I have been here 2 times in the last 4 months. This place is a hidden jam. The food was great, the staff accommodating. The atmosphere is light and airy. They have an extensive menu then they have a GF or for those not in the know GLUTEN FREE options. That menu is as extensive as the "plain" menu. Eat you'll love whatever you have. What a home run. It was my wife's birthday. I let her choose the place. She is gluten free. She had read a bunch of good things about this place on Facebook and wanted to give it a try. Place is small, but it was a quiet Tuesday evening. Server was great. First thing she asked us was if anyone had any allergies or any food restrictions. I have some close friends and family who struggle with celiac disease and this place is above and beyond accommodating for them and their restrictions. Speciality coffees are super yummy too. *Cash recommended! My friend and I went to Park Avenue Grill because it came up highly rated for gluten-free friendly restaurants. This place was definitely popping! We arrived around 12:30pm on a Sunday, and we had to wait 10 minutes for a table. They will put you on the waitlist and will text you when your table is ready. The interior is cozy and reminded me of a bed and breakfast. If you pay in cash, you only need to pay the menu prices, which is why I recommended cash over card. We both ordered strawberry lemonade, which was refreshing, but the strawberry flavor took away from the tanginess of the lemonade. I ordered the Country Omelet ($18) and my friend ordered some type of gluten-free tacos that were on the specials menu. The food was terrific!! For me, I got my omelet with fruit instead of home fries. The toast had the perfect amount of butter, and the omelet was flavored well and all the meats were juicy. My friend also completely cleared her plate, and did not have a gluten-attack after we ate here. The only reason that I did not give Park Avenue Grill 5 stars is because of the way I got treated in the restaurant. The waitress would not look at me and would only address my friend. I felt a little weird, but I did not want to read into it. It was my friend who brought up that the waitress completely ignored me. When the bill was brought, they also handed it directly to my friend. It was like I did not exist. I can see if I did not speak English or was rude to the staff, but that was not the case. So at the end of the day, it just felt slightly racist. We shared an order of gluten-free churro waffle bites that were amazing and delicious I had an order of Pumpkin Apple crumb pancakes and they are the best pancakes I have ever had! So yummy. Was here today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised...a nice vibe to the place, the food was presented nicely and flavored very well, I had the churro waffle bites with Nutella and bananas, they were NOT stingy with the Nutella and that is a GOOD thing - the creme brulee latte was also good - the french toast was very tasty, eggs cooked well and the home fries (more like roasted potatoes) were yummy - service was great - was really surprised they asked about food allergies, that was AWESOME because I suffer from Alpha Gal Syndrome and am allergic to mammal meat - A+ for that and also an A+ for dog friendly service (outside seating) - they even have a dog menu - so cool! My wife and I have been coming to the Park Ave., Grill for the past 10 years always had a great experience. The food was always good. But last Saturday was anything but good. I had ordered an espresso martini black when I got my drink. It had baileys in it I didn't say anything at first, but when the waitress came over to find out how our drinks were, I told her it was supposed to be black. There's Bailey's in there. You would think she would ask me if I wanted another changed to the correct drink, she did not 10 minutes after we received our drinks. Six children around the ages of six and eight years old, came into the restaurant and sat at a table with no adults. Turns out the adults that were with those children were sitting by the door waiting to be seated so they let their children run to the restaurant and be loud disrupt the restaurant, and all the customers that were sitting there you would think that the waitress would say something so the kids sat in a table, screaming yelling, laughing, and the adults that were with them was sitting in the waiting area that went on for 15 minutes before they seated all of them. Then the food came my wife had ordered a turkey Panini, which is always very good but this time it was a large piece of plastic in her sandwich. She pulled it out of her mouth. The plastic was about an inch and a quarter long, we showed it to the waitress. We put it in a napkin and she took it in the back now my wife can't eat the rest of her sandwich. I stopped eating immediately. I could not finish my food without my wife eating you think that they would ask if she wanted another sandwich, they did not at that point we were completely aggravated. I asked for the bill I put my credit card with the bill. It was on a clipboard and then all of a sudden the owner came over now. I've had conversations with him over the past 10 years always good but this time I told him what was going on with the drinks the food he said sometimes that happens you can get something in your food. It could be a bone. He said well we took the two drinks off, even though neither one of us had our Dinner then his attitude changed. He got very nasty. He took my credit card off the clipboard, threw it on the table and said to my wife and I in front of other people who were watching what was going on because he made a spectacle of himself and said we do not serve people like you. I have never experienced anything like that in my life as we got up to leave this gentleman sitting in the table next to us with his wife said to us in front of other people do you need representation because that was terrible?
