We got 4 doughnuts for an after lunch treat. 4 of us shared these doughnuts since we each wanted to try a few different flavors. We got a 100 layer Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Eclair, and Cinnamon Sugar Toast, and one Purist that was a yeasted doughnut. I tasted each one except for the Purist. All were delicious! My favorite was the Cinnamon Toast. It was covered with cinnamon sugar, without being too dry. My least favorite was the Strawberry Shortcake, since it was a bit lacking in strawberry flavor for me. They are a bit expensive but since we were celebrating, they were a lovely treat. The shop is tucked away in the dessert section at the center of Ponce City Market. Service was also great! My classmates and I graciously had my professor bring their donuts to class as a sweet little treat. We were able to try a variety of flavors including tiramisu, GF maple bacon, vanilla, confetti, and so many more! They were all good (some a bit too sweet for my liking) and well decorated. Since I haven't had a lot of donuts as a cronut, I thought it was pretty good but could have used some more separation between the layers (maybe more butter?). Overall the flavor was good but the two 100 layered missed the mark. The Chocolate Sea Salt could do without the filling in the middle. One of my favorite things about FD is that they have mini versions of some of their regular donuts! My absolute favorite was the summer berry crisp, but every donut was delicious. My favorite (after sampling quite a few, but not all the donuts) is the purists. The most "basic" donut they offer. It's been a long time coming! Five Daughters Bakery has been on my radar for a while. I was at Ponce City Market for the AFWF so decided to go in and grab a few donuts while I had the chance. Like I stated, this location is inside Ponce City Market. Of course, you have to pay for parking. I am not a huge fan of Ponce City Market so for me definitely have to few reasons to go to be in the area. I have been before so walked to the food area. This is where it gets dicey. I walked down the row of food establishments. I did not see Five Daughters. As I was about to leave frustrated, something told me to walk around the corner. What do you know and there it was. Don't ask me for directions cause I couldn't tell ya. Lol! Sheesh. Happy to have found iI. I started browsing the case holding the donuts hostage. Lol! I have read a few reviews and watched Tiktok videos on the 100 layer donuts. I have been eager to try them. My son loves donuts so got a few for us to try. I went with The Purist. Purist is the classic glazed donut. Gotta see if they mastered the basics. Maple Glaze also another simple yet delicious go to. I am a fan of Boston Creme so that was for me. My son loves chocolate so ordered the Brownie Batter for him to try. I also grabbed a Natalie organic strawberry lemonade. It was yummy!! Well, I was driving and excited to try the Boston Creme that wouldn't be shared. I noticed I was a donut short. Forgot to put my Brownie Batter donut in the bag. I was very disappointed. I called to let the sales associate know. He apologized. He offered me a refund and the donut if in the area. I was already half way home about 15 minutes away so declined the donut. I accepted my refund. No way was I going back to pay to park for a donut. And these donuts are not cheap. Average price is $3.50 to $5 per donut. I did get a text notification later showing my credit was processed. Not a fan of dark chocolate. The Boston Creme is a yeast donut with dark chocolate ganache filled with vanilla pastry Creme. I was not a fan of the ganache or creme. It didn't fit with my childhood Bakery Boston Creme from Kentucky. However, if you enjoy dark chocolate you may enjoy this donut. The yeast donut part was good. The donut was large and was expecting more Creme inside. The Purist is a yeast donut covered in vanilla Glaze. Can't go wrong here. Classic donut. Give it a try if you want a classic simple donut. The Maple Glaze looked really good. My son said it was really good. Just right amount of Glaze on top and maple flavor not too overwhelming. Of course, the organic strawberry lemonade was good. Love Natalie's drinks. I would say go to location with free parking or try if already there for another reason. Again, I stumbled across it. It's on the backside not main walk way with other restaurants. It has its only little cozy corner. The donuts are little pricey so grab a few to try. The ones we had were good. I was excited to find a bakery that has Cronuts, I can usually only get them from Le Donut in Houston TX or Dominique Ansel in Las Vegas. Service was quick and pleasant. I ordered a Purist and a King Kong. They were ok, the Purist was good, didn't care for the King Kong though, frosting was too thick and it was too dense for my liking. Definitely didn't compare to Le Donut or Dominique Ansel, but worth a try and I'll probably go back at some point for a Purist, just wish it was plain. read more

The complaints I saw beforehand were about parking, pricing, and finding the store. First off, parking is overly ABUNDANT and DOES cost money. But for 2hrs it is only like $5. I don't see that being an issue considering it only gets cheaper from there. Second off, finding the actual store is set on max difficulty without reference. But it's easy if you GO TO THE FOOD COURT. FIND KING OF POPS IN THE MIDDLE. THEN GO BEHIND IT. and there lies the store Finally, the doughnuts are up there in price (avg of $4) but WOW they are worth it. I was scared that the 100 layer doughnuts would be too pastry-ish, but they still have that classic soft doughnut feel with the addition on fantastic infused layers. Also these doughnuts come with some serious FLAVOR, the taste and descriptions match perfectly. Side notes - The donuts are medium in size, not as big as pictures make them look - The quinnamon is more on the pastry side, also not as flavorful - The King Kong is probably the best Maple Bacon I have ever had Overall a 10/10 experience I will definitely come back any time I get a chance! read more

Maple cronut - I didn't know infused meant cream filled. I thought infused was vanilla flavor infused. But it is buttercream filled. Everything is pure sugar sweet. Which I suppose is what a donut typically is. But this is even more so. I could only take 1-2 bites and that was it. It was coated in icing and then dipped in sugar and then buttercream filled. The mini vanilla purist was better. Since it wasn't filled with buttercream. But still very sweet. I would try another mini purist. Cronut done right. Been to Dominique Ansel Bakery, the creator of cronut, and I prefer these. I do not like pastries that are hard that it scrapes the roof of my mouth. These cronuts were the perfect texture - light, crispy, moist and soft. On top of it all, they offer great flavors and lot of options that has both the icing on top and filling in the middle! My favorites were the triple raspberry and maple glaze. I love jelly filled donuts and raspberry jelly was just perfect, tasted homemade and not overly sweet. Good recommendations by the staff member. I love bacon donuts in general, but did feel like King Kong fell short on the sweet and salty balance and was just sweet. Just wow! I love that these donuts are unlike your typical donuts, and there's a wide variety of choices. I will say I had a hard time finding them. They are tucked in the corner inside Ponce City Market. My GPS kept saying I was there when I was outside and got rather frustrated trying to find them. Plus I passed it a number of times.
