. Now I am able to do my favorite 8 mile walk again without a brace and without pain. I never thought I'd be able to do that again. Had an odd experience with pt Tyler recently and cannot recommend him, but I've been a returning patient to Fitzgerald pre and post hip surgeries and other than this had great experiences. The team was helpful in switching me to a different pt. I recommend asking who the best pt is for you to see based on your injury. I'm still having more pain than I came in with initially, but I'm hoping it can be reversed. I had a pt session with Tyler after developing pain in my left hip (I had my hip surgeries 2 years ago -- bilateral PAO and laberal tear tears and have been doing great since up until recently with the left hip). I left the session with knee pain AND that night developed hip pain on the other side and back pain. During the session, I told him my knee had started to hurt and asked if we could do something about it. He then started jabbing his fingers directly into the area I was feeling pain, asking if it hurt. We did not do any stretching, massage, or mobilization before jumping right into the exercises, and everything hurt. Typically, during your 1st appointment at Fitzgerald (at least in my experience) they will take you into a private room and do the measurements in addition to some stretching/massaging etc. This was not the case and we went straight to a table. To make things worse he kept forgetting which hip I was seeing him for and it seemed like he was very unsure of what to do next with me throughout the whole session. I'm devastated by the fact that I am now in more pain and developing pain in my right hip, back and knee. Old post: John was my PT after my PAO and labral tear hip/orthopedic surgery. I'm largely recovered and regained my strength due to working with him. He pushed me to get stronger in a controlled way with strength training. I never felt like I was doing the same PT over and over again each session (which I really appreciated), and I felt like I was constantly improving. John has had hip surgery himself, so he can relate what you're going through if you've had orthopedic surgery. Before I came to John I wasn't doing great and thought I needed more surgery but very safe to say that I was wrong and strength training and mobilization made the hugest difference. Fitzgerald PT is always super clean and a great environment to work on your recovery. Everyone is super nice, and reception can keep your card on file so payment is easy. Is not the best physical therapy. They really don't have too much technology. They just use their hands and some essential instruments. The worst thing is that they charge you if you cancel and that is just pathetic since they keep calling and calling for you to pay as if they had not gotten enough off you from the therapy. They don't know how to make business. They don't invite you to come back, but clearly they don't care. read more

First class location, equipment and amenities. The staff is knowledgeable and works with each patient to help overcome their specific challenges. For me, it was recovery after a major knee surgery. Holly and the team developed a specific plan to help me reach my post opp goals (run the Boston Marathon). Their approach was atomic in nature, small changes over time helped keep me on schedule while not re-injuring myself. Baby steps to strengthen the leg, lead to alter G reduced gravity running to full on street runs and finally the marathon. This was not a "lets get him to 70% and shuffle him out the door task", this took dedication, deep thought on how to meet my needs and constant tweaking. After double knee surgery, my in-home physical therapist said she knew the best place in the area for PT, and she was correct! Fitzgerald Physical Therapy is fantastic! Dr. John Thompson is friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging, and astute. He knows when to push me and when to insist I rest. The exercises are varied, and he explains what muscle groups are working, what my form should be, and how I can replicate the activities at home without all of their equipment. The other therapists are friendly and knowledgeable, parking is easy, the space is pleasant, and their clients are friendly and supportive. I also worked with Dr. Sarah Marchionne. She was great and I appreciated her inclusion of yoga awareness into the sessions. Paris, the office manager, is one of the most efficient and personable I have ever met. I wish we all could experience a review by Fitzgerald PT clinicians every five years during our lives so that we did not have to wait so long to have this transformational physical improvement! read more

I have worked with CJ since January and my experience with her and everyone at this location has been great. The location and facility is top notch. It was easy to schedule appointments, resolve billing issues, and work on my tendinitis in my elbow. I have seen two other physical therapists (DPT) in the past and I would highly recommend CJ for several reasons. First, she really cares about you as a patient and in improving your condition. There is a good balance struck between getting you seen enough to address your issues and not kicking you out before you are ready. CJ is genuinely excited to see you make progress and gives you exercises to work on at home with instructions on form, intensity, and frequency using what you already have. She never made me feel uncomfortable and stays current with the industry by continuing her education and training. Even though I have a fear of needles, her recommendation on dry needling helped me immensely with pain reduction and recovery. It's refreshing to work with someone that listens and does everything they can to help you get better. read more

I have been attending Fitzgerald Physical therapy. The office is extremely immaculate. You are greeted at the door with a warm smile. There is never a wait to be seen by your physical therapist. They are very knowledgeable, caring, skillful, empathetic, and work very closely with you to meet your goals. If you walk into Fitzgerald Physical therapy feeling weak, you will walk out feeling strengthened both physically and mentally. The atmosphere is patient orientated, and goals are set, and with the great vast of knowledge from the physical therapists, you end up leaving feeling so positive and hopeful. Being in any kind of pain is no fun for anyone. However at Fitzgerald Physical Therapy as many patients as they have, they make you feel like your the only one. I would like to give a special thanks to Garrett. He is a physical therapist at Fitzgerald Physical therapy and because of his guidance, knowledge and support, after lengthy recovery from knee surgeries, I now am much stronger, confident and hopeful. 2 years ago I had a tough ankle surgery. I had a cyst in the bone of my tibia causing stress fractures up my leg with serious pain and a high risk of a break. At 25 I needed a metal plate with 7 screws on the inside of my left ankle. Through a referral, I started seeing Dr. Ilya Gluskin for my Physical Therapy. I was in horrible pain and in a bad place because at 25 I was nervous of being able to do all the sports activities I wanted to. I was shocked at how professional Ilya was while seriously taking an interest in my well being and quality of life. Ilya will stop at nothing to make sure you get back to peak physical performance. I went 2-3 times a week for over 3 months. I was always the only one Ilya was treating at a time and he pays no regard to the appointment times. He would regularly let me stay longer and push through exercises and stretches. He always would try new tactics to ensure I was getting the fastest and best results, whether it be acupuncture, ultrasound, E Stim, or simple sports taping. I would not be running, playing lacrosse, and snowboarding to this day without the unbelievable care and devotion that Ilya displayed. I have never had a physical therapist go to this length to ensure I had the greatest quality of life. read more
