Made a reservation for the dining room. Arrives and got sat in the crowded bar during happy hour. Asked to move and got questioned like we were in trouble for something. Service was slow but that appeared to be because they were understaffed so didn't hold that against our server. Got the Pretzel for a starter which was good. No signage or website directions on where to park, so you risk getting towed from the Wegman's lot or the apartments' spaces. The restaurant was attractive and clean but strangely laid out. Food was okay, but the service was very slow and our appetizer salad came out at the same time as the food, and after a long wait (40 mins) during which our waitress never checked in. Since the restaurant wasn't full it was hard to tell if they were understaffed, undermanaged, or what. The watermelon feta salad was watery and had a puddle of not very flavored dressing, and had six arugula leaves (we counted) despite it being an arugula salad. Burger was fine, but cooked medium instead of medium rare. Fries were good, pizza was good. The waitress never apologized for the wait on our food and then it took 20 minutes for her to deliver the check after we asked for it. Given the wait on the food and the lack of interest by the waitress, I decided against sending the burger or salad back. Probably wouldn't return. read more

Had an excellent dinner at the fore tavern the other night! I made a reservation to be safe and when we walked in were seated fairly quickly. The place was busy with many gatherings and patrons. We tried the garlic dip which was delicious and had a main of chicken parm and boldness. All big portions and for a great price! Every dish was flavorful and had came out at a good time during the meal. I highly recommend this spot and look forward to trying their new restaurant opening in Medford square! read more

My husband and myself have been to this restaurant before but we introduced this to friends this time. We had great meals and our server (Gianna- I hope I spelled her name correctly) did a wonderful job helping with food recommendations for our friends and was very cheerful and helpful to us. The food came to our table in a timely manner. The atmosphere was family friendly and comfortable with bar seating if you wish. There is outdoor seating as well but we chose to eat indoors on a rainy evening. There is parking available in a parking lot that is labeled for the restaurant but other spaces available if those spaces are taken. Good meals were enjoyed here and we will return again. read more

Went to the kids art class brunch. Ticket said starts at 11 and food is not included. Arrive at 11 and they take our orders but the actual art event starts "when every child is done eating". The food has gotten worse than in the past. Lumpy, hard mashed potatoes that seemed so old were served to us. When we commented on them, the sever shrugged and didn't apologize or offer to substitute or not charge for them. It's also become kind of sticky inside. Great place to grab a beer and a burger. Friendly service and I love vibe. The seafood chowder was outstanding as well.

We went at a busy time last night, but the service could have been better. The waitress took a while to take our drink order, the food took a long time to come out (and was cold when it did), and we were never checked up on for more drinks or if our food was ok. And during dinner the fire alarm system went off for the apartment upstairs, which was fine but frustrating. I'm sad that I have to give this a 3 star review. I have been looking forward to this restaurant opening for a while now, and perhaps I set my expectations too high, but I have been a few times and have continued to have an underwhelming experience. I'm guessing they are still working out the kinks, but the bill is too pricey me to continue to go back and not leave with a "WOW" experience. The place itself is gorgeous. Very very well done. The bar is beautiful, they have a great display of liquors on the bar, and they also get props for cloth napkins and unique/ cool dish ware! The staff is also pretty friendly but seem to be inexperienced. They aren't very attentive and still seem to get confused easily. The food is a bit mixed for me. There have been a few items that are really good, and a few that are pretty bland. It sounds like they are playing around with the menu still, so I am hopeful that this will be further improved. read more

I gave this place 3 stars because the food was pretty good. We were going to a show at the chevalier theater and when you search restaurants nearby, this one comes up. First let me say, this is not nearby, it's more than a mile from the theater! We started walking and then realized it was far but kept going. I had worn shoes that were not appropriate for walking so it took 25 minutes and my feet were killing! Anyway we had a reservation and were seated immediately even though we were late because of the long walk. Ambiance was good, dark walls and nice lighting. We were crammed into a small table with another table on each side with about 8 inches between tables. It was impossible to have a conversation because the parties on either side were conversing loudly and we were so close to them. The server was very slow for us but more attentive to the flanking couples. We ordered a drink which took a while and didn't get a chance to order food for another 20 minutes. When the server returned he took our empty drink glasses and didn't ask if we wanted another. We ordered an appetizer and meals at the same time because we were now getting close to the show time. The food was good - burger was over cooked but tasted good. The fried chicken in my sandwich was juicy, the fries were hot. There was a mayo blend on the sandwich which I do not like mayo so it ruined it for me. Wiped it off and ate what I could because there was no time to send it back. Parking can be tricky on busy nights as the lot is shared with condos/apartments although you can also park across the street in the Wegman's lot. I love the interior design of the place- feels historic yet modern. Choice of tables, booths, and high tops. The bar area is really nice too. Our server could not have been better- she was very accommodating, responsive and helpful. Our group of 4 had the shepherd's pie, pesto chicken and mushroom flatbread. Food was tasty and fresh. However, I found the drinks very over priced for small portions. I wasn't thrilled with this. I then split the spinach artichoke dip which was great! The portion was huge, my boyfriend and I could've just had this for dinner! For my meal I got the pear flatbread which had potential but the blue cheese was a strange add and it just seemed to be lacking for me. My boyfriend got the chicken broccoli ziti, which had generous portions but he said was just fine. Overall, not sure I would be back but seems like more of an appetizer place for sure! read more

This place is great for a casual dinner and drinks. We live in the building and are so happy to have a good, cute spot that's super convenient. That's a bit difficult to find in the area unless you're willing to brave Assembly Row. You can park to the side of the building or across the street at Wegmans. There's also a bus stop right in front too. Our server, Caitlyn was prompt and friendly. She did a great job! We got a full order of buffalo chicken wings that came out in two batches - genius! Not sure if that's what they normally do but it was a great way to ensure the wings were always fresh and hot. For entrees, I ordered the burger and my fiancé got the buffalo chicken flatbread - which we both enjoyed as well. Drinks-wise, the frose was the star of our evening.
