I wish I didn't give Five Guys a second chance. If I hadn't I wouldn't have realized that this fast casual burger joint serves up solid burgers and fries. I say fast casual because while the production line is efficient, you typically wait about 10 minutes for your food to be freshly made, similar to Smashburger. My order of a Little Cheeseburger and Little Fries is always fresh, hot and consistently made well. I have never had fries that have sat around. And the service is friendly. I am definitely a fan of Five Guys and it has become my "go-to" place when I want a no-frills burger and fries! read more

I had not been to a five guys in a couple years, but decided to drop in a couple weeks ago because this new location is right around the block. It was even more of ripoff than i remembered, and I was reminded why I stopped going here. This place has to be propped up by nostalgia driven east coasters just like the other east coast joke Dunkin Donuts. I visited at 8:30 PM and there were quite literally as many employees as customers- 7 total. Despite this, it took over 15 minutes to get a burger and fries. As far as selection, the topping bar is decent but not nearly as impressive as several other gourmet burger chains. They still one kind of cheese, which isn't even real cheese because it is American, also known as processed cheese food. How can a specialty burger chain not even offer cheddar or swiss??? The supposedly epic fries were another massive letdown. A small order used to be enough for two people. This time around i got a microscopic kids juice cup of fries with a topper of 9 fries thrown in the bag. To add to the insult, the fries were lukewarm and chewy. I asked what happened to the portions and the girl at the counter said "oh yah, they have cut down on the topper sizes". I asked for fresh fries because they looked so miserable and the portion was so small, and they upgraded me to a large to make up for it. Sadly, the large was what I had received as a small in the past. The burger itself was moderately juicy and virtually identical in size to Red Robin tavern double-pretty average. The flavor is fairly bland and the bun is a boring ho hum disintegrating pile of white bread. The real painful part is the crazy prices. For a boring cheeseburger and fries with no drink I had to cough up just shy of $11. This is not a buffalo bacon gouda gourmet wonder, it isn't cooked to order, it doesn't have real cheese, it is just a plain old $11 burger and fries. I can go to Red Robin and get an equally boring tavern double cheese burger with UNLIMITED fries for $7. Seriously five guys? Final verdict: Slow, mediocre, overpriced. One star for friendly staff and one star for the burger being edible. read more

Hands down the juciest, mouth watering hamburger in town. Fast and friendly service. Must try spot, especially for the summer time. Just a heads up. The little burgers are single patties. Love this place! It's like all the others, just a bit closer to home. The burgers are awesome, The fries are usually fantastic but they had way too much spice on them (chalking it up to new employees). The music is always great. We went there when it was very, very busy and they did a great job of getting our orders and getting people through the line. This is really great considering they just opened and are probably still in the learning curve. The entire restaurant was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Why isn't it 5 Stars? Like the other franchises, they keep the dining area too cold. This made the kids uncomfortably cold. I get that they probably do this to get faster turnover at the tables, but it bugs me that I have to hurry through my meal because my kids are cold. Cross contamination... My Husband and I went to dinner here and the food was great but way over priced. The store and restrooms were clean. It wasn't very busy and the staff was ver friendly. My only concern was that one employee was toasting the buns, putting new RAW burgers on the grill, flipping burgers, and preparing the burgers with the same pair of gloves. Luckily our food was prepped before he started helping. They need to train their staff about cross contamination. read more

Pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The girl at the checkout counter is incredibly friendly. She went out of her way to explain all the menu options to the family in front of me. Had to wait a bit long to order and then was told that the cooks took care of my drink and fries, knocking off the price by $10! A bit overpriced for a fast casual restaurant so definitely will be paying more than the average fast food joint. Burgers are good-watch out for extra seasoning on the Cajun fries. read more

We usually go to this place and load up. Double cheese with bacon and all the toppings and a large order of fries, which is enough to feed a family of four. That does 2 of us pretty good. Anyway, give the burger about 6 minutes to steam in the foil before unwrapping and chowing down. I've never been a fan of the fries. They always seem a bit soggy. The only way I can stomach them is with a healthy dollop of ketchup and a splash for malt vinegar. Overall, good clean place with friendly staff and quick service. read more

I had lunch at Five Guys. It's my second time there. First, the good. They have a pretty simple menu, they make fresh-cut fries, they have free peanuts, and all of the food is made fresh. I also appreciate the open kitchen. You can order whatever toppings you want for your burger, and there's a clearly-written list of available toppings on the menu. I have a couple of simple issues with this place. I had a bacon double cheeseburger, medium fries, and a large drink. It totaled just a little over $15.00. I probably could have ordered differently to spend less, but that seemed a little spendy for me. Next, I arrived at about 1:00, clearly after the lunch rush. I could not find a clean table, and for the time that I was there, I didn't see anyone in the dining room wiping or cleaning tables. The food quality was pretty good. The medium french fry is definitely for sharing. If I had it to do again, I would have ordered a small. It took about 5 or 10 minutes to make my order, but that just tells me that everything was fresh-cooked. The fries were hot, but they weren't all that crispy. This can happen with fresh-cut fries, but Good Times doesn't seem to have that problem. My wife doesn't like Five Guys. It's probably because of the cost. She prefers Freddy's which I also find to be a better value. It's worth a trip to five guys every once in a while for me, but I should expect to pay a little more and wait a little longer to get my food. Also, I'll stick to the small french fry because the medium was just too big. read more

Ive been to nearly 25 Five Guys nationally. I travel a lot for work and love to go to Five Guys as i know its always solid. This location on Broadway is hands down the best 1 i have ever been to. The staff are always pleasant and friendly. Their customer service, food delivery and manager Michael R is top notch. I always go to restaurants where we feel welcome and where the staff is friendly. I don't usually review restaurants unless they are really good or really bad. If you have eaten at a Five Guys before you can count on several things. Good burgers done to order, an abundance of fries in your bag, and clean facilities. 1 out of 3 isn't acceptable. The burger was good, as usual. The bathrooms were not clean or well kept and the toilet didn't flush - disgusting. I spent $120 plus a tip for food, fries, and drinks. I told my grandkids not to worry because Five Guys always gives you lots of fries. Our fries barely filled the cups and in one case didn't even do that. No extra fries at the bottom of the bag which is normal in the over 100 times I've eaten there. Disappointed grandkids and really dissatisfied grandpa. I won't return to this Five Guys, the owner obviously isn't interested in his customers and is focused on saving a few pennies instead of satisfying his customers. No napkins were out for customers, one ice machine filled your cup with ice while the other hardly worked. Avoid this place at all costs and help an owner that cares. read more

Holy crap Larry the manager is a effing a-hole. My family and I come here white frequently because we love love the burgers. We are usually treated/greeted, our burgers and shakes are on point. Our burgers were very cold, the fries were all undercooked & stuck together, the 4 gentlemen behind the counter has so much trouble w the shake machine, had to pull teeth for another one, didn't end up getting the shake! I mentioned this to the manager, his response was: if you have something to complain about-Call that number, (and pointed to the sign) I was shocked! He wasn't sympathetic, wasn't apologetic! Later told me he doesn't need my "rudeness" he's short handed, sooooo rude. He looked like he just crawled out of bed. His shirt was so nasty, not shaved, unbuttoned polo, he looked like a bum on the streets. We are BEYOND disappointed in the night. We will be contacting corporate, and HOPE Larry moves on from Five Guys because he was a disgrace to the company. read more

I have been going to five guys restaurants for as long as they've been around. I have been to five guys in several different states, and several different locations in each state. This location hands-down gave me the best overall customer service experience I've had in a five guys. I came in right before closing time, and generally when I do that, employees are usually dragging and very apparently just want to get out of work and go home. That was certainly not the case at this location. I was greeted with a very warm welcome from Patricia & Joelle. From the moment I walked in the door, They made me feel so welcome, that I asked to speak to Jose, the manager, to let them know how much I enjoyed the experience. The manager Jose was phenomenal, as was Patricia, Joelle, and Maria. Not only did they make my large fry and extra large, They were very welcoming and even engaged in very positive dialogue with my six-year-old daughter. This will be the only five guys I will be visiting from now on in Denver. Highly recommended, and If I could give it six stars I would. read more

Super pricey for a less than mediocre experience. Boxes of peanuts laying around that (even with the little paper bowl thing next to the box) seemed questionable whether or not they were supposed to be consumed or looked at along with giant sacks of potatoes.... Stored on whatever surface was off the floor... The trash can this time. At the end of the day I'd heard great things about the fries... The russet precut potatoes fried, greasy as hell and unsalted. Yum? And then 15mins later after listening to the empty room crickets chirping between the employees complaining about food waste, management and the lack of business effecting food prep I received a 10lb ball of unseasoned meat smothered in toppings with a bun in the foil. For $11. Haven't been back. I have bills and need an oil change and new work shoes and antiques and beanie babies that I would rather use the money on. read more

I never understand that not everyone likes the same thing in a hamburger...but I have to say that Five Guys hits my taste head on. I love their buns (soft and appropriate size for the patty) the meat is always perfect. I like mine plain...mustard and relish. Oh...and those fries! To me some of the best fries anywhere. Throw in that they have a good hot dog and my favorite new soda machine AND free peanuts! This is the dirtiest restaurant I've EVER been in. Eight tables were covered in peanut shells and napkins. There was a pile of crumbs and shells right by the register with a plastic glove right in the middle of it. The staff was very young and goofing around so it took longer than usual to get our order. The small fries used to be such a large order that we could share between 4 people. The last two times we have been there, it wasn't enough for 2 people to share. When we asked why it was such a small order, the manager said "That's the size of our small fries and walked away. When I Pay $4.02 for fries, I expect more than a size smaller that Burger King or McDonalds large fries. The people were rude and the prices too high. We went to this establishment on a Saturday and it was the first time I have been so I wasn't sure what to expect and did not have any expectations except that I wanted a good juicy burger. I ended up ordering a regular burger not realizing that it was a double stack. I still finished it but will do just fine with a small hamburger next time. I shared fries with my friend and it was freshly cut fries. The burger was juicy and I like the fact that it's not frozen and made to order with your choice of any toppings at no additional charge. The only disappointment would probably be that there are no combo meals or kids meals. You purchase everything separately and it can be rather pricey. Service was excellent, staff was friendly and came around and checked up on us and even gave us milk shake samples. I will be returning...like today! Yum! read more
