We tried to go here again today for lunch and yet another disappointment. The owner doesn't honor the yelp coupon and the prices inside the restaurant has gone up and he doesn't have the new menus in at this time, I don't trust anyone to just quote me a price that I can't read anywhere. We decided to leave so I'm more than sure we won't be back. The owner furthermore stated he don't know how to remove the information from yelp, he said there was a guy but he doesn't know how to get in contact with him. Also when questioned about closing early yesterday he stated they close at 8pm however the door and menu says something differently. Although it states on yelp and on the door that this business closes at 9pm on Saturday upon arriving at 8:44pm they had already closed. Which was funny because when we pulled up and I saw the shack I said oh I don't want anything out of here. I was therefore not upset that they were closed but the bf was. Lol read more

Prices are not the same as the pictures posted by the customers. The manager took his time to explain that even when he had a line of customers waiting. Very nice small business and will continue to support. The cook is always generous with portion. read more

The only thing I miss about working in Joliet is how easy it was to pick up King's on my way home. Their wings are just the best, made with fresh whole wings. We get them often for parties and they come in a big tray resting on a generous portion of fries, with both fries and wings sprinkled with a lemon pepper seasoning that haunts my dreams. You can get buffalo or barbeque sauce on the side, but I skip the sauce completely - that's how good the seasoning is. They also have the best hush puppies I've had anywhere, and those, too, are sprinkled with that amazing seasoning. One of these days I'll try something else they offer, but it's hard to veer away from those wings that are always so consistently awesome. read more

Love this place. It may be a tad run-down and not in the best area, but for food like this, who cares?!?! Been here 3 times to get food for the office, and each time has just made everyone want to go back more often! Personally, I've had the chicken wings, tenders, and catfish fillets. I've never had any with sauce, only with the amazing lemon pepper salt that gets DUMPED over the delicious fried meat. The chicken is tender and juicy, always flavorful. The catfish tastes very fresh, and is always light and flaky, yet moist and filling. Not only is the quality great, but the quantity you get for what you pay is INSANE! (all of the following for ~ $7) I got the so-called "mini-combo" and must have gotten a pound of chicken, and another 3/4 pound of catfish. But it doesn't stop there, It also came with a half pound of fries, a generous serving of cole slaw, and two slices of delicious fresh white bread. I was seeking a quick lunch option and found King Fish & Wings on Yelp. Upon arriving at the food shack I was a bit apprehensive. It is clearly a hole-in-the-wall take-out joint but I am not sure the last time someone ran a mop across the floor near the ordering window or painted the walls! However, due to my tight schedule i decided to give it a try! I am glad I didn't judge this book by its cover. My catfish fillets were fried perfectly with just the right amount of lemon pepper seasoning to add a savory finish. Unfortunately the okra did not stand-up as well to the veggie oil bath. The breading was "fried hard" and so overpowering that I couldn't actually taste the okra. The fries were average, definitely benefiting from the dusting of lemon pepper. Although I still think King Fish needs a good spring cleaning/fall freshening I wouldn't hesitate a return trip for a quick fried-food fix in a pinch. read more

This place is unbeatable. My go-to item is the 6 wings dinner. It runs just over $5 and you get 6 wings with fries. The service is always super quick, and they have proven to be extremely friendly time and time again. This is one of my favorite places when I am in the mood for some chicken and wings. I grew up very close to this location in the 60's, 7's and 80's. As long as I remember I've been coming to this little building when it was an ice cream stand, a sub sandwich shop and a taco hut. I wanted to go back to the old neighborhood and check out what's in there now. I was a bit saddened when I went in as the place has not held up over the years.The place is in dire need of a remodeling. Nevertheless, I ordered the 6 pc wings dinner, which comes with bread, fries and cole slaw. I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. The wings were big and tasty, the fries were cooked just right and the slaw rich and creamy. The BBQ sauce isn't bad either. And for $6 it's quite a deal. Don't expect to find a pretty place but without a doubt the food is awesome! BTW they offer a variety of desserts as well although I didn't partake but next time for sure. read more

I go here all the time and tge wings and shrimp are legit. The only thing I would suggest is a good Buffalo sauce to shake the crispy wings in after they're cooked. Then that yummy lemon pepper. The owner looked out for me a couple times that I left my card or was short on cash, which was embarrassing-but he was si nice about it. Love him! Faithful Customer for sure. Just need to start making large fried oysters in that shrimp batter though. read more

Went tonight on the way home from the VA clinic. Ordered wings, catfish nuggets, okra. Everything was absolutely amazing! The catfish had such a delicious coating and was fried perfectly. The okra was fantastic. The wings were out of the world. You will not be disappointed. read more

I have tried the Fish and Chicken at King Fish and Wings. This restaurant has a great tasting meal. I have had both fish which was outstanding and the chicken which leaves me wanting for more every time I eat there. This is a place I will continue to frequent and recommend to my family and friends. read more
