Free frites with the steak. Tasty
    Glenn C.

From Baxtrom, the same chef as the now-closed and revered Olmstead, this is an interesting spot right next to the Rockefeller rink, serving American comfort food with some modern twists. I was here with a group a good while ago that came partly because they liked his previous places, and the food was a mixed bag, with some dishes excellent and others alright. Similar to the excellent Naro next door, the food is also in an odd price range, being a bit too expensive for the quality, but worth it for certain dishes, though the latter is definitely better. As we only shared a bunch of mains, I'll go over our easy favorite first, the Japanese BBQ Ribs for $34, with Japanese BBQ sauce, napa cabbage coleslaw, and pickled ginger. This was a very fun spin, mixing typical baby back ribs with tonkatsu, a fried pork dish. The meaty ribs had a wonderfully crunchy, crispy exterior, presumably from panko, while the inside meat was soft and lightly smoky. The coleslaw was a bit too lightly flavored for my liking, but it helped with the richness, along with the myoga, or pickled ginger. Rounding it out was the tonkatsu sauce, a sour-sweet sauce with a strong Worcestershire flavor, commonly served with various katsu/fried meats. Also tasty but different from what was expected was the NY Strip Steak Frites for $44, served with crispy potatoes, petite salad, cranberry, and chimichurri. The menu, back then and now, lists that exact description, but I believe the only steak available was larger, sans frites. I prefer a more garlicky chimichurri, but the steak was cooked very well, and the salad paired well with it. The waiter also brought out some fries, which we appreciated very much. They were also good quality, being crispy and slightly salty. While we loved or liked those two dishes, the other two weren't nearly as good. Better of the two, but almost by default, was the Norwegian Salmon Stir Fry for $36, with Union Square Market vegetables, Anson Mills Carolina Gold rice, and chili crisp. Despite all the listed ingredients, the fish was unfortunately a bit dry and bland. I liked the rice's texture and the vegetables' mild sweetness, but it felt more like a plate from Dig or another healthy place. Our least favorite dish was something that doesn't appear to be on the menu anymore. This was the $32 Marry Me Chicken Fettuccine with oregano-roasted chicken and white wine cream. The pasta was overcooked and a bit gummy, the chicken wasn't particularly moist, and it felt in general like a pasta dish made by any Italian spot, or rather, a substandard one. This has since been replaced by a Chicken Parm Fettuccine, which I hope is better, as this was terrible. This restaurant was the definition of a mixed bag. At the price point, I wish it were a bit more consistent. We loved one dish, liked another, found one bland but acceptable, and the last just wasn't good. For the haphazard quality, a 3 is accurate.

Service was excellent. Note: Reserved a table through our Top of The Rock tickets but never received our reservation email, so I made a reservation through their website to be safe. Apparently they were already closed when we got there for the time we booked our reservation, but the host waited for us and greeted us very friendly! I believe her name was Chanel. She is absolutely wonderful. The minimal decorations were cute too. The food was ok. We ordered the caesar salad wraps from the prix-fixe menu, but I think if we had ordered something else it would have been a better experience. Their wraps had extremely tough croutons and very (seemingly) old tough chicken as well. We were disappointed in the quality of the food. We did get a complimentary birthday treat + birthday song so that was a big plus. The drinks were good. Overall, I would give this place another try but my first impression food wise is very low. Rating is 7/10. Luckily service was excellent, and since we were there for my mom's birthday I was a bit embarrassed. Their service does however make me feel like giving this place another shot.

We were looking for a sit down meal and 5Acres didn't disappoint. We got a table for three within 5 mins on a weekday at 1 pm. The service was good. I had a Signature Burger that was made just as I requested. The fries were crispy and ok. My daughter had hot chocolate and loved it! She needed an ice cube because it came piping hot. Overall, 5Acres was good.

Out of all the dining experiences at the larger than life Rockefeller Plaza (New York, NY), the one place that came to mind on our radar was none other than "5Acres". This was a last minute idea as we wanted to get a filling meal before our Broadway show. My lady and I came here during the early evening on Thursday 10/9/2025 at around 6:00pm. Their menu is primarily American food; appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, & desserts as well as an impressive drink menu that offers beer, wine, cocktails, and much more. Since their opening in late-2022, they have received predominantly positive fanfare from customers. Hours are also reasonable as they are open for business 7 days a week from 11:00am-8:00pm. Reservations are recommended but not required. Upon our arrival, we walked to the main entrance and were seated immediately (without reservations). The interior dining area is cozy and spacious with ample seating throughout. I also wanted to add that they've utilized a ton of plants through to give this place an "outdoors" feel to it; no matter if its cold and snowy on the more freezing New York winter days. The tables also showcase an upscale wood trim which provides longevity and durability for many years. The hostess/servers/staff also were very professional with good work ethics. As for our meals, I went with their "5A Burger"; this consisted of caramelized onions, their signature 5A sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes on a sesame seed bun while opting for a side of fries. My lady ordered their "Chopped" salad. This loaded salad had a mix of everything in it; shredded romaine lettuce, crispy bacon, warm rotisserie chicken, cabbage, scallions, red onions, tomatoes, Ditalini pasta, blue cheese, olives, and a drizzle of Italian dressing. We received our entrées at the same time in just under 10 minutes. I will say that both our meals were fantastic. My burger was cooked to perfection as the meat was juicy and at well over 1/2lb., it definitely kept me full well into the evening. I also sampled some of her salad and this too was a home run with generous amounts of chicken in every savory bite. I also wanted to point out that our server was polite, respectful, and made sure that our iced waters were topped off. I've read some fairly horrendous reviews and did not experience mediocre service or food, at least from our visit. When you factor in the ambiance, fairly decent prices (this is in the heart of NYC after all), above average service, and delicious American food, I am giving "5Acres" a perfect five-star rating.

While waiting for our reservation time at Top of the Rock, we stopped in for drinks at this restaurant inside the Rockefeller building. The space is open and lively, with a great view of people walking by--including, on this night, SNL cast members Marcelo Hernandez and Colin Jost. Service was attentive, with water glasses refilled promptly. We didn't order food, just drinks, but the atmosphere was excellent and made for a fun stop.

This place was amazing. To start, the service was excellent. Our server was very kind and attentive, and made sure our cups were never empty. We were hungry so the food felt like it took forever, but in normal minutes, I think it didn't. Whatever the wait for the good was so worth it. I had gotten the grilled cheese which was literally grilled to perfection. I made a modification to exclude tomatoes and it came exactly as I requested. The fries were thin and the right amount of crisp with the flavor being Devine. Mom said she's been dreaming of the salad she ordered for days after our visit. We went on a chilly Sunday evening and there were plenty of tables available. It was nice that it was inside the Rockefeller building so it was nice to stay warm. I would definitely recommend this spot in a heartbeat.

Family celebration mode ON! Took the whole family out for my mom's birthday at 5 Acres Restaurant, right at Rockefeller Plaza (New York, NY 10112). We had an amazing time -- the staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel so welcome! We kicked things off with their spinach artichoke dip paired with black pepper toast bread -- creamy and packed with flavor. Then came the chicken wings with Bayley Hayzen blue cheese, carrots, celery, and a spicy BBQ sauce that was spot on. We also couldn't resist their hot salted pretzels with cheddar sauce and honey mustard -- so tasty. For the mains, we went all out: Chicago Italian Beef with roast beef, green peppers, au jus, giardiniera on a hoagie roll -- absolutely amazing. Fried Chicken Sandwich with bacon, cheddar cheese, chipotle ranch, gem lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a brioche bun -- my sister couldn't stop raving about it. Me and my mom went for the 5A Burger with caramelized onions, 5A sauce, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato -- hands down one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. We all topped it off with margaritas (no salt on the rim) -- perfectly mixed. Overall, this place is definitely a hidden gem in Rockefeller Plaza. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! #FamilyTime #BirthdayDinner #5AcresRestaurant #RockefellerCenter #NYCEats #HiddenGem #foodieinthebigapple2025

Arnold Palmer - tiny. Drink is not as big as it appears in photo.

Okay had to come around here for an office party and since it was pouring that day, I picked a place that was relatively close to the office. This place was hard to find inside the building. It is pretty much hidden and all the way in the back corner. I didn't realize this was inside Rockefeller building, until we got there and so I was disappointed this wasn't it's own place and rather just eating out in the middle of the building with dividers guarding the area to separate them from the rest of the room. I have never been to Olmsted, but only knew about it because had done a photo shoot there. I have no opinion about it, and so I came here and was super disappointed. The hostess was nice, but didn't set our table up when we got there. We had to wait and our male waiter wasn't attentive at all. Our water was empty for a long time and I had to flag him to get more water. Food wise - Artichoke and spinach dip - horrendous. I love this stuff, but didn't love it here. This is the worst dip I ever had like so bad I much rather have a microwave version from TJ's than here. The artichoke wasn't cut evenly and found a couple of pieces that were too huge to fit inside one's mouth. It was watery and bland. Very disappointed that I ordered this dish. Calamari - this was standard. Steak Frites - the fries were actually really good but can't remember the steak. 5A Burger - standard Arnold Palmer - this was a joke. It's not even freshly squeezed lemonade. It's from Natalie's and this came in the tiny tall cocktail glass rather than a regular drink ware and so did the coke. I am talking about not even a full can's worth. Not impressed.

We ate here while visiting the Rockefeller tree and other Christmas decorations in New York. 5 Acres is located under Rockefeller Center on the Rink level and it's indoor on the Mezzanine level. It was GREAT to come inside and warm up, sit down and have a bite of lunch. We ordered fish and chips which my husband definitely liked. I'll say the picture makes it look greasy but it actually wasn't. The burger was a four out of five. It was cooked perfectly but it just didn't have a lot of flavor. The fries were a hit though and were worth the price of admission! The service was pretty slow for the drinks (Diet Coke in a can and draft beer), but the food came out reasonably. The table next to us had their food before their two cans of soda! Other than that, I would recommend for the location and definitely those fries!

Extremely overpriced. Limited bourbon selection. The bartender was hot cold. He'd arrive to take our order in a crappy, stressed out mood. Then he'd return with a pleasant attitude. Weird. They're currently having a chef partnering with a famous chef. The pop-up menu looks great. E we had the Rockefeller oysters. Tinniest oysters ever but tasted great. Comparable to the Happy hour oysters astound town. It's on the bottom floor of the Rockefeller Center. Good for people watching, if that's your thing.

So great to find out that Rockefeller center has a bunch of places to eat. Today was my first time going inside to see what was there. We ended up deciding on 5acres after reading the menu posted at the restaurants entrance. The food was great. Atmosphere was nice as well. The waiter at the bar was not pleasant but I'm still giving a five star bc I'm not going to let his bad attitude take me there. Maybe the managers will see this review and go over customer service with the staff. Good price point as well.

Service was very fast and food was very good! Aurora was very friendly and great service for our table. we got the mac and cheese with shrimp and the Wisconsin burger and it exceeded my expectations. the pretzel bites came out so quick and it held us over. great service good vibes

Joshua was amazing! He gave us the best food and drink recommendations--tostones and the artichoke were absolutely delicious, and the drinks were spot-on. He made us feel so welcome and really made the night special. I'll definitely be back to try the Blood OJ Margarita he suggested--can't wait!

Everyone was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely focused on making the experience great. A special shoutout to Abel, our server, who made excellent recommendations based on our flavor preferences and helped us discover some incredible drinks. The hospitality, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere were top-notch. Can't wait to come back!

I had never been to…read moreEleven Madison Park before and wanted to check it out, not realizing at first that Clemente Bar is a separate concept from the restaurant. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.

Top recommendation for apps: the fried tuna nigiri bites. The duck ball things were really good too, and the truffle fries. Heads up, there's absolutely no phone service in the downstairs area (which is spacious and great for a big party), but they have wifi that works really well which is great. Would definitely come back here for dinner sometime.

Angel helped guide our order, paced the food well for a group, and made us feel taken care of from start to finish. Drinks were a highlight: bright, refreshing cocktails (we loved the mint/cucumber moment and a spritz-y option). We ordered a few plates to share and everything hit. The bao were fluffy and satisfying, and the crispy chicken was a standout. Finished with a light, not-too-sweet dessert that was the perfect ending. Would recommend for a casual celebration or a coworker night out.
