I walked inside and the lady who greeted me told me she would be just a minute. Nobody else was in the store so I don't know why I had to wait for her to ring me up. I asked for a paper bag with handles. She had given me a plastic bag with handles. Her response was, no your bag has handles. You can't have that one. I was very much taken aback by her rude and abrupt tone and the fact that she would not give me a paper bag. Not sure what happened, I don't think the flowers were properly embedded in the water source. It wasn't a horrific fail, but I expected more.

She didn't greet us or any of the other customers who walked in. She barely spoke to my friend who actually made a purchase...nor did she thank her for the purchase! They also have a snarky sign posted on the wall about not stealing from a small business so they can stay in business...I have an idea...how about you help the customers who are actually shopping local!!! That would help you stay in business and deter theft! The store used to be great in their old location, it is way too crowded now. They had some cute things but I refuse to purchase anything in a place that doesn't treat me well. I doubt I'll be back, there are so many great boutiques in Rochester to support.

The space is noticeably bigger than their previous one, which gives them more staging area and space to offer larger pieces of furniture, artwork, and clothing in addition to all the unique goodies they already carried within the store that are smaller scale. Everything here is extremely pricey, which is unfortunate for me given that there are many things I love from here, but I just simply can't justify spending exorbitant amounts of money on these sorts of homegoods and accessories too often. The products they carry are definitely geared towards the more affluent and those with lofty home design ideas, as they also have fabric samples and the like to help you design and customize your furniture and upholstery upon them in the back of the store too. The price tags make sense in the sense that I have not seen any of the products they offer in any other stores in the metro Detroit area, so there's nothing to compare their goods to. This is a great place to window shop or stop in to get inspiration for your home and to pick up a unique piece or two. I'm still thinking about the tatted up Albert Einstein piece of artwork (included in the photos!), which I love so much, but even just the print of it without it framed was already $70-80 and that's a hard price to justify even for hot Albert Einstein! I like how every time I stop in to Talulah Belle, there's always new discoveries to be had. They clearly refresh their stock frequently and it's always great to stop in here for inspiration and intentionally unique gifts for the loved ones in your life...including yourself!

The store is full of eclectic and vibrant decor that will speak to the hearts of artists everywhere, ranging from clothing, to furniture, to toys and museum quality gifts. It has a variety of quirky finds that I've never seen before. The intention here is almost like a local gallery exalting each stunning piece of art, no matter how small. The pieces ranged from the very tiny porcelain dog, which was about the size of your thumb, to the very large bears, that were furry and taller than me. Colorful, diverse art dotted the walls and were displayed in all different living room themes for all different tastes and styles of home. This was a clever idea. You could picture the decor in your own home. "Buy local" is the intention here and deteriorating properties were bought up by the owner and given a stunning facelift to elevate the community. This was a closed down roller rink. There was also a cinema next door that turned to a gift shop and off beat eatery. The unique history of each is preserved in the original artifacts throughout. Being that this is art focused and unique, don't have the expectation of Walmart prices. Of course you're getting one-of-a-kind quality pieces that will make your heart sing when you see your selected art displayed proudly in your home. The shop's staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed them and they were also pretty available when we needed someone even though they were a bit busy. As for the prices I would put them on par for a place that sells the selection that this place has. You can find some items that are cheaper (not cheaply made), and other items that are pretty high (saw a pillow for around $300 ). I will definitely be putting this place on my list of shops to go for the next time I need to shop for friends and family!
