It dawned on me that I hadn't visited a Big Lots since I drove down to Columbus, OH back in 2018. Wow! I needed to break this streak. I managed to change lanes quickly during rush hour and made a sharp right turn into this Big Lots. It also has a Hobby Lobby nearby and a Zaxby's that I visited days later. There was plenty of parking. I parked fairly close to the main entrance and walked in. The store is huge. I didn't realize that Big Lots had bought Broyhill Furniture until I was immediately greeted by Broyhill sofas, sectionals, and more. I'm glad that the name lives on, as Broyhill has been in existence since the late 1920's. You do find a lot of cheap merchandise here. I missed this place so much. It was nice returning here. If you want cheap phone accessories, this place is perfect. You can find every USB cable and charging adapter out there. I found a Grogu portable speaker that dances to the music being played and also talks. I had to get it. The snacks and beverages were extensive. They are at the back of the store. There was an emphasis on keto items, including Quest protein powders and bars. The washrooms are also at the back of the store. The women's was clean and great. No complaints at all. This store also had over-the-counter medications, such as ibuprofen and antacids. I didn't need any, but it's good to know if I ever do. Candy and gum varieties are great. I got some Extra pineapple refreshers gum. It was so good that I chewed my way through every piece of gum and had to get another one later on during this trip. I signed up for Big Lots rewards. The woman at the cashout area was great. She explained how everything worked. You get discount coupons sent to you through e-mail. I got a 15% off everything one that I used a week later at another store. I paid for my items with a credit card. Easy peasy. I thanked the woman and left with my purchases. It's a decent Big Lots. Be it Mother's Day, Christmas, Easter, or some other mom/grandma-approved holiday, you would be sure to find me here picking up a Hallmark* card along with stocking stuffers, fancy card stock and pens, chocolates, truffles, confections, perfumes, scarves, and more. This was more than a card shop: it was a one-stop shop for every mom, aunt, grandma, teacher, in your life. If you couldn't find it here, you couldn't find it. And you could find it for a reasonable price. Despite the location, you wouldn't be beset by Belle Meade prices. I found the service ranged from extremely helpful to polite but never did i feel unwelcome. Most all the employees were nice.** This is the genteel legacy of what Nashville used to be. Parking was spacious and easy to come by and if you still had a shopping itch after you came here, you could walk the rest of the strip mall (or grab a bite to eat). When I had the opportunity to check out, Joy did not provide me a coupon initially, but when I made the second purchase, and brought it to her attention she provided. She did not bring joy but a fake kindness and hate like she had to be nice. Sad in 2024 still get the subtitle racism. Hallmark is a dying breed and when stores do things like this. We asked one of the clerks about the bench we weren't done shopping but didn't have a way to carry the bench around with us, so the clerk told us she would put it at the front of the store and had us pull the tag to keep with us until we checked out. When we were finally done shopping we started checking out and the Cashier told us that tag didn't belong to that piece of furniture and Had to talk to her manager, after talking to her manager she basically accused us of pulling it from another piece of furniture and that we had to pay the actual price for the furniture. R got a cup of hot coffee while he was in the market, and he said that there were a variety of coffees, lattes, and other hot drinks.
