    Time to smash!!
    Ramone B.

The very first time I had five guys was at the Orland park location, and I wasn't very impressed. I visited the new location in Joliet, and I had a much better experience. I knew what to order this time! They have a wonderful iPhone app where you can order your food, and pay for it on your phone. All you do is walk in and pick it up! I loved that because I got to pick what I wanted on my burger without the pressure of standing in line. They don't pressure you to hurry and order here, but I didn't want to be that bitch that holds the line up! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and grilled jalapeños! It was soooo good! I do think that the burgers are on the small side. #DoBetter Do not order a large fry! A small is humongous!! Enough for two people!! I do think they need to have milkshakes. That just Seems to go hand in hand at a burger joint! Until next time.......

Good clean place. People are nice. Great burgers and fries. Expensive. Can only afford to eat here every couple months.

I am mad at myself for forgetting our female server's name but we were served on Dec 17 around noon. She was a great server. Brother ordered mozzarella sticks which came out right away and were very tasty, served in a cute little cone server. Mother got four sliders off the appetizer menu although it was way too much food. We tried to order the kids portion of sliders but the server told us the restaurant would not allow adults to order kids menu items as their meal. The two sliders went to waste unfortunately. I got the grilled fish tacos but was a bit underwhelmed with the thinness of the fish. A bit rubbery. I ate one whole taco and tried to eat the filling out of the rest. My brother enjoyed his meal which was the Anthony's Favorite Gyros. I would come back again if I was in the area as the service was friendly and they had a very good selection.

Obviously they have a crap ton of memorabilia. The menu is pretty expected and filled with classic greasy fried things. A pretty average looking place to be honest. It's almost as if this building used to be a chain like Applebee's or something. There's not a lot of charm, just loud TVs and yelling. Only a bit busy coming in. We were able to find bar seats. Has lots of great specials going on. It's $5.50 to get Jameson on Saturdays. As for the food menu it's pretty meaty. It's $11 for Hot Soft Pretzels. A lot of the rest of it is stuff like burgers. There's also pastas and pizzas. Seems like everything gets meat on it. The other stuff is pretty greasy as we saw on the other plates. For sure it's a great place for watching sports and other types of games. It's located by the Louis Joliet Mall so you can eat here after you go there. The area as far as restaurants is sucking and this is one of the better options for family, friends, or for whoever.

The waitstaff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive without hovering. We started with drinks: blueberry mojitos and sangria. Both were fantastic. The flavors were perfectly balanced, refreshing, and it was clear they were made with real care and attention, not just poured and sent out. For appetizers, we ordered the chips with guacamole and salsa. We weren't expecting the chips to come out hot and clearly fresh from the fryer, but wow, perfectly crisp with just the right amount of salt. The guacamole tasted fresh and clean, and the salsa had a great balance of heat and flavor without overpowering anything. I ordered the birria tacos, and they were outstanding. The meat was incredibly well seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. You can tell when food is prepared by someone who truly cares about what they're making, those kinds of flavors can't be faked. The Cobb salad was equally impressive: fresh ingredients, a perfect portion size, moist chicken, and a dressing that tied everything together beautifully. One of the nicest surprises was learning that Urban Kitchen supports the community through Meals on Wheels. It's always great to enjoy a meal knowing the restaurant gives back. The only downside? We live six hours away. That said, we will absolutely be back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!

My hubby ordered a chicken sandwich that was just as good.. All of our food was very tasty and we really enjoyed it. Portions are generous so hopefully you're very hungry or be prepared to bring plenty home. I was only able to eat half of my food and brought the other half home and my sandwich seemed better the next day which isn't always the case when you bring things home!! Dark beadboard walls, copper ceiling tiles, round orb lighting, and upstairs a cavernous space with soaring ceilings anchored by a stunning skylight. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the area. Date night approved. One gripe before we get to the good stuff: if you have pages and pages of creative cocktails and an extensive wine list, your two mocktail options deserve the same love. We don't drink and the options were fine but very sour and clearly an afterthought. Do better for the sober and sober curious crowd. Now the food. The burrata was creamy, rich, and gorgeous sitting in olive oil topped with chimichurri and grilled bread. Needed more balsamic to bring the acid balance home, but honestly still one of the better burratas I've had locally. The stuffed pork with gouda, chimichurri, and saffron potato wedges was a genuinely smart plate. The saffron wedges were a surprise standout, bringing a clean earthiness that cut through the richness beautifully. A touch heavy on the gouda and the whole dish woke up considerably with a little extra salt, but the bones of it are excellent. The churrasco hanger steak told the same story. Well cooked, flavorful, chimichurri doing its job. The curly fries were the one shrug of the night. Not bad, just boring next to everything else on offer. Mike our server closed the deal by steering us toward the caramel skillet cookie and honestly, bless him for it. Warm, salty, sweet, rich, topped with cold vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It is everything a skillet cookie should be and we scraped the pan. We are already planning the return visit and bringing friends. Barrel & Vine is an unexpected dining experience that Plainfield is lucky to have.
