Wow. I expected more considering the renowned Jesse Schenker owns this place. When this restaurant first opened the food quality, service, options, and quantity were all larger and better. I'll admit that I didn't expect much, but to my surprise, this was the best burger I've had in a long time! Upon walking in you're greeted with a vintage feel, simple burger shop. It's decorated with vintage movie posters and Coca Cola, giving it a chill vibe. There's games to play while you wait which I thought was a nice touch. Blown away by this little spot!!!! Amazing smash burger (although the patty was still so wonderfully thick and cooked to a perfect medium rare). Extremely flavorful burger, crunchy french fries and enormous onion rings. Prices are really fair based on the quality and size of what you get. They make their own burger buns and everything is so filling. Really nice people which makes this place an even more desirable spot to stop for a bite to eat. They have a few canned beer and wine selections and they also have a keg behind the counter that rotates (on my visit I was offered a $3 draft of Brooklyn Brewing lager). Cool throwback vibe and love the limited menu and minimalist concept but just can't get past how salty everything is. We've gone a few times but no one ever finishes the food because it is too salty and just overwhelming to the point of being inedible after a few bites. Even our young ones are now over it. We were looking to try a quick good place and came here expecting to find a nice burger joint close to home that was somewhat closer to burgerology. What we found was better!! We all agreed that the Gimme Burger is close to Five Guys style ---(which in our mind a compliment because we like five guys) but less expensive and without the peanuts. The combination of the homemade bread and lettuce and tomatoes just all came together. The burgers were nice. Not too big like burgerology so you can easily finish them which probably why the price is reasonable. Definitely high quality meat and although we don't recall being asked if we wanted to cooked medium or rare --they came out great. The fries-actually --very McDonald's style and excellent. Who doesn't look fries cookies crisp but golden with a nice salt. Finally -they have shakes. Just the basic chocolate and vanilla or a mix. We tried all three and everyone enjoyed it. This really was a perfect pick for the nights. I would not be surprised to see this store multiply on Long Island or certainly become as famous as "the All American Burger" joint of Oyster Bay. One of the best burgers, onion rings, and shake I've had in awhile. I got the double patty cheeseburger with bacon. The burger is generous in size, very juicy, and bacon is thick and crisp. Onion rings are the beer battered type, and very crispy. Strawberry shake that isn't overly sweet/not artificial, and you can actually taste and see the strawberry chunks. Quite possibly my new favorite burger place!! Stopped by to pick up a take out order on a random rainy Wednesday evening. Street Parking was a little tricky to navigate but luckily found a spot. Once I stepped in, I was told my order was being prepared, which gave me a chance to look around. The posters reminded me of my childhood; Rocky, Steve McQueen, Farrah. The pictures other reviewers posted were accurate (and, put simply, better than mine). When the food was ready, the staff apologized for the wait (not long at all) and I was on my way. DELICIOUS. I couldn't get over how much food and how great it tasted. Special shout out for labeling all the burgers in my order - no guessing! (Handwriting should be a font - notice I ate some of the sandwich and realized I wanted to take a pic of the great penmanship.) Recently opened (late February 2023) restaurant with a simple menu focusing on burgers, fries, and shakes. The burgers are very tasty and are made from a blend of brisket, chuck, and short rib. They are available as single (4 oz) or double (8 oz) and come with or without cheese. Each burger comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and red onions and is served on a house made bun. Fries are mcdonalds style and i recommend getting a side of the special burger sauce to dip them in. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but there aren't a lot of tables. We tried this after having enjoyed the fine dining experience from these owners. Was looking forward to the dining after the comments from Four's staff. But sadly this was a letdown. The double cheeseburger was overcooked and lacked seasoning. Wasn't juicy at all and got no flavor from the bun, special sauce or the meat blend. My wife liked the fries but I thought they were over salty. I'm sure the outdoor dining will be nice in warmer weather, and if pavers replace the grass/dirt. But they need to go back and work the menu. If you're going to focus on burgers, chicken sandwich and fries, you need to nail those recipes. It's nowhere near that right now. Read the reviews for this spot and thought we'd give it a try for take out. Place is cute. Trying to be retro but seems to fail short. Like they could have tried a bit harder. Super simple menu as others have stated. That's not necessarily a bad thing if they nail it. Unfortunately, they did not. Burgers were so greasy that on our short drive home the bag was loaded with grease as were my jeans. I have literally never had this happen before. I grabbed the obligatory fry on the way home and was greeted with more salt than the Atlantic Ocean. Seriously salty AF. Got home and tried the burger. First it was a pretty sloppy burger. Flavor was Ok, not bad, not particularly good, just ok. Probably would have been a 3 star review if I didn't have to go scrub the grease out of my jeans. Makes me think that the early reviews are friends and family. We won't be back. Quick addition: they say they have wine and beer. If you consider Miller Lite and Pabst beer, then I guess they do. Mediocre, very overpriced, slightly off tasting fast food'esq burger I'd generously rate as a 4 out if 10, and honestly terrible fries that taste like under-seasoned cardboard. The kids said their milkshakes were good. I've gone twice now, or shall I say eaten there twice now, tried several times in February when they said they were open but weren't when I got there, and had the same experience twice. Doubtful I'd do a third. Being kind because I respect the owner and what he's done for OB, but 3 stars is a serious gift. Simple menu done so well! We were in town looking for a lunch spot and this is exactly what we needed. Quick serve, seating outside and inside (thought not a ton if you have a big group), wonderful and friendly service. They are famous for their burgers and I recommended getting one. We loved their homemade buns and burger blend as well as fresh ingredients and signature sauce on top. We also got their onion rings, which were fried and seasoned perfectly.
