I've never eaten five guys before until today. This place really hypes up their burgers for you as soon as you walk into the door. You'll notice all these wall decors talking about how amazing their burgers are "best burger of 20xx", "top 10 must each restaurant in xx city". I'm surprised that this is a chain restaurant? I feel like I'm walking into a local gem or something. I was pretty impressed by their burger. It's funny they have "little burgers" which basically is our regular burger with one patty. Their standard of regular burger is two patties. I always get "protein style/bunless" burgers when I eat at fast food restaurants. I have to say, five guys probably has the best bunless burgers I've eaten at fast food chains. I especially love how they have the option to add grilled mushrooms and other unlimited toppings (For those that love veggies). I really want to like this place because when it's running well their burgers are amazing and worth it. But again, another visit left disappointed. Wait staff friendly and prompt. The reason it's not good this time is not the high cost, which as I said can be worth it when good, but iceberg lettuce that was actually frozen ruined it for me. My entire burger experience was mushy texture as lettuce melted into the bread, and spent the rest of meal picking extremely over chilled lettuce off my burger. I'm not squawking for a refund as I ate the whole thing, but I think this is my last visit here. Back to SMASHBURGER, Shack Shack and Elevation Burger. This place is a go to for a good burger. Not too expensive and tastes great! I love how many toppings you can put and how it's not extra. Everything is always cooked well. Ah, Five Guys. We've finally made our introductions. I made my way here on Friday night and was surprised to find the space teeming with people. Located the line, took a quick look at their menu and ordered a bacon cheese hot dog and a bacon cheeseburger. For the record: bacon and cheese own me. Also: Did not notice their add-ons until too late. Ah, well. So anyway, after a short wait, my bacon-cheese meal was delivered. Instead of being normal and grabbing a table, I hopped in my car and proceeded to eat in the dark. You love my pictures' quality, right? Thought so. So their hot dog was pretty fantastic, but their burger was just eh. Don't people love their burgers? No idea. Nonetheless, I didn't, and if I returned after work one day, I'd definitely just grab a hot dog and maybe some fries. Maybe next time, I'll decide to sit at a table. read more

For Five Guys being a chain burger joint , this is probably the best fast food joints out there. I and we all know when someone says fast food we all think of the worst, too many calories, too much grease, I shouldn't be eating these types of foods, but yet I will substitute my gluttony with a diet coke. I've been coming here a few times seeing it is about a 1/4 mile away from my job, so far it is not bad . The customer service here is good its pretty much simple ordering if you ask me. You ask for what you want and how you want and badda boom you got it . We all know of 5 guys so I will try to keep it simple , and for those who don't know about this place go in ... give a whirl. Great place to get a burger or a dog, and why is it nobody ever talks about their dogs? They cut that little guy in half, place it on the grill and nothing taste better than a dog that's been grilled. Myself I will mix it up every once in a while, from the bacon cheese burgers (regular ones, not that junior non sense) . I'd go with two dogs with cheese, bacon, grilled and raw onions, couple shots of ketchup with cajun fries. Winner in my book, along with their tasty burgers (with bacon of course) Best thing also is when your order is ready it is given to you in a brown bag with added fries over top of your order. Erhmgawd. I thought I had to trek into Center City to enjoy Five Guys but now I have found this location in the Plymouth Meeting area. Located in a relatively quiet shopping center, it has ample parking and the same yummy food. Would totally pay the tolls of the turnpike instead of trying to go downtown. I like this location because it is clean, perky, and the efficient. The older gentleman taking our order joked "You're number 88. If you cant remember that just remember that it's my age". He was quite jolly and that is refreshing to see in a fast food worker. I recommend the jr size bacon cheese burger with all the fixings...afterall you only live once. My family and I had the worst experience today. To begin we ordered, and paid for the order. The cashier handed me my change and told me they didn't have any pennies so they were shorting me. This location is just meh on a great day. So imagine how it is during the Covid-19 Pennsylvania shelter-in-place. Go ahead think about it and let that soak in for a minute. Online ordering is interesting to begin with when it comes to Five Guys. Fast forward ... I arrive at the location to pick up my online order. I go to the pick up counter and identify who I am and I am am there; and I am told I have to go to the register. I wrangle over to the register to be told I have to to the pick up counter. No big deal. So back at the pick up counter once again tell them who I am and I need to pick up my order. (Keep in mind there are people in off the street who have just placed their order during all of this ... remember this for later). The manager looks at me like a deer in the headlights. I see there are two brown bags on top of the fryer -- so I ask if one of them is, possibly, mine. The employee tells me no my order is not ready yet. (Keep in mind I drove 15 minutes to get to five guys and set the time of pick at the time I arrived at the location). Five minutes go by, ten minutes go by, fifteen minutes go by ... I approach the pick up counter again and ask: Where is my order? No response. Then, this is my favorite part, the gentleman who placed his order when I was first attempting to pick my up is being given his order. At this point I am starting to get really irritated. I ask for the manager -- low and behold -- it's the employee I originally spoke to ... turns out one of the bags on top of the fryer IS INDEED my order. Now they have to make my fries (standard five guys procedure to make them when you arrive). I ask for the burgers to be remade as they have been sitting for over twenty minutes at this point. The manager says no. I ask for a refund. What does he do you ask -- he turns his back to me and acts as though I'm not standing there speaking at him. Meanwhile, there are seven people working and a few of them are yelling and joking about jump shots. You get what you pay for with employees earning only $10/hour. The bottom line is -- this location has processes issues and managers who are kids with no concept of other people's time and/or money. If you are contemplating purchasing from this location -- don't --- just keep going down the street to the Plymouth Meeting Mall or the Metroplex Mall and find something better. Don't get me wrong, the burger was great. The service here just sucks. I walked in at about 4pm, with nobody in line. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a coke. With the restaurant almost vacant, and more employees sitting at tables than guests, it took almost 20 minutes for my order. An order which cost $15.34, by the way. I almost walked out when I saw the prices, I regret not doing so. If the market supports those prices for a bacon cheeseburger and a 20 minute wait, so be it. But I'm not in that market anymore. I don't like writing bad reviews, but this is the 3rd time I've been to this location and have had to wait around forever for a grossly overpriced burger. Five guys is a solid burger with the toppings you choose. I'm not the biggest fan of their burger, but it's a lot better than other places when it's done right. Their fries have always been so inconsistent to me. Sometimes it's really good and crunchy, other times they are soggy. The last time we ate at this location it just didn't seem like a complete meal. The fountain sodas weren't working that well. The fries were just bad and the burger was a bit more oily than usual. Still, other times it has been much better. I think its that everyone is trying to be " lean and healthy" and everyone once in a while 'Meg'(standard culdesac name) likes to chow down on some PURE GREASE. Me? I try to go at least 3 times a week for a quick bacon burger, but only add the seasoned fries. No need to waste money on the regular droopy dog fries if they aren't going to have any taste. This particular location is the one a frequent the most because the location is convenient for both work and home. Some side notes: -A hamburger/cheeseburger has 2 meat patties while the 'little' hamburger and cheeseburger have 1. You will not be disappointed with the 'little' burger unless you have been fasting for a week straight. -The regular size fries portion is plenty for 2 people because they always dump more in the brown bag. They do not restrict the quantity to the cup size. -If you order fries get the cajun fries. -They have a new-age/fancy soda machine. -Peanut allergy = STAY AWAY! There are peanuts everywhere at all locations. This place is not good for you! -Staff is always friendly and efficient. No short of military training during food preparation especially on busy Friday and Saturday nights. Besides for during serious road trip situations, I generally abstain from fast food. But every now and then, a craving builds up inside me and there's really no satisfying it without the help of a greasy, artery-clogging cheeseburger. Enter Five Guys. As a younger chain, they haven't done anything yet to make me despise them, the way other spots like Mickey D's have. Before visiting yesterday, I discovered an "order online" function on their website, which was nice because I like plenty of condiments and usually worry about things being accidentally left off when I order in person. When I arrived ten minutes later, I told the cashier I'd ordered ahead, and she shouted, "Thomas is here!" A response came from the kitchen, again, "Thomas is here!" They had our burger buns set up with their respective condiments, and didn't add the burger until I'd arrived. And sure enough, all our condiments were correct. They sure made me feel important. My bacon cheeseburger was a sloppy, delicious mess of a meal, incredibly unhealthy but just what I was looking for. The fries were soggy and unappetizing but I ate them anyway.
