This is our second time coming to this location as we work about 15 minutes away in Northport. We usually plan a lunch here week in advance. Then look forward to it all that week. FIVE GUYS is definitely a treat. We definitely cannot eat there every week, but once a month is doable. On this day we went during lunch around 1230 on a Friday. Not busy at all. We were met by three ladies on the wait staff-professional, efficient and smiling. While the menu is varied, we always go for the burgers. I had the bacon cheeseburger. I think I read it was over 1000 calories like I said, once a month is doable. The fries are delicious!! Hot, just the right amount of salt. We both got the small and even that was a lot!!! My colleague said, while eating, "I've never had a bad burger here." I have to agree. Absolutely worth the 21$ spent. Of course their signature peanuts are stacked in bags at the entrance. They can serve as appetizers and conversation starters while waiting for one's order. But, in our experience, ur not waiting long. The restaurant is airy and bright. I must say this is an impressive Five guys on the island. I've been to many and I often come for lunch. I've been frequenting this particular location for a few years now going on eight years. The staff is always happy and attentive, which is rare to find these days because everyone doesn't wanna work, but here it doesn't show. I usually get a double cheeseburger with jalapeños , Barbecue sauce and hot sauce. I'll pair it with a large strawberry milkshake, which taste like heaven on earth. I highly recommend coming with the family if you're looking for a cheap, healthy selling, and tasty treat. It will definitely impress you, especially within the current economy. Burgers and fries I've never had the opportunity to try Five Guys until today and it was an interesting experience. The place is visually strange. At first, it looks like there are piles of supplies everywhere, but then you realize that they are boxes of peanuts. I don't know, it just seems odd to have them sitting out where the tables are in the middle of the dining room. I went with a small cheese burger and fries and a regular soda. The poor girl behind the counter was obviously suffering from ADD as I had to repeat myself a few times for each item. Not sure if she was just dopey, couldn't hear, or was whacked out on smoke, but it got a little old after a few times. The soda dispenser machine is tres cool and I had fun playing with that for a few minutes. I grabbed a few peanuts and grabbed a seat to wait for my burger. At the time, there were exactly TWO other tables in there and both were almost completely done with their meals (remember this). Now having had the opportunity to repeat my entire order like 4 times to the girl at the register, and her handing me my ticket with my number on it; I felt the need to make a joke before heading off to the soda machine, "that really, I doubted it would be hard to figure out whose order it was". My theory was simply based on the fact that I was basically the only living thing at the register ordering something. So a few minutes into my soda and peanuts and I hear the same register girl standing there calling out my number. She is looking all over the place as if she could not possibly figure out just exactly who could have placed this order? I almost thought she was messing with me but you could see that when I walked the FIVE feet from where I was sitting to her, it was as if she had never seen me before... I want whatever that chick is taking recreationally! Burger was very good, the hand-cut fries were a little overcooked I felt, but good nonetheless. Kudos for the malt vinegar bottles available on the counter. A nice touch and one I really enjoyed. Summing up, better than average burger, good fries and a cool high-tech soda machine. If consistency in a meal wherever you go is important to you, then look no further for an excellent burger. I get the craving for red meat about twice a year and when I do, I am so happy there is a Five Guys on the horizon. Always clean and well lit, the efficiency they have in a proven system and their restaurants is remarkable. Customizable in a gazillion different ways, these burger have little competition in the real world. There might be one or two places in the country that can rate with the burger heaven that is created here. Each time I have tried the Five Guys burgers, they have been hot, juicy, and just the way I ordered them. The french fries are always overflowing and taste even better with the malt vinegar available. The help is always energetic and friendly. This location I can say the staff is friendly , the food is good the fries are alway fresh and the tables are actually always clean. I had the strawberry shake for the first time I loved it ! I normally give FGB&F a minimum of 4-stars just because I absolutely love the food. And the same goes for this location, in fact, the burger I got here probably had the largest amount of toppings of any FGB&F. And as my friend Matthew pointed out, it does have a very cool futuristic soda machine, I got Iced Tea from the brewing thing which was not dispensed from the modern thing but I filled my girlfriend's Diet Coke and had fun doing it. Anyways, the reason for the 3-stars is because this location was filled with screaming children between the ages of 4 and 13. I'm not sure if it's located near a karate school or something, but family after unruly family kept strolling in, and I literally had to scream to my girlfriend to hear our own conversation. Horrible online ordering experience. Even after unchecking what I did NOT want on my veggie cheese sandwich and checking the THREE things I WANTED, my sandwich came home wrong. They made it THEIR way, yet on my receipt it clearly says what I ordered. I will never order from there again. It was pathetic hearing multiple times "That's the way it comes." This place can make a burger! They have a great staff, wide variety of drinks, and it is not any more expensive than a decent meal at mcdonalds or Burger King. For around the same price, you get high quality ingredients and fresh potatos and fresh meat. I came here several times, even the district manager stops by the customer' table and will ask the customer how the food is. Definitely a competitor for mcdonalds and Burger King, and healthier because the ingredients are fresh ingredients. Just don't eat too much, it is still fast food. Five Guys burgers are so good that I used to drive 15 minutes to the spot in Hauppauge just to get my fix. So needless to say, I was pretty fired up when Five Guys opened up in Commack. Yes, the food is greasy, it's a bit expensive and it's a guaranteed 10 minute wait for your order - even if you're the only person there - but perfection cannot be rushed. And that's exactly the word I'd use to describe their burgers...perfect. Everything is cooked right there in front of you when you order it, they offer a wide array of toppings and their fries are some of the best you'll ever have. There's a sign on the wall telling you where they got the potatoes to make their fries from, which is a cool touch I think. They even have huge barrels of peanuts that you can scoop out and snack on while you wait for your order...free of charge. If you've never eaten at Five Guys, make sure your terminology is on point. What I mean is, if you want a regular sized burger, it's important that you ask for a Little Burger (which is actually bigger than a regular sized burger from BK or Micky D's). If you don't clarify and you just ask for a burger, you're gonna wind up with a double patty monster burger (imagine a Whopper or a Big Mac on steroids). They also give an obscene amount of fries which always spill out of the extra large cup they come in. That's why although it's a bit pricey, the portions are super-generous. Ever since Five Guys has opened up shop in Commack, I haven't even considered stepping foot in McDonald's, BK or Wendy's. read more

I made the mistake of getting a large and they hand me a brown bag with the large and what looks like three more larges dumped in the bag! That's all we were able to eat for supper my wife and I! Only knock is you have to ask for your dipping sauces and it gets annoying when you have to keep getting up and I don't think the staff appreciates it either. Very similar to all the other burger places in the area. Its very simply a good burger. Nothing great, but a good burger. Standard burger is a double patty with all toppings included at no extra cost. The only problem I had with the burger was that the bun doesnt stand up to the toppings and the grease of the burger. If you get grilled onions or mushrooms the liquid from the toppings turns the bun to mush. You end up eating a mushy burger that falls apart. Fries are better than many of the similar burger places but they are still just good fries. Nothing outstanding, but good fries, however be aware while good, they are very greasy and fried in peanut oil. read more

Five Guys is my favorite burger place. This location was OK. The service can be better. I stood there waiting to ask for a side of sauce with the workers looking at me not asking if I needed anything. They weren't busy besides checking orders and shaking the fries. I had to get someone's attention and then he passed me off to someone else. The sauce was empty in both bottles, which should be stocked under the table (I used to work at a different location) in case the bottles up top run out. So I had to wait for her to go to the back to get more. Nothing serious but an annoyance because I work in the food industry and know better. read more
