I have been visiting 5 Guys since the chain appeared a few years ago. There is no fancy, fun, or crazy burgers here. It is the best alternative to fast food burgers. A personal point is I avoid all chain places and if it comes to "boutique" burgers there are many better choices. I wont bash this location or any 5 Guys they have a good ordinary burger and fries. This location is right near one of my customer sites and when I'm in a hurry I hit this place. The people working the joint are excellent, the place is always clean and since it's in a larger strip mall there is ample parking. read more

I feel like I'm going to get blasted for this review because all I ever hear about Five Guys is how much everyone loves it and how they can't wait to go back and OMG THE FRIES. Yes, much like their sales pitch says, it probably is the best burger you'll get for $5. One of them, for sure. But there wasn't really anything special other than a lot of options. And for everything being made fresh, it still just tasted like a better-than-the-rest fast food burger. The fries were okay, and I appreciate their commitment to quality ingredients by using whole potatoes and frying in peanut oil, but much like boardwalk fries, I seem to like them in theory, but when I actually start to eat them, they're never as crispy or satisfying as I would like. Mushy half-fried potatoes aren't worth the TONS of calories they'll put into my body... I'm not saying I'll never go back. For what it is, it's good. But I haven't eaten McDonalds or Wendy's or Burger King in a long time and while I'd definitely put Five Guys WAY above those three, it's still not good enough to make it worth sinking into fast food land for on a regular basis. Efficient and friendly cashier, clean dining area. Burger patty was wimpy. Tomato was fresh. Grilled onions and mushrooms included. The bun couldn't hold up all the condiments, very soggy. Cajun fries were a bit salty with a nice heat. read more

It's no In-n-Out but WAY better than McDonald's, BK, or Wendy. Yes it's pricier but you can at least be certain that you are eating beef and not a beef-like substance. The bacon cheeseburger is good artery-clogging comfort meal. Fries are either very good and fresh or soggy, depending on the batch. Service is usually very good and pretty efficient. The only downside is that all burgers are well-done. I tend to like mine medium-rare or medium but c'est la vie. read more

Love myself some Five Guys! Great place for a big Saturday lunch. Cannot go wrong with a bacon cheeseburger and some of the best fries known to man. I'll do lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, pickles, bbq, and hot sauce, with cajun fries please. Massive helpings. Fresh as can be. Awesome prices. And if that wasn't enough, they have the coolest soda dispenser on the market, the touch screen Coke machine! It took me years to try Five Guys, but that was a mistake on my end. I don't go looking for burgers too often, and I'm usually not in the market for fast casual, but on the rare occasion that I am, I do enjoy Five Guys. Burgers here are very good. I would put them at better than most places, but not as good as places like Spot burger, Bobby's, or Village Whiskey. I recommend the standard sized burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers, and pickles. The fries are also quite good, and they give you a lot extra by throwing an entire extra scoop in your bag for you. It's nice, too, that they give you peanuts to eat while you wait. The interior is pretty much ultra casual, no-frills burger joint. The black/white/red decor is evocative of the '50s diner aesthetic. Plenty of room in this location, but it does seem to get busy sometimes. The staff here is hit or miss. Some of the workers are exceptionally pleasant and others are less so, but I guess that is par for the course at most places. read more

I had 5 Guys in California and it was just ok there and knowing it's an East Coast thing, I thought maybe it would be better here and honestly, it's just ok out here too. The burgers are of a decent size and there's good flavor in the burger itself but it came across to me as a bit too greasy and honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the fries at 5 Guys. In my opinion, the best fries are served at In-N-Out, the waffle fries at Chick-fil-a, and Burger Bar, Las Vegas (sweet potato fries). If you're into the thick cut fries then this might be for you. I'm more into skinny fries but fries that are a bit more crispy than their thicker brethren. Service here is ok. The at the counter was not very helpful as he had not tried more than half of the menu (at least he was honest about it) and the place is clean. Maybe a bit too clean as some parts of the restaurant smelled of clorox. There's plenty of parking as it's a huge shared lot with the other stores in the plaza. Went in on Friday around 4:30pm and place was moderately busy. Only one cashier and one grill guy so a little backed up. I like the layout and the way you can order things like "all the way" and smaller portions are titled "little" I do however think it's ridiculous that for 2 burgers (one little one big) 1 drink and 1 regular fry it's about $22.00 I could have went to Applebee's or OutBack for that price for lunch. This five guys was greatly underachieving. First off, the service was abrupt and harsh. No customer service what so ever. There are greater options closer to me and cheaper. While the burger is halfway decent, it is overrated. My cheeseburger came out too well and not with the right selection of condiments. There really is minimal customization at five guys. The fries were excellent this time as I appreciate them a bit overcooked and usually they are well under-cooked and with way too much salt added. I've learned that you can ask for no salt and usually they deliver that way. The big problem with five guys, at least at this location, is the Service which continues to be poor except for this one older woman who seems to know what she's doing. The jive talking back-and-forth is not appreciated and it's actually an uncomfortable environment. Clean up your act guys. Use Chick-fil-A as a model. read more

Hair in food Okay so me and my wife stopped by while my car was getting worked on. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap and my wife got the little cheese burger with an order of small fries and a regular soda. The service was fast, the young lady at the register was friendly, and the food was fresh and hot. Only problem and it was disturbing to me and that was when I unwrapped my burger and got ready to eat. I didn't see it at first until my wife pointed out a long black hair sticking out from my burger. I am glad she said something before I ate it. The workers were helpful and threw that one out and made another one in which I appreciate that, but it still grossed me out. read more

As always Five Guys brings it. Because this location is on my way home from work it will take considerable discipline to avoid eating there every day. They've got a recipe that works and that's exactly what you get. Nothing special about this location except for it's close. It's clean, efficient, and delicious. Stopped in for a burger and fries. I used to eat here a few times a month since I had business meetings in the area. Service was good although prices are a bit high. My bill was $12.75 for a burger and lil fries. Burger was sloppy and the fries were off. As if they had not changed the oil or changed the seasoning mix. I'd stick to the other burger joints since they are cheaper and taste about the same. If I want a splurge burger I'll head over to Shake Shack. read more

A nice place to stop for a bite to eat in the White marsh area. I had an order of spicy fries which was out of this world. I get a kick out of the way they post the origin of the potatoes. Usually I have had a great overall experience at this chain coming from the west coast but after last nights incident on customer service I would never recommend coming to this specific location for a late night dinner to anyone. After happily taking the time to go out of my way and drive a good twenty minutes from the Lansdale area to grab a good burger with my fiancé after a hard days in the office we where turned away service roughly thirty minutes before the location was scheduled to close, in a very rudely fashion as "the grills where already cleaned for the night". Now personally I have experienced crappy customer service from the state of Pennsylvania as a whole every so often, more then usual from what I'm used to but this really set me off the edge with just how lazy a crew can be at a simple fast food chain. Now as stated before I'm not sure if its just the expectations brought forth in the area or just a string of bad luck, but I'd definitely reconsider later hour service practices. Five Guys is at the top of the fast food chain for several reasons. They offer fresh, delicious burgers, hot dogs and fries, and they have a decent selection of drinks, too. The spaces have a nice retro vibe, and the staff members are always friendly and helpful. For me, what really sets this establishment apart are the free toppings available on the sandwiches. And what takes that up a notch is when a particularly attentive server preps your burger perfectly, as David did at this Five Guys location. I typically order my cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms and ketchup. This can be a mess in the hands of an uncaring server. I have received some burgers with barely any toppings, and others where everything is on one side. But David carefully arranged the elements for perfect distribution on this burger, and ensured the bun was not smashed down in the wrapping process. It was one of the best fast food experiences I've had. Three cheers for Five Guys, and David! read more
