Picked up last night June 29th. Burger was excellent. Large fries were overcooked dark and greasy. It was a bag full of grease. I could not finish it. Very disappointed. I had to wait cause they make the fries when you arrive and I asked for no salt. I was the last customer of the day but still you want good quality food. As "chain" burger places go, I feel Five Guys is pretty much near the top of my list, especially this location. Five Guys, and places such as SmashBurger etc, are going for the "cut above" the fast food burger joints like McDonald's, BK, Sonic, etc, but occupy a "middle ground" between those and the "boutique" burger places. This location is clean and the staff is friendly and respectful. (I'm at that point in my life where being called "Sir" is welcomed). I find the burgers are well cooked and nicely dressed up when done "all the way". The fries are excellent, most often, and I like the "devil may care" approach to serving size...always over filled. It's definitely a no frills kinds of place with the "high boy" tables and chairs and two-tone color scheme. One suggestion though, try the fries with ketchup with the malt vinegar mixed in...it's EXCELLENT! Again, I really like 5 Guys. It's the better if that "mid tier" burger places for me. Great food, awesome staff. Love the free peanuts!!! Ordered takeout, and after getting home the food was still hot and fresh.

So, I came into 5 Guys for the obvious reason; I wanted a cheeseburger. Not only was it the closest burger spot, but it also reminded me that it's been years, 5 to be exact, since my last visit to a 5 Guys burger spot. You may be wondering....Why did it take me so long? And honestly, with so many life changes occurring repeatedly and at times sporadically, let's just say, 5 Guys was not on my radar. Upon entering the establishment, I was immediately brought back to the good ol' pre-covid days. The food was just as I remembered if not better. I ordered a double cheeseburger with the works, some fries and a milkshake. I was quickly reminded after the first bite and also with the first sip, that frequenting this place more than once a week would not do a body or a wallet good. I love Five Guys hamburgers. But be careful. The "small burger" is a normal size hamburger; the regular hamburger is a double patty. Great, but a lot of food for some people. The fries are good--again, a lot of French fries for one person. The service is fast and the workers are pleasant. More expensive than Burger King or Wendy's but so much more delicious. read more

I can't give zero stars because Yelp won't let me. On November 10, 2022, I purchased over $50 of food from  the Five Guys at 35 Merrick Road in Amityville, N.Y. Unfortunately, the food I purchased was inadequate. The lettuce on my burger was rotten, black, and slimy. The probability of having black rotten lettuce with bacteria containing E.coli O157 and other harmful germs including norovirus, Salmonella, Listeria, Cyclospora is very high. I lodged a complaint via the Five Guys phone app on November 10, 2022. I received a reply back from your HR and Training Specialist, Irais Carbajal, a day later.  I reached out a week later. Nothing. Silence. A nice burger dinner with my Son was ruined with food that was not edible. No reply and no resolution. I have waited a reasonable time and will now seek help from a consumer/health protection agency. Keep your gift certificate. I will go elsewhere. read more

I have to bump my review down to 3 stars just due to how disgusting the place was when I walked in. The first thing I look for is cleanliness and how nice the staff is. I tried to sneak some photos so they weren't great but no tables were wiped - almost all of them were dirty. There were 2 tables where the floor was a mess, the table where the straws and what not are was a mess along with the floor below it. Ice was all over the mats. It just really needed a good sweeping and mopping. It takes 5 min to sweep I don't understand why it is so hard for some people. Wipecounters and sweep. We ended up not staying there to eat so I took it home to eat because it grossed me out. The staff seemed nice, I mean they're working and making food ALL DAY so I don't expect them to be crazy peppy so I have no complaints about them.. just clean the damn place. read more

Damn right I'm giving Five Guys five stars! Big, juicy, delicious hamburgers with unlimited toppings at a reasonable price. I'm a sucker for a good burger and this place surpasses any expectations for fast food. Want extra cheese on your burger for no added cost? Go right ahead. Wanna order online or on your phone so you don't have to wait in store? Be my guest! All options that are available at this location. Associates at this location are particularly friendly. I've been to 2 other locations and they haven't been nearly as clean or welcoming. I appreciate that they go the extra mile with customer service. Many places forget that it's an experience for every customer. Beware! Order a regular size french fry and split with someone. They will fill your cup and add another heaping pile of fresh fries in the bag. I'm obviously not complaining about too many french fries, just something you should keep in mind! read more

This is what getting food fast should be about. The burgers are really good, the fries are great, everything is made fresh. There are some peanuts if you like and any toppings you want on your burger are free. Instead of getting that sinking fast-food feeling that you aren't sure of what you're getting this place tells you where the meat, the potatoes, the peanuts and the peanut oil for frying all came from that week. It's refreshing and I'm glad they are here. read more

I went to the 5 Guys in Amityville for the standard burger, fries, and hang out munching peanuts while waiting for the order. The burger was horrible, and my daughter and I actually got sick from the food. If it happens again, I'm going to report them. Hmm . Well maybe it was an off night . My kids were fans of the burgers but they were very disappointed this last time around . We ordered and stayed to eat and the most unsettling part was the lack of care and concern of the employees . The burgers were wrong and not what we ordered got a tude from the cashier but whatever . The usual delicious bag of french fries were a huge disappointment, bag was filled with dark brown tiny over cooked pieces of the daytime leftover fries. How could they serve this ? I think I'm at the nexus of the burger universe. I've got All American, Fat Burger, Cheeburger Cheeburger, and best of all: Five Guys Burgers and Fries is the closest. If I wasn't so lazy, I could walk to this place. Bacon Cheeseburger w/ BBQ sauce & mushrooms...delicious. For those who have never been to a Five Guys, you can get as many toppings as you like at no extra cost. Also, Five Guys will give you more french fries than you can possibly handle. Don't order a large unless you have a whole bunch of people with you. Cause first, they fill up a large sized soda cup with fries. Then, they put that cup in a bag. Finally, they dump another couple of handfuls of fries until you have a small grocery store bag full of french fries. read more

This is another one of the Five Guys locations that I frequent on Long Island and I love it. What do I get? A yummy little cheeseburger and fries, of course. I've never had a problem here - they always remember the toppings I ask for and make it hot and fresh! It's never too crowded and there is always ample parking! Only issue I had the other day - the AC was cranked up (it's March, and it was maybe 70 degrees out that day) and I was freezing! Even with a sweater, I wanted to leave right after eating, because I was so cold. Ah well. At least the food was delicious! read more

I'm a totally fan of their shakes, my fav is the Oreo cream with the cookie pieces and I'll get their grill cheese with grilled onions and tomato. I'll stop by here and there for lunch or if my son crave a burger from there. The staff is always nice and they move pretty quickly. read more

I love the food at this location. However, and it's a big however!! The employees need to be groomed and have their nails cut. One of them, William G, had nails half inch long, piercing through the gloves and dirt under them... that's unacceptable in the food industry. I was always scared to go to Five Guys since I got sick 6 years ago. I was scared to eat burgers if they weren't homemade until I gave them another try yesterday. When I hear "Five Guys" I think grease. This could be a good or bad thing depending on who you talk to. So, yes the fries are plentiful and likewise greasy. The bag they come in shall be soaked in grease. Your hands after eating the grease and salt and potato part will be a tad greasy. The burgers are messy and likewise greasy. The grilled cheese - preparation on a burger bun - is good, perhaps not as mentally satisfying when you're next to someone eating a burger. Prices are not so bad, a $8-10 lunch. read more

I was on the phone with an employee at 7:40 placing an order for curbside pick up. They completely disconnected me while I was speaking. I went to call back and it was a busy dial tone for 15 minutes before I could get through to anyone on the phone. Instead of accommodating our order after we had placed it with an employee, the employee who picked up the phone rudely said they were closed and could not help and mocked that I was placing an order with another employee when they were closed, meanwhile it was still before their closing time of 8PM. read more
