My fiancé saw their Detroit style pizza on social media and we made a trip that weekend to try it…read more Since we had never been here we'd didn't know the layout or what to expect. We were there on a Saturday early afternoon and it was crowded which I expected. We walked into the bakery end which has some tables and chairs and tons of baked goods to enjoy there or to go. There is a dining room in the middle of the bakery and pizzeria. After walking through that room we were where we wanted to be. There were some tables and chairs in the pizzeria which was good and we grabbed the last available table. You order at the counter. We knew we wanted to cheesesteak Detroit style pizza. The pizza was worth the ride! So so good!! We look forward to going back!

Tons of seating in the back, prompt service from what seems like high schoolers and college students on their break. The walls are absolutely maxed out with photos of various news, sports, and other cultural icons. We had one of the Detroit-style pizzas and a salad. Pizza was solid-- don't think I'd have this every day for fear of a severe downturn in my health, but when it comes to game days or just a dinner with the guys, I'd totally make my way over here if I could (I can't but I wish I could). Ordering happens from the counter. Food comes out pretty promptly. Staff are friendly, even letting us stay a bit longer past the closure of the main dining area so we could finish up. Overall-- stop by for a unique experience here in PA.

My friends tavern is the bar . If you're looking for a true dive bar experience go to ALEX'S Tavern. You'll get that real deal casual dive atmosphere with dignity authenticity and respect . Not this absolute disaster of business. Within my first 4 mins I got screamed at by the scary bartender Lisa, who clearly hates her job. Lisa, why are you in the service industry ? 0/10 worst customer service experience of my life. I was getting screamed at by Lisa the bartender for asking if I could smoke outside , while she openly welcomed and served a highly intoxicated customer who drunk drove to her bar. Kinda scary that this is the university's neighborhood bartender . All you had to do was say NO Lisa. Good thing I have common sense and could hear your attitude the moment you stopped pretending to be kind . This was such an outrageous outburst I have zero doubt this was the first time. All the guys seem entertained by her and she certainly put on a nice show to the guest she served who was already highly intoxicated. Lisa if you hate women, yourself or your job, just say that. As a bartender myself I saw you commit enough violations within the 5 minutes of you screeeeching at me .... to lose your opportunity to ever serve alcohol. I'm glad you did not steal my $60 tip . The man across the street needed that money much more than you. You see how You're evil spirit and malicious intent was immediately converted into a positive , pay-it-forward type situation. It's never too late to evolve. Say no to alcohol , kids. It's the worst socially normalized drug out there.

During my visit, a fellow patron singled me out after I mentioned my profession, openly criticizing me, telling me I should be ashamed, and declaring that I wasn't welcome. This wasn't an isolated incident -- I have encountered hostility from this same individual before. The bartender intervened to keep the peace, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, rather than putting an end to the tension, the situation continued to escalate as other patrons joined in with mocking comments. I ultimately felt so uncomfortable that I began recording the interaction for my own protection. No customer should feel targeted, ridiculed, or unwelcome while visiting an establishment they have supported on multiple occasions. While I understand that staff can only do so much, I hope management will take a closer look at the environment they are fostering and ensure that all patrons are treated with basic dignity and respect. I'm sharing this so others can make informed choices and, more importantly, in the hope that it prompts meaningful change.
