Taste itself wasn't bad, but the experience made this a no-repeat. Deceptive 'Have-A-Burger' promotion through Uber Eats. Uber Eats confirmed HAB was 100% responsible for the promotion and promotion details. ISSUE ONE: DECEPTIVE MARKETING Uber Eats Promotion: BOGO Burger for $7.49. We decide to give it a try, never heard of Have-A-Burger. The business is located in an ice skating ring, think an expanded snacks counter. When placing the order through Uber Eats, there is a required selection for burger type, each option with an add-on price...no way to proceed without add-on pricing. This means that the BOGO Burger is really only BOGO Roll and Lettuce. There is NO WAY to check out with any Burger BOGO at the advertised price, 100% impossible. That is issue #1, and Uber Eats allows any vendor to write up anything and zero enforcement so restaurants can write up anything they want...totally allowed and zero consequences. $7.49 BOGO clocks out at minimum price $14.49, as if two burgers would be close to $30.00. ISSUE TWO: WHERE'S THE BEEF? Swear if you hold up the burger to the window you will see daylight. I haven't seen a burger this thin in my life. It was so thin it caught our attention because of how thin it was...again taste was ok but nothing there. ----- We were rather discussed and will not repeat. Love this place for a quick burger fix, don't discount it because it's in a skating rink and may smell a bit like a locker room at times. I've been here several times and always had a good experience. Burgers are thin and cooked well, not your restaurant style burger which tend to be thicker patties. I normally get 2 as they aren't big. I go with American, lettuce, raw onion, ketchup and mustard. Fries were good too, very crisp and well battered. They also have some stuffed burgers which I've never tried. Next in my list is the bacon cheeseburger. Haven't had a shake but I'm mostly off dairy these days. I was craving a really good burger, only cuz the In N Out pangs we're hitting. If you've had an In N Out burger out west, then you know. Pretty extensive menu - something for everyone! We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, peppers on the side. Huge portion, moist and delicious. Great, fresh onion rings. Loved my Caesar wrap - the dressing has a nice tang. Added the hot peppers for a little zip. Oh - and they serve Pepsi products- yay! The only downside is the parking is confusing- you have to park on the street (right next to the place). We just did a couple of u-turns and it was fine. Ordered for takeout and found everything to be really good. Ordered 2 single patty burgers with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onions. Also, an "our own" burger which is more specialty ie sauce etc. In addition 2 orders of fries and an Oreo milkshake. All really good, just as I would expect burgers to be. This is in kind of a weird location, but it's worth a stop in. At the very least you can people-watch since there's a big window overlooking the Skatium ice rink they're attached to. Their burgers are very affordable, and they have a wide variety including 'stuffed-burgers' to choose from. Their fries are also pretty good, crispy and fresh. After really trying doctors appointment, I needed comfort food. This place is attached to a funky hockey rink, the parking is crazy but the food speaks for itself. I live close enough to as many greasy burger and fry places, this is not one of them. I'm not sure of the origin but they have been here for a while. The staff are very quick and friendly. I placed my order online to get in and out faster than having to wait behind a bunch of hockey kids and their entire families. The value is worth it. Ordered a simple grilled cheese sandwich from here because I was tired of looking for something to eat at this point--I expected the sandwich to be cold and soggy by the time it reached me but surprisingly it wasn't and I really enjoyed it! My only recommendation would be to incorporate maybe some beyond or impossible meat products for those who prefer plant based meats. read more

Here's a burger joint SIZZLING with potential smack dab in the middle of Havertown, PA! Came here expecting frozen and microwaved food because it was inside a skating rink, but nope! I was pleasantly surprised. To start, the location is really quite cool. It's awesome to look at the hockey practices while munching on a burger; props to you for that, H.A.B! Anyways, I ordered the "Our Burger" with a side of fries. The order took about 25 minutes to come to my table, fairly quick for a burger that was made from scratch. Burger: tasty, but nothing to write home about. The onion ring was crispy and not soggy. Bacon was crispy as well and had a good smoky flavor! The patties, I'm sure, were also hand-pressed as well. Veggies were fresh. Fries: They were fries. Crispy and salty, like a fry should be. A little boring. I'm giving this joint a 3-star because of the atmosphere. I saw lots of families going in and out of practices. This is a perfect place to capitalize on a family friendly vibe! Get some Cartoon Network on the TV and get some 80's-90's music going! I have not been to their physical location yet, but I have ordered through Grubhub, and compared to some experiences I have had, they have been great. Our last order was organized, accurate and tasty. We even ordered milkshakes and they were to our house in no time. I had a night on my own in Drexel Hill, so I turned to Yelp. I wanted something simple and tasty that I could pick up and bring back to where I was staying. Have-A-Burger turned out to be the ticket. The place is no-frills -- the one-time snack bar at an indoor ice skating rink. If someone else on Yelp hadn't mentioned this in their review, there is no way I would have found it. I kept it simple -- a burger (I believe there namesake burger) and onion rings. All very good. My only complaint is that the bun could have been a bit more sturdy. Things got a bit messy. Had a great experience with Have-A-Burger. At work (an office employing 35+ hungry people), we had a catering order scheduled for this morning from a competitor burger joint. I received a call around 9:30, when I got in, from the catering company explaining that the original order could not be made because their phone calls weren't being answered. In bit of a panic, because I was in charge of lunch, I called Have-a-Burger based on the recommendation from the catering company. I was a little upset about the original, but with all of my skepticism, Have-A-Burger really delivered (pun intended). They were a little bit late (about 25 minutes), but personally, I always give a 30 minute window for delivery before I get upset. Food arrived, was still hot, was of good quality, and everybody at the office was extremely satisfied. Of the three orders - two were correct and one was a double cheeseburger, the fries are fantastic and that's probably why I don't complain. For the location and the price, you can't beat it. So glad I found this place on Grub Hub! These burgers are nice and juicy as burgers should be. They may not look fancy, but don't be fooled, this is probably one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Their prices are pretty reasonable as well- most burgers range from about $4-$7, depending on the kind you get. The portions of fries and onion rings are great-usually I split with my boyfriend. The fries were just okay to me, but the onion rings were what really stood out. Nice and crisp, and still tasty the next day. Do yourself a favor, and treat yourself to a milkshake. I ordered from Have-a-Burger a few weeks ago and then wrote a very brief, three-star review of three days ago in which I said that "if this is your idea of a great burger, you really need to try some other burgers." Today I received a call from the restaurant apologizing for my experience and asking for more detailed feedback. I wasn't really expecting the call and wasn't able to say anything particularly useful at the time, but I really do appreciate when businesses reach out to customers and when they try to improve, so here is my more detailed review. It's still 3-stars. If you think your burgers are better than what I experienced on my first try, though, I'd be willing to take you up on your offer. Just shoot me a PM. So here's the deal: I had had a long week with more than a few skipped meals and I really wanted to binge. I wanted a lot of really decadent food with a ton of calories and I didn't want to go out to get it. You had a four-star rating. There were a few reviews that said you had really great burgers. One called you a "hidden gem." If there was some possibility that there was a place nearby that delivered really good, really affordable burgers, I'd be really interested in that. So I placed an order. STUFFED BURGER: First, let's talk about your burger. In my first review I said that it wasn't as good as Five Guys. I'll take that back. The patty itself probably was as good as Five Guys', since you're doing pretty much the same thing. Cooking the hell out of pre-formed patties that are too thin and too tightly packed in order to get "juicy, well-done burgers." I'm guessing that you're also pressing them into the griddle, but maybe I'm wrong. That's not how you make a really great burger. You make a really great burger with loosely packed, hand-formed patties that are a good bit thicker than yours so that you can get a variation of cooks on the burger. A really great burger, of course, can be ordered medium-rare. But a really great burger probably costs quite a bit more than you're charging. I wasn't expecting a really great burger. You still could have hit it out of the park if you had nailed the execution. An example of a place that does that pretty reliably is Ruby's Diner--you can't order a burger medium-rare, and it's not amazing, but everything comes together. You didn't do that. First, the whole "stuffed aspect." Your website says "HOME OF THE STUFFED BURGER: COME EXPERIENCE IT." It's not much of an experience because there's no coherent center to your burgers. It's all just kind of smushed together. I'm not actually sure you can make a proper stuffed burger with a Five Guys-style patty, but maybe I'm wrong. Then there were the toppings. They were all just ok. The onion ring was forgettable. I don't remember if the mushrooms were canned or if they were just really bland. The hot peppers tasted like they came out of a huge jar. I mean, it wasn't bad. I ate it all. If I were at the Skatium and had that burger, I'd definitely say "Hey, that's a much better burger than I expected." It's not an experience. CHEESE FRIES: The cheese fries were pretty unremarkable. The fries seemed frozen (maybe they just needed seasoning?) and the cheese is wiz. They tasted a lot like what I expected cheese fries at the Skatium to taste like. MILKSHAKE: I appreciate that you're willing to deliver milkshakes, and it came in pretty good shape, but I once more felt that you were selling something a notch above what you were delivering. I ordered a "salty caramel" shake, which sounds delicious. It also sounds like a milkshake made with salted caramel ice cream. But then you made me select a chocolate or vanilla as a base and gave me a chocolate shake with some vague caramel flavoring. To be honest, I felt like there were a few better options available for a binge like this. Ruby's would have been one. Sabrina's would have been another. Both of those places are a little more expensive than you, though. Which is why I gave you 3 stars. You're a-ok. read more

I'm really surprised the reviews are so good for this place since it really is nothing more than an below average to average burger joint. I had a stuffed burger and it was not only burnt but completely flavorless. Fries were also really bland and undercooked so maybe they just need to work on training their cooks. Considering their elaborate menu and above average reviews I was expecting way better than a typical fast food place but this place really is in the same category as Mcdonalds, but much more expensive. Maybe some of the other stuff on the menu is better but considering the word burger is in the name I figured that would be their specialty. read more

The best bacon cheeseburgers EVER! Their milkshakes are the BEST. I ordered from this restaurant last week through Uber eats. The delivery was prompt, food was hot and milkshakes still intact. I live about 30-45 minutes away. Their menu for burgers allows you to add a number of delicious toppings without having to add in special instructions. A good variety of milkshakes to order is another plus. I highly recommend HAV-A-BURGER. It's now one of the top places I will order my food. read more

Big fan of this place. Only discovered it on Yelp, otherwise I wouldn't have known about it cause it's on the inside of the Skatium (side entrance). Obviously this is the place to grab a bite if you're watching a hockey game or practice but I've found myself ordering pickup for dinner many times here. It's convenient, fast, and the burgers are quite good. Obviously not the healthiest food (burgers and fries, what do you expect), but I do think it's the best fast burger in Havertown, hands down. Also the family that runs it is super nice and they'll always greet you when you come in. Really disappointed. The order took longer than they said by 20 minutes. The food was simply awful. The burgers must of been cooked in a deep fryer for the 20 minutes I was waiting. They were so overcooked they were crispy all the way through. Flavor had been completely cooked out. It was supposed to be an our burger but there was no sauce. The bun was even cooked. No sauce. I have been here a handful of times now so think I can give a pretty good assessment of it. I have had the burgers, fries and cheese steak so far and all of these things were up to snuff. The burgers were very tasty, not huge but also not expensive either so I was more than happy. The vegies on them seemed fresh and crisp."A" rating on the burgers. The Cheese Steaks, and I do consider myself a Cheese Steak Expert, were not the best I have had but were at least as good as or better than what 90% of the pizza and sandwich shops in the area. I tried Have-A-Burger for the first time a couple months back. I wanted to love this place since I have heard good things and it is close to my house. Unfortunately, I found it to be just okay. It is located in the side of the skatium. I ordered us dinner from here over the phone and went to pick it up. The wait was going to be 10-15 mins and I showed up when it was supposed to be ready. When I went up to the register, it seemed as if my order was never rung in. They didn't say that but it seemed obvious that is what happened. I waited more than another 10 minutes for my order. Not a huge deal, I may have just caught them on a bad day. We both had ordered burgers and fries. The fries were pretty good. They also have milkshakes, which I haven't tried. I had the bacon cheeseburger and my husband had one of the burgers stuffed with cheese. We both found our burgers to be good, but not great. They weren't bad at all we just found them to be a little bland and feel like there are a lot of burger places nearby that we like better. So, we have not been back but I would possibly give them another try if someone wanted to go there. This is my first review but Have-A-Burger is amazing. I have been there a few times. Last time my sister and I walked down and got it we had ordered take out then we went back to my house to eat it. We got in and set the food down and my sister realized that they forgot her burger. We went back and told the employees that we had ordered a burger and they forgot. The employees were so nice the gave us a free milk shake and a box of cookies (the burger too). Anyway there food is amazing and if you're a fan of milkshakes I would try there black and white it is delicious. The service has always been exceptional, so that alone would have been reason to write a review. But the food is always delivered hot and accurately, and they make a great burger. Their milkshakes are thick, even after being delivered. Really thick. Ordering online is a simple process and they allow you to modify your order. A fairly quick option. I often get a burger on a pretzel bun, which is a little denser than the standard bun. The portions aren't overly large, but they deliver value for the price. When I add all that together, I see Have-A-Burger as a nice options for a good burger and shake at a decent price. And, again, their customer service is always outstanding!
