There are three screens with movies playing back to back. Well organized lots. The little store for movie snacks had a good selection and appears to be renovated and nicely vibrant. Love going here! I've a been here a few times and always have a good time. The drive in movie experience is truly one of a kind and is a great spot for a first date ;) - general admission is $12.00 and the Tuesday price is $7.00 - there is lots of space at each theatre spot (there are 3 in total) and from my experience, there usually isn't a car beside you even if you park near the front - there is a cool little establishment made to look kind of like a 50s style diner where you can buy popcorn, cotton candy, drinks, and various other snacks - prices are quite reasonable - washrooms are clean - there is a small play area / park near the front of the screen for kids to play in - the intermission and pre/post movie animations on the screen are very cute and retro style - really compliments the whole drive-in movie feel and adds to the overall experience - corporate bookings can be made Before going, make sure to check out the website for the movie times and whether the drive-in is open! I enjoy going here because of the retro feel. It fills up pretty quickly so I like to try and get there as early as possible to make sure I get a good spot/view of the screen. I like how when you pay for your ticket, they provide you with a plastic bag for your garbage. Depending on what's playing and how many booths are opened, there could be a bit of a wait to pay for your ticket. The concession/diner was interesting. I like the ambiance of the diner. It took a few minutes to acknowledge that we wanted to place an order. The staff behind the counter was more focused on wiping down behind the counter and cleaning. I only ordered a slushie but staff was very friendly. I suggest checking the website before you come so that way you know the show times and what to expect. Overall, I would come here again since it's a good experience. The washrooms are what you would expect at a public park. It was a bit confusing when it came to using the faucet. read more

I loved my experience at this drive-in! It has a super retro feel but the movies they play are usually new releases. They have three screens and each screen plays two different movies, but you can't swap screens in between (you can't watch movie #1 at screen 1 and then movie #2 at screen 3, for example). There is plenty of space but it can fill up pretty fast. The diner food is pretty old-fashioned and greasy but in a good way. I ordered cheese fries and had to wait 20 min because they forgot about my order so we missed some of the movie. That was the only sucky part of my experience. Also, what everyone says about the mosquitos--bug spray is a MUST when you watch a movie here. Other than that, everything is great! read more

So cool!!! When mentioned that I wanted to watch finding Dory, he brought me here instead of a conventional theatre even though it's a 50 minute drive from where we both live. I was blown away simply because I wasn't aware drive in theatres were a real thing.. only thought it was a thing in movies.. oops. We got there early so there were plenty of spaces to park.. there was also a bunch of cars parked in the way back early of the night.. so... ANYWAYS. I was warned beforehand to use the washroom in the restaurant we ate at because the washrooms here were dingy and lines were long - I didn't get to personally see it but he told me "the guy's one is sketchy" so I assume the girl's one is even worse. They sell food and drinks here, just like a regular movie theatre! I didn't get anything but he told me that he got chicken fingers once and it tasted like rubber. Ech. Prices are comparable to any other movie theatre, $24 flat for two people, which isn't bad. They also have half price tuesdays and carload thursdays. If I lived in the area, I'd be here all the time! It's such a cute activity and definitely gives you more private time, if you're on a date. No having to hear coughing, snorting or chewing from random people and no worries about being kicked in the back of your seat. I'm a fan! Ps. Finding dory was amazing. read more

First time going to a drive in theatre and I was super excited. The experience of watching a movie under the stars is really cool...especially if you have a portable radio and lawn chair set up outside the car with some nice cool weather. This theatre has a snack bar and some washrooms in the back. The screen was very big. We reversed in and watched from our trunk. We were able to listen in to the radio signal with our portable radio. We opted to not leave our car on idle for the radio as we were worried about battery issues. A couple of people's cars were drained out of battery and they had to call CAA for a boost. Snack bar food: - prices were reasonable, significantly cheaper than cineplex's snack combos - funnel cake with vanilla ice cream and some strawberry sauce is so goddamn good. I must get this every time I come to this drive in movie theatre - french fries were fresh/made to order and sooo good!!! chicken fingers with fries is put into a surprisingly large take out box. (took a good 15 minutes to come out during credits of movie 1) - chili fries also very good, but took forever to come out of the kitchen (30 minute wait before the movie started) - cheese sauce that came with the nachoes were sooo salty (saltier than cineplex's). Issues with the snack bar/washrooms: - snack bar looked very dirty and old/not maintained in a sanitary condition - no one wore hair nets/hats/caps to catch hair - some of the kitchen staff did not look clean, clothes looked unhygienic (raggedy white shirts covered in dirt/dust) - about 2 washroom stalls in the women's side did not have working locks (therefore not useable) - most of the toilets were filthy, clogged, not cleaned during the movies - only 2 handwash sinks were functional read more

Kids enjoyed watching the movies in lawn chairs and in the vehicle. as per the movie theater food and drinks - I didn't get a chance to try but the place look pretty Retro and get that old school vibe nicely. Worst experience. They need to implement rules of letting people enter the movie once it starts. 20 minutes max or you should have to wait until the next movie. It was really nice trying to watch a scary movie (Anabelle Comes Home) when every two minutes cars are driving around with their head lights trying to find a spot, which ruins the viewing on the screen. Dark movies need darkness or you honestly cant see whats going on the screen. People in movie theatres dont find their seats with flash lights... same rules should apply here. What a waste of time. To date this is the worst drive-in I have been to. Let's back it for a minute though. My wife and I had a goal to see movies at 10 different drive ins by the end of the summer. We completed our goal and the 5 was one of our stops. When we pulled up, I was actually pretty stoked. The sign was big and unique. The entrance gate was a little slow, but not too bad. We went to see the movie ET which was kind of cool that they were showing. I enjoy it when drive-in theaters do retro movies, I think it's even better when such a good crowd turns out. That's unfortunately, the end of my positives, everything from there was mediocre at best. Let's start with parking. I drive a minivan, so it's no surprise that I have to park near the back, how far back however was a surprise. I started to park and some guys the golf cart pulled up shouting that I needed to move, not the best approach, but whatever. I moved back to where they directed me and called it good. This wouldn't have been an issue if it weren't for the fact that 20 minutes later they directed people to park directly in front of us. I don't know why they would use a double parking method, but I literally could not see the screen from my car. I posted a picture of our view if we leaned to see the screen better. Next, we walked over to the snack bar... Except the snack bar was closed. Nobody mentioned that, not the gate, not the yelling guys on the golf cart and not even the little menu handout. We find out there is a second snack bar so we walk over there. The line was out the building and through at least five rows of cars. I get that snack bars get busy, I have seen the line longer at my local drive-in. How slow this line moved was crazy. I would guess I spent 30/45 minutes in line. We showed up early for our show about 30 minutes, the movie had definitely started before I got back to the car. Let's talk about that walk back to the car actually... They're pretty decent stretches where there are no lights, partially due to the movies now being on. So I get back to the car where we can't see the movie and start snacking, it turns out they forgot one of the items and got both of our drinks wrong. It was my bad for not noticing the missing item, but I feel like the drinks is on them. In addition to all of that, we also had hard time seeing the first little bit of the movie. The lights from the entrance gate as well as the people coming in washout the particular screen that we were on, obviously the later it got the better it got. All in all, I would not recommend the five Drive-In to anyone based off of this experience. It's a real shame because this is the first drive-in that I wouldn't support. read more

Even the concessions are well priced compared to a standard movie theatre. 2 drinks and a large popcorn for $15 is not bad at all. The only thing I would change would be the bathrooms. I saw justice league. Sound quality was amazing through Fm car radio. Make sure to park far from screen on the upward slope so that people on the back seat can also enjoy. Its a good idea to start your car after 20 to 30 min to make sure battery is charging. screen quality was also pretty good. Watching movies under stars and moon is amazing. I also used bose soundlink link mini 2 with aux cable and Fm through phone that's also an alternative if you don't want to use your car battery. I have always wanted to go to a drive in just for the sheer novelty so we decided to check out Five Drive-In in Oakville. Getting there via the QEW was pretty painless as it was after rush hour. Be aware that they take cash only so hit up a bank machine beforehand. Cost of admission was $12/person for THREE movies, albeit they weren't the best 3 movies. Once we paid, we were given directions to our theatre and the radio station that would give us audio. The picture quality of the movie wasn't fantastic...this was no IMAX. I kept rubbing my eyes thinking that my cataracts were acting up again but the video never seemed to come into focus. The bathroom situation was also less than desirable. As we headed to the facilities between movies, a staff member warned that there was no water pressure, which meant no flushing and no water to wash my hands. If only I had worn an adult diaper... Still, it was still fun to watch movies under a starry Oakville sky. read more

Love this place. It is a throwback in most ways - that said, they have HD projectors so the picture quality is great. Price includes two movies and they do well to pair movies which match. The concession is terrific and they have a all the normal things you'd expect, but also things like: fried pickles, pulled pork sandwiches, poutine, etc... They even make their milkshakes from scratch and the employees have always been on the ball and friendly. I've found this place extremely beneficial as well for a couple specific circumstances. 1) For a couple summers when our son was a toddler, he'd simply sleep on the drive over. That allowed us as a couple to go out, and without having a babysitter. 2) The other niche I've found was working as a support worker for people with developmental disabilities. Anyone who knows the field will know there's often challenges going into crowded places like a movie theatre, as well as the fact that the staffing ratio is often too small to bring everyone. With the drive in, the people I supported have always been calm since they're in a familiar environment, and in the worst scenario, you're already in your car if you need to leave. Just a couple ways seeing a movie in your own car can actually help more people get out depending on their circumstances. I can't really find any critiques, so 5 star. read more

This place is amazing. My entire family loves going to the drive in. It's a great deal any night of the week but especially awesome on Car Load Thursdays. $18 for 5 people (and a dog) to watch two movies? Where else can you get that? The food is good, the prices aren't as ridiculous as they are in a regular movie theatre. The thing to keep in mind is that you're going to a drive-in not a regular theatre. This is why I am so pleased with this place. I'm not comparing it to a normal movie theatre. Yes, the bathrooms get busy, yes it gets chilly, yes the bugs can be annoying. Remember, you're at a drive-in. Be patient, bring a blanket, bring some bug spray, you'll love it! We just recently discovered the leash-free dog park at Screen 1. This blew me away! My dog is a pro at the drive-in thing and loves chilling in the bed of my pick-up and watching movies with us. Adding in a leash-free area where he can run and play with other pups before/between movies, that was a genius idea. I don't think my family will watch movies any other way! Pro-tip: We went with a group of neighbours and one of them had a boombox with a FM radio. It made the experience that much better! We were all sitting in lawn chairs with the radio right there. I'm a HUGE movie fan and once I found out that I'd be missing the opening weekend of Pirates 3 because of the stoopid baby and lack of babysitter I almost lost it. Good thing the hubby is always there to swoop in and remind me of places like the 5 Drive In. Not only is it pretty cheap (on a weekend $12pp for 3 movies) you can pretty much bring everyone with you (babies and dogs are free). There is also a little playground for the kiddos to keep them entertained, and the concession food is actually pretty good. And even though they tell you not to bring in outside food I totally saw people having their own little fresh food picnic so I guess if you're able to sneak it in, go for it. Seriously - I haven't been to mom and tot at the movies but I can only assume that its a bunch of screaming toddlers while mom's ignore them and sip pre-made gin and tonics out of cups they previously dumped the soda out of. And though that sounds right up my alley - going to the drive in with a baby was relatively stress free. He just curled up and went to sleep and the hubby and I were able to enjoy 2 of the 3 movies - cmon...the last one was Beastly...cmon there's no "enjoying" that movie. I would have given them a 5 star review on account of their cheesy fries alone - however in the break between movie 1 and movie 2 when waiting in the always ridiculous line for the women's washrooms it seems that the all the water was shut off so no toilets were flushing and you couldn't wash your hands which is always a sanitary delight. Thank goodness for baby wipes! One last thing to mention - the majority of the people that go here are adults or families, which is nice because you don't get parked next to a car full of horny teenagers. One of the few remaining drive in theaters in the GTA. You get 2 movies (and sometimes 3) for $10-12. Tuesday are even cheaper. It's usually pretty full on weekends so get there early to get a good spot and avoid the line ups. 9th line is only one lane in either direction so it can be a huge pain. For sure fun! I went on a tuesday where it is 7 dollars a person for two movies. We had a spot right infront, so direct view. Now sometimes its hard to see the screen , especially if people turn on their lights, but the nostalgia and the atmosphere is the fun part. I'm not a big movie buff, even though I hate commercials on t.v. I embrace the break it gives me. I can hardly ever make it through an entire movie unless I LOVE it. I've been to this drive in 3 times and I think it's pretty neat. As a teenager i enjoyed it more than I do now though. I suggest you bring your own food (is that allowed?). I would appreciate if they sold beer. The theatre in Etobicoke does(it isn't a drive in). I understand maybe drinking and driving would be a concern, but you're obviously carpooling if you're here. That would keep my attention longer. Washrooms were okay, cleaner than I expected and the line wasn't horrendously long for a Friday night. Discounting the fact that I had to rent a Zipcar in order to venture to Oakville for this AND that it was raining, the experience was mediocre: 1. The lot is dark and not clearly labeled with signs on which screen is where... I drove in a loop a few times. The attendant also recited the directions too fast and unenthusiastically. 2. The screen is NOT THAT BIG? I totally would choose the huge Cineplex screens any day. I felt like I was watching TV in a car. 3. How exactly does one prevent the windows from fogging up on a humid rainy day, without soaking the interior of the car as one eats a giant serving of drive-in poutine?? Popcorn isn't always fresh however the set up for the drive in is great, lots of space, angles for you to park you car without blocking others and last your very own space!!! I recommend a blanket, some water and maybe some foldable chairs if you'd like to see the stars. The canteen sells hot chocolate for those of you who care to watch movies during the chilly season and food if you didn't eat! Note: if you have a bad battery bring booster cables just incase!!!! I've been to a few drive in movies in my years. We usually go once a summer up to the one just outside of Newmarket. We decided to try this one, brought our new dog along for the night. Got a blanket, some tea. It was ok for the most part. Managed to get a good spot until a guy pulled in about 10 mins into the first movie in a truck two rows behind us and left his lights on for the entire movie. Not the fault of the venue, but I expected that at some point someone from the staff would have asked them to turn it off. Not hard to miss. We relocated to another space halfway through the movie. The big disappointment for us was when the first movie was done. We wanted to switch to another screen because the second movie on our screen didn't appeal to us at all. At every single drive in I've ever been to you were allowed to do this. Not at this place. We were forced to leave. I really don't see the issue of switching screens. If I pay for two movies then let me see whatever two movies I want. read more

Drive in's are great, but I think that in self-important 2013, people have ruined the experience. I have been a few times going back to maybe 10 years ago, and it's just gotten worse. It's usually packed which could be a pain, but wow, people just don't care any more. People come with their SUV's and truck and park them backwards in the front rows with their lights in your eyes, people running around making noise, playing ball, talking on phones and goofing off during the movie. Last time we had a truck full of retarded girls taking flash pictures and not shutting up next to us, and at least 5 vans and SUV's parked backwards with their lights hitting everyone in the eye. Ended up going to the theatre for my next movie. These guys need to do some rounds and kick out the losers that ruin the experience for every one else. read more

I like the fact that you have the luxury if watching a movie in the privacy of your own car and the convenience of turning your movie up and down from your car stereo. Car battery dead? Recommended by a coworker and thought it would be cool for a date night, something new. A little far from home but the drive wasn't too bad considering the location is in the middle of nowhere. No line up due to the colder nights so October would be good time to go before it gets too cold. The parking lot itself can use a little work. It was hard to navigate around the parking lot and there are no signs to tell you which parking lot you need to be in and it is complete dark even before the movies had started. Once you found your spot and settled in, it's not so bad. Each row is tilted slightly upwards to face the tall screen. They don't allow outside food or drinks but we had some snack and take out before heading in. Preventing patrons from bringing in their own choice of snack and drinks in a drive-in is kind of silly but I can appreciate their food service; there is a cart that drives around selling popcorns. Paid $12/person to watch two movies. Not too bad! Some of the things that annoyed me were ppl that constantly flash their headlights and the washrooms are not exactly clean. Tip: if you are going to be watching two movies, dress in comfortable clothing and bring a blanket unless you want to leave your car running for 5 hours! read more

They don't take American dollars or credit cards. Fortunately, we were there with another family and they gave us the cash to pay the $17 for the carload. Two separate occasions we were completely disappointed by the lack of communication and failure of customer service. The first: two weeks ago, we tried to buy tickets online and the website said to just buy tickets at the box office at the theatre. So we drove from Scarborough to Oakville, at least an hour drive, only to arrive and be told every single screening was sold out. So for what reason was the website not updated to reflect this? During a pandemic such as COVID-19 consumers have to rely on websites to update us about what's going on. So, anyway, we were really disappointed and drove an hour home. The second: Tonight we drove again, all the way from Scarborough to Oakville, but don't worry, we bought tickets online! Except we arrive and there's two police cruisers (FTP) and a fire truck parked in the driveway. Two employees at the front ask us if we have tickets and for what screen. We do have tickets, for screen 2. They say that the power went out for screen 2, so we ask if we can see a different movie at a different screen. The employee says yeah, head up to the box office. So we drive up to the box office and the woman working it was rude to us from the minute we pulled up. We asked if there was any space at the other theatres and she very rudely spoke to us and told us no. We said, but the other employees at the front said it would be fine, and she kept asking us who those people were at the front. Like I don't know bitch, they were wearing the same shit as you. What am i, keeping an attendance list of the Five's employees? She finally gave us a voucher and we left. Suffice to say, customer service sucks, hugely disappointed on two different occasions, will never return, a refund would make more sense than a voucher. Safe yourself the drive and put on Netflix. Two thumbs down. Decided to try the drive-in for a date night yesterday. This was my first experience, and I have to say, it was a great one! The movie we watched was on Screen 2. There were a lot of spaces and we got a nice one up close. The screen wasn't as big as I expected it to be, but I felt I still enjoyed the movie. We got to see two movies for 12$ each, which is a great deal. Snacks were good. We got popcorn and nachos! Unfortunately the concession booth did not have hot food the day we went. The concession staff were very friendly! Washrooms were kind of gross. Many of the toilet were super clogged, resulting in a terrible smell. Wish they did some regular cleaning/checkups there. Here's some tips if you plan to go: - bring blankets on a cold night. - dress comfortably if you plan on seeing two movies - get there early as the place fills up fast - don't be a jerk - turn off your headlights and don't open your hatch if it's too high Overall great experience. I used to frequent here but it just gets worse and worse every time! The service is awful - the staff is so rude and unhelpful. They basically are just there to take your money and run. We've been sent into screens where there are people still pouring in and parking in between aisles. This means you're basically stuck until people leave. The bathrooms are honestly frightening and one of the reasons I chose to stop going there. During my last visit, the lines were so long there were people doing their business in the bushes and other people handing out toilet paper to those of us in line because all but one of the stalls were out of order and/or out of toilet paper. The staff was nowhere to be seen at this point (at the first intermission) and the children running the snack booth basically had no idea of what they should do. I have vowed never to set foot there again. It's basically a garbage can. read more

First things first, the Five Drive-In is a great deal. With the cost of going to see a movie at a regular theatre continuing to shoot up exponentially, two movies for $12 is a steal. (They also have $6/per person on Tuesdays and $17 for a car full of people on Thursdays.) I've been coming here since I was little and I have great memories of killing time at the playground in front of screen one before the movies started. They also have a beach volleyball court as well. When you're waiting for your movies, they really ensure you have something to do and don't have to fill the void with conversation with the people you came with. The sound quality is fine but if you're in the backseat of a car, it can be tough seeing the movies and not the most comfortable. It's a drive-in so there's some obvious problems -- some people just opt for lawn chairs which works too (but the mosquitoes are deadly.) Somethings about the Five lose it a five star review: You have to get there about an hour before your movie starts or you might be waiting in a huge line. The washrooms aren't the nicest. They don't allow outside food or drink (a lot of people disregard this rule and smuggle things in but it's still a rule.) Overall, it's an awesome throwback and a great way to save money to come here. read more

I have never been to a drive in and i have driven by this place a few times and seen the lineups so I knew I had to try it. In summary, it was amazing! We went on a Saturday on the most perfect September day. We arrived about 50 min early and was told by the cashier the 2nd row was the best for smaller cars. The sound was phenomenal since it comes through an FM stereo station. The only snafu I had was trying to figure out how to turn off my day running lights! I loved it and can't wait to back. read more
