Cheeseburger
Justin S.

Five Stars for Five Guys! A tasty big burger that won't let you down. The soda machines were being refilled when I ate here, wish they let me know before getting a fountain drink. The only options were sugar free . Everything else was great, the cashier was friendly and the chefs prepared my order quickly.

Burgerless burger

Placed an order using the actual Five Guys app for delivery. One of my Bacon Little Cheeseburgers was send with NO CHEESEBURGER. When I called the store and spoke to the manager I was told that he could not have a new burger delivered or provide me with a refund. How can you keep money for food you did not provide? This is actual stealing... stealing my money. Step up Five Guys and do the right thing.

All the way

What can be said that hasn't already been said by grandmaster CM Damien? The burgers are just that good. Cooked to medium, the meat is juicy, tender and flavorful beyond your wildest expectations. Wrapped tightly in tinfoil that serves as a perfect glove for consuming these amazing patties, the combination of toppings explodes in ta bouche. Order yours "all the way:" lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms, pickles, ketchup, green peppers. The bad ass burgers come in a bun just solid enough to handle this not-too greasy-mess. French fries are fried hard enough and absolutely demonstrate hand cut awesome. Crispy on the outside with medium to light darkness. You get to wait for your number while shelling peanuts on the house. If you haven't been yet, go soon.

Burger (what else would it be?)

The burgers are really great for under 5$. The junior was plenty with unlimited toppings. I read across the menu adding topping after topping and they seemed to get everything on there. Definitely better than the other fast food chains for a burger. Fries were a huge disappointment. My wife had eaten their regular fries before and did not like them so we went with the cajun fries. While they had a decent flavor they were too heavy handed on the spices. These were spice covered fries. Texture was off for a fry as well. I'd like to see some good fries at Five Guys. For now I'll come back for the burger and maybe stash a bag of potato chips in my pants. Service was on point, friendly, helpful, and happy. Restaurant was clean. Just get some new fries!

The coolest coca cola machine

Okay, I might just come here for the super cool Coca Cola machine. I was the biggest kid pressing all the different types of soda and mesmerized by all the flavors. Really!?! Peach Sprite Zero! GRAPE Sprite Zero! I was hooked from that moment on. I asked the cashier what the difference between the small cheeseburger and the regular cheeseburger. Well, THERE'S HUGE DIFFERENCE. Their regular cheeseburger are really double patty cheeseburgers. The small are single patty which was more than enough for me. The hubby didn't hear the cashier and ordered the regular cheeseburger with bacon and he his bulged out of his head when he saw his burger. Deep down inside I think he was excited assuming they made some type of mistake. But I explained it to him and I think he was hooked from that moment. The burgers were good. The condiments and toppings were all free. Their regular fries were plentiful but they weren't as crunchy as I would've liked. They also give you free peanuts while you wait. I want to go back. And press all the soda buttons again :)

I ordered a cheeseburger w cheese, mustard, ketchup lettuce, tomato, pickle. What did I get? A piece of hamburger, cheese,No bun/condiments

About 2 years ago, this restaurant and staff were GREAT. But now, they are insanely disorganized. Today, I ordered a cheeseburger with cheese, mustard, ketchup lettuce, tomato, extra pickle. Not too crazy. What did I get??? A piece of hamburger with NO condiments, NO lettuce/tomato/pickeles... and.. only the BOTTOM of the bun! What sucks more?? I left with my order, did an errand.. got home, to find this out. SMH. What a waste

Said All The Way, NO mushrooms, got not All The Way, with mushrooms.

Decent food, but overpriced, not worth it. Highlight was the personalizing soda machines.

Great fries, but they are required by company policy to cook the burgers until they resemble hockey pucks.

Food was good but the manager was a jerk. Watched him handle a customer complaint and was very unprofessional.

We walked into a room where the walls are covered in memorabilia and every table is labeled with the name of a famous person who has sat there, giving the space a personality that no amount of designed ambiance can replicate. It feels like a place with genuine history rather than a place performing one. The burgers are the reason to come and they hold up after more than six decades without apology. The patties are thick and cooked to order, with medium being the right call for maximum juiciness. The creative topping combinations across the named burgers give you a range of directions to go depending on your mood. The Masshole is a natural starting point for a first visit, and the build your own option is worth knowing about if you want to go a more specific route. The portions are large enough that leaving satisfied is essentially guaranteed. The onion rings are a great choice of side for good reason, crispy and well seasoned in a way that holds up alongside the burger rather than competing with it, and the sweet potato fries are a strong alternative if you want something slightly less heavy. The frappes and shakes are worth ordering if you want something to wash it all down, and the raspberry lime Rickey is a summer ready drink with a refreshing taste. Service is straightforward and efficient, fitting the no-nonsense energy of a busy burger joint that has been handling crowds for decades. The staff moves quickly and knows the menu inside out, helping first timers navigate the extensive list of named burgers without hesitation. For a classic burger experience in Harvard Square that delivers on history, flavor, and personality, Mr. Bartley's Burger Cottage remains a landmark worth every bit of its reputation.

I was impressed upon arrival, seeing the cool menu and interior. Knowing that many celebrities had eaten here! But then the food came out and we were a little disappointed. I ordered the D-Luxe and my boyfriend got the Bill Burr. We also started with soups, clam chowder and chili. The soups were good. Fries were really good! The burgers looked good, but then we took a bite. We both got medium, but usually that means pink...not raw. I'm not even lying my burger felt like I was eating raw meat. The meat was still super soft and shredded like. I get pink, but not raw. I was nervous I'd be sick after to be honest. I hate seeing pictures of people's bitten into food online but I felt the need to post it for reference... It's too bad because the vibes were great and everything, and maybe next time it'll be better, but I'd definitely say medium or medium well...
