A friend recommended coming here to go "squishy hunting" which is all the craze right now for…read more littles. They had such a wide variety of different squishies. While they were out of stock of the popular NeeDoh brand, they did have dumplings and a variety of other squishies. I was impressed with the selection and quantity of squishies compared to other stores. They also had several other toys and a make your own slime bar with beads and jewels to add. It's a cool little shop for kids but it was very crowded. Also, the lines to check out were a bit confusing as some families were in line only to look at the products they were passing out behind the register & were not ready to check out. Overall, my daughter walked out with 3 new squishies and was a happy camper.

Walked out a few minutes later after yelling at said employee for literally hitting another dog and yanking it by its leash to hit it further. Long story: I walked into Excelsior looking for a comic book on the way to run some errands. Once I stepped foot into the store I noticed a man sleeping on a recliner, with a dog sitting next to him (a small black and white mixed Chihuahua). The man (employee/manager?) acknowledged me by opening his eyes, and then closed them again to seemingly go back to sleep. After looking at the wall for the specific comic (Captain America Steve Rogers #3), I suddenly heard and then saw another dog barking (a grey and white Chihuahua) behind me. Not bothered by it, but confused why the man wasn't doing anything to stop it, I continued browsing the wall. I turned around in the direction of the dog barking once I heard the man stand up and suddenly grab the dog. Thinking it was more of a gesture to put him in a cage to calm down, I thought nothing of it. I asked him if he had the comic I was looking for and suddenly I heard yelping and the sound of the man smacking the dog. Even worse, the dog had already stopped barking long ago, and the man continued to smack the dog. I began walking in the direction of the man to confirm my suspicions when suddenly I heard a smack and then a snarl from the dog. The man had just gotten bit. He pulled his hand back and went to smack with the other when I called out and asked him, "what's going on". He froze, mumbled something incoherent under his breath, and at that point the first dog that was sitting next to him on the recliner began to bark as well. He lifted his hand and started smacking the dog on the recliner as well. He told me, "He just copies what the other does..." He then told me to pick up his iPhone that had fallen on the floor and hand it to him (a call was coming through). He answered and began mumbling greetings that even I being two feet away could barely understand. At this point I was ready to leave but I was frozen in a state of being uncomfortable and scared for the dogs. I tried talking to the man further, and realized he wasn't even responding to me anymore. I walked out, with no intention to ever return.

Unbeknownst to myself, they had a sale on Aquaman ("You know you love his trident," the billboard outside read), so I ended up grabbing two TPBs. The owner was super friendly and outgoing, telling me how much he personally enjoyed reading one of the volumes I was purchasing. I always try to spot board games when I go into comic book stores -- something this place doesn't have, but it's still a great source for comics in Lake Worth that I'm very excited about. Plus, you gotta love a name like "Excelsior!"

Walgreens compared to CVS, Publix to Winn Dixie, Target to Walmart, you get the idea, but even knowing that difference is a very real thing, 2 "vintage" shops sitting next to each other could likely not be any more different if they tried... Today I explored a place that is quite literally a blast from the past. Kelsey Vintage is a clean, organized, well stocked bastion of all but forgotten treasures. Everything from the knick knacks your parents had sitting on a shelf, to toys you forgot you played with, the music of your youth, and the signs your grandparents pointed out on road trips. This is a not to be missed store in downtown Lake Worth Beach. It has so many different items you…read moremight feel like you are in a museum of unusual things. Yes, there are tourist souvenirs, different gifts, trinkets, and memorabilia. And many of the usual items you'd find -- like t-shirts and jewelry -- but with a unique twist or sense of whimsy or of humor. There are so many different attractive items you won't know where to look first. Then amidst it all are the vintage and collectible items. And even some antiques. There's a back room of vintage clothing, too. Always seeking out a bargain, I found myself sifting through a large sale basket of costume jewelry -- all for only $3 each -- and discovered three items to bring home. We also had a nice conversation with the owner. He told us a bit about his history. I was curious about the mix of new and old items. He told us he even has customers who collect certain things and will approach him to help fill in their collections. If you stop by, allow yourself time to browse as you'll discover a new treasure in every corner. And probably find something intriguing to take home.

Usually you have to go to a comic con to see merchandise like this so it was nice to see that downtown Lake Worth has a full time store. Darkside has over a 1,000 collectibles on display. They also sell modern and vintage toys, Funko Pops, action figures, comics, games, backpacks, collectibles, autographed merchandise, and records. During my visit they were having a $10 sale on the Funko Pops. I loved their horror collection but they cater to all franchise fans like Star Wars and Marvel. You can buy, sell, or trade with them. This is really unique store to have in this area so come out and support them.

Crappy corporate lingo response as well (regardless whether it's individually owned) The only reason we accepted, is because we drove all the way there, out of our way and my husband REALLY didn't want to sell this swing on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist because he didn't want strangers in our home, and the swing requires power Anyways long story short, come to buy here, but don't come here to sell.
